Halfords provided an amazing service all round. First, they tipped me off by email that a further tranche of vouchers had been released under the Fix Your Bike scheme. So I was able to get a free voucher for £50. They then did a great job repairing my bicycle at Stevenage, including a new chain, new gear cable and labour, all for only £49. The incredible thing is that two independent cycle shops had quoted astronomic figures of £180 and £200 respectively to achieve a similar result. So my future intention is to avoid independent shops and go to Halfords instead.

The staff were amazing and very friendly, they made sure I knew how the car seat was fitted and showed me several times. Once the seat was fitted the lady didn’t like how it looked so said she wanted to redo it so she knew it was the safest that it could be. Great service and lovely people.

I went to have an mp3/radio player fitted into my car on Tuesday 4 May. I chose Halford's because I'm one of those people who knows absolutely nothing about how to replace a car stereo. Staff were very helpful and I thought it was going to be a relatively straightforward procedure and that I would be able to say goodbye to playing CD's. Unfortunately, after spending about 20 minutes or so fiddling around, they decided that there was a problem. No sound. Apparently, my car had been upgraded at some point with better speakers and an amp, and for some reason which I don't understand, the new player just wasn't compatible. Disappointed, that they couldn't offer a solution, I agreed to a refund. Alarmingly, despite the fact that my car had been perfectly alright up to the point I arrived there, they now couldn't get it to start. Every time they turned the key, it was completely dead. After discussing it among themselves for 10 minutes or so, I was told that my battery was no good and would need replacing. Coincidence? So, instead of a new player, I came away with a new battery.

Unfortunate grazed my car backing out garage and need a small amount of paint and advise to mend it. Went to Halfords and a brilliant young man Gavin sorted out the Code for the Paint which was unusal and low and behold the next day it was in stock to collect. I had plenty of advise from this knowledgeable man about the best way to need with the scratch and apply the paint. Brilliant service thank you

Nice job done, a bit steep to charge a fiver to fit wiper blades which took about 90 seconds. Also very cheeky to email me saying you have checked my bulbs windscreen and battery when you didn't. ( I was with the fitter the whole time) as you would have seen that one of my day running lights was not working.

Great service today. I had a call the day before to confirm details and my fitting time. On the day, everything was handled well and the team made sure my new bike rack was attached, and I knew how it all worked. Problems were identified, questions answered and the team made me feel confident about taking it away. Much appreciated!

Polite and knowledgeable staff. Had a bulb and wiper fitted on the car then opted for the full car check which was recommended and really glad I did as had a few issues that I didn’t know I had which they soon sorted. The staff member doing the fitting and car checks was so jolly (whistling while he worked). He didn’t make me feel guilty that I had issues with my car that I could have easily sorted myself and should be checking on a regular basis!! (Note to self!) just polite.

Ordering online process was easy along with pick up, but items will need to be checked before leaving the store as my daughter didn’t and needed to make two additional unnecessary trips to rectify, very annoying!! Otherwise would do it again as staff very friendly and helpful.

Shopped here during tier 5 lockdown so I wasn't surprised to experience some changes. I was met at the door and asked what I was looking for. As it was engine oil, a quick check on my vehicle was done and within seconds I had what I needed, and at an excellent price. Looking forward to having a good browse again in the near future, but can't fault the effort and the speed today.

Picked up our son's bike this morning and Shea the staff member who assisted us in locating the bike,adjusting the seat so it could be be given a mini dry run in store was really exceptional. I went in head on angry due to being past around on the phone with customer service I walked into Halford Stevenage and was greeted by a friendly face which instantly calmed my angry mood down, I asked to speak to the manager and was advised the lovely lady at the front was the manager Jas I explained my frustration to her, and within 10minites I was in a good mood my issue was dealt with and I was laughing with staff. I’d like to give a massive thank you to Jas real asset to the store Highly recommend going here unfortunate about their customer service department but as informed it is not colleagues in store.

Total waste of time. I called and booked in for a bike service and was told that you have to book for a check and then it will be serviced. Having taken my bike down I was told that any 'repairs' which include any servicing would be a wait of at least 20 days. Had this information been provided when I called to book in I would not have wasted my time.

