Appalling! Don’t get your bike serviced here. Paid for a Gold service and extra work on the gears. On the first ride out the gears slipped within 10 mins, the mud guard came free and wrapped itself around the back wheel, the brakes weren’t as tight as they should have been and the chain broke. I took it back in and they promised to fix it for the following day. Phone calls to check if it was ready weren’t responded to. When I took it out again the back wheel became disconnected from the gears after 10 mins.

Ordered an insulated cycle drink bottle at a bargain price of £5.00 on the easy to use Halford's web site and in no time received an email the item was ready to collect. Went down to the store and felt safe about Covid 19 measures in place. The manager gave me the item and all completed with no problems. HAPPY XMAS TO THE STAFF FROM BILL Stevenage Old Town

Went in for motor oil, they had what I wanted, but no advice booklets on oils, which is something Halfords are good with for other products.

Went to store only to find that a table was blocking the entrance. But staff member spoke to me instantly asking what I was looking for. I asked for de-ionised water, which straight away she confirmed the sizes available and then how many I wanted. The whole visit took less than 4 minutes and during this time felt totally at ease and safe with good socially distancing measures in place.

Booked a slot to have a new battery fitted on my car. The staff who fitted it were very efficient and friendly. They first checked all my lights were working then fitted battery. Will definitely use Halfords again.

Had bronze service and chain replaced on my bike 3 1/2 months ago. Today, the chain broke when changing gears. took the bike straight back to get repaired. Explained the situation and that I want the chain replaced without charge as the original lasted over 6 years. This was agreed as a 'good will gesture'. Got home and now suspect a link was removed from the damaged chain. The single member of staff I spoke to was quite condescending. Had several bad experiences here over the years with regards to bikes. Only returned due to a government scheme that was not available at my preferred bike shop. I will avoid in the future.

telephone support line is very poor. cant call the store directly - got to go via call centre. spoke to call centre person now kept waiting on hold 15 minutes while call centre worker find out if my bike is ready. if i could call the branch (ie the number for the branch on line actually goes to the branch). eventually passed through to the branch.

Expecting a complicated shopping experience with lockdown measures, I visited the store to replace a failed headlamp bulb. The team was organised and I was served immediately. The bulb was fitted by Jimmy in minutes and we were then on our way again. Very pleased.

Very friendly staff who picked up by mountain bike in the car park and took it upstairs for me, the helpful people fitting the dash-cam and the rear camera very nice, as was the young lady who did a mountain bike check. Very nice staff throughout the whole store. I'd recommend Stevenage Halfords for sure.

Ive had 2 puncture repair done this week on my sons bike they never check the trye for any think by time it was put back on the bike it was no good.
Im never one to moan but its beyound a joke it aint cheap either

Visited Stevenage Halfords with my Husband as he needed a specific inner tube with a presta valve . As Halfords have had such a demand during Covid-19 they had run out of the inner tube which we had found in other Halford stores. We were approached by ROB who was polite and helpful and first checked stock room then said he could order it in for us or we could order at home. Thank you for such a positive experience Rob.

Made to wait in a queue for 45 minutes to collect a bike I'd already paid for. When I eventually got the bike they didn't run any checks or anything, so could have gotten somebody to bring it down when I got there. Really very unhappy with the service.

My Grandsons bike chain had come off his bike. I had two options, Halfords or my local cycle shop. (Contour Cycles Roebuck) My thoughts that the local shop would be the better more personal service, what a shock I got. I was told that the arm was bent, I assume the arm to be the frame arm from the crank to the rear spindle. (Looked fine) so approximate repair cost £100 pounds, and they thought the bike wasn’t really worth that much. My ignorance of bikes I accepted that, although since I have been told a Muddy Fox mountain bike is very good. My wife felt we should get a second opinion, so reluctantly we went to Halfords. Wow well worth the trip 2 hours later one repaired mountain bike, New Chain and Cable, something to do with twist grip, with a total bill of £21.49. You could knocked me down with a feather. With the current climate and the high demand and use of cycling, and a possible mentality of you need us more than we need you, as we are inundated with work, produced a bit of a greedy mindset ? I’d say don’t forget value of your customers, this Pandemic will not last for ever. Well done Halfords !

Took the bike to repair puncture and for the free health check. Katie, who attended, was very helpful and said if I can hang around for a few minutes, I can take the bike then, saving me a journey of coming to collect it later...
Wanted to go for the silver service package for the bike an Katie suggested not necessary since my bike is in good condition, saving me some ££s.