My air con is broken so I booked a free air con check through the Halfords website. The man who carried it out (Matt I think his name was, I could see on his badge it began with an M) was very nice and friendly. However, all he could tell me was that the aircon was broken (which I already knew), and that the Stevenage store don't do the follow up services that my car requires to fix it. He told me I should book another air con test at Letchworth and they will do it all again as well as fix it for me. Not the man's fault at all, he was lovely and was the only good thing about my visit, but why does the Stevenage store bother offering this air con test if they can't fix your air con? It was a big waste of time and petrol, now I will have to go the rest of the week with no air con until I can get down to Letchworth to do it all again. I think the Halfords website should only display the branches that can actually carry out air con services when you go to book the air con check to avoid disappointing customers and wasting their time. Apart from this, the staff were very nice and helped me with everything they could. But Halfords - please ammend your misleading website.

When you spend £2700 on a bike you expect the rim tape to be fitted correctly, 1 mile covered, 1 puncture, this could have been avoided if the bike had been checked properly before sale.

Visited the store looking for number plate bulb and car cover. Store covid precautions were in place and available to customers. Plenty of space to socially distance. Store layout and signs made it easy for us to locate what we were looking for. Will definitely use this store again when we are in the area

No problem with store its self. But more the way staff are completely uninterested within the bike department. Purchased 600 pound bike. Was not built when agreed time and date to collect. The I dealt with don't ask if u need help probably because they don't care or understand products. I have had previous good conversations with bike team but on last visit it was poor. When bike was collected I had to take to a specialist as gears were set up awful and bolts not tighten in stem causing forks to wobble. Staff need training on service and how to build bikes

I definitely feel ripped off by the Stevenage Holfords store, I went in to have a headlight bulb replaced, during the change the technician observed I was low on coolent & would I like it topped up, which I agreed to, what wasn't explained was the outrageous price of £5 to simply pour the coolent in, if this charge had been mentioned I would not have agreed to it. When I challenged this price at the till the lady simply shrugged & said "time is money". I certainly will not be using this Holfords again. Follow up on my initial feedback, as suggested by Charlotte (see response) I attempted to contact the customer service through their live chat, because there's no phone number to call & there has been no response to my email. I was connected to three different service staff, the first one gave me a phone number which I could use to speak to someone, this number was useless as it was a automated message, the other two disconnected me from the chat when I explained I wanted to discuss a complaint.

The door was opened for me, with ample space in the store to avoid heathens and their diseases. Masked up i was as i entered the store, straight to the sanitation station for some vodka hand shots, got me feeling a little loose but the kind staff sobered me up by asking what i was after or if i needed help, which i did not, i was clicking and collecting, man with a plan, in and out in 10 mins or less though my add ran riot as i saw all the shiny new spanners and deals galore on turtle wax, who am i to say no to a new 10inch wrench? Size doesnt matter they say, well i say give me the big one because these nuts need the rust breaking and only the big boy will do .

I ordered via phone, direct with Stevenage store, a car camera and was given a date & time to collect & have fitted at the same time. Great service as I did not need to attend the shop twice. On arrival staff were attentive, helping customers while waiting in line as per Covid 19 guidelines. Where they could clients enquiries were fulfilled prior to going in to the shop i.e. bike repairs they could carry out, helped a lady with a child seat fitting. The young man that fitted my new car camera was helpful, talked me through everything I needed to know about its function, downloaded the app on to my phone & connected it for me. I'm a technophobe so the member of staff took his time in telling me all about the camera, how to record & keep the recording, what would happen if I had an accident & how the police could access the recording. Fitting was seamless, no wires visible. Excellent service. Plus my brother has a car camera fitted in his car, by Halfords sometime ago & having changed phones he could not download his camera on to his phone. The fitter, said, when next passing by pop in & I'll do that for you. No fuss service. Unfortunately not all members of the public are polite to the staff, & they are dealing with abuse because they are carrying out COVID 19 guidelines, staff are to be commended on the polite way they are responding to these acts of verbal outbursts towards themselves.

I chose a bike at the Luton branch which couldn't be ordered due to stock. They phoned Stevenage to ask for it to be kept for me and built to collect on the following Sunday (3days later) and I would get a call telling me when I could collect . We couldn't pay then as we had a gift card to order to use for payment. On the sat before late pm I rang as I hadn't heard anything. One confusing call later I was told it should be tuesday (?) but that they'd do it especially for Sunday and someone would call me that evening. No call. We rang on the Sunday. The best I could get was 'they're really busy and are 'aware' of your bike and if it isn't ready today it will be Monday' but that they'd call when it was done. But he couldn't explain why no one was calling me. By Sunday closing still no call. Monday... no call. Its now Wednesday and I've rather given up expecting a call. Very disappointed in the situation.
