They didn't take my Monzo card. It's a Mastercard current account. They should accept this. Everywhere else does. I had 'ApplePay' too. I had to queue up at the cash machine down the road, touch the virus infested keypad, and then queue up again :(

The sloth in Zoomania serves faster than this guy! Please believe all the reviews! The people running this business just don’t care about offering a service, extremely slow, rude . I live very near but now go out of my way to go up to Islingword Road PO.

It's true that service is slow, but a lot of these reviews are unfair, the people working here have always been helpful to me when I've had queries and they've always sorted problems for me. Yes, sometimes they could cheer up a bit, but so could half the Country. If you need a parcel sent and this place is local, use it.

The staff are always very helpful and friendly to me. I'm surprised by some of the reviews on here so I felt compelled to share that I've always had a very good experience here and will happily come back again and again :)

Went in to collect a parcel after Royal Mail website said it was available for colection there, and was told categorically that the website was wrong and I would have to wait another 24 hours. Spent an hour on the phone to Royal Mail who eventually confirmed it had indeed been delivered and that the post office must have misplaced it. Went back in and queued again, was served by another member of staff who found the parcel right away. Wasted half my morning because the original staff member hadn't bothered to look properly and then gave me a load of bull about the website being incorrect. It also smells of mould in there and the queues are often horrific, whilst the staff seem to casually take as much time as possible over the simplest of tasks.

Really friendly staff. This place is often busy but I choose it over other local post offices because the service is so lovely. I'm a small business owner and the owner of this Post Office has been kind and supportive, and always helpful when I turn up with lots of packages! He talked me through the drop and go service and always asks me how I am.

Very strange business. Junk is haphazardly strewn across the shop with no rhyme or reason, I've never seen anything like it. Whatever happened to taking pride in your business? The couple that own the place have basically no customer service skills. There have been multiple occasions when I've been in line waiting and the only person working in the shop is making everybody wait to be served while they do some sort of pointless admin that could obviously be done AFTER helping the customers first. They're also pretty rude and rarely say hello or thank you, you know, basic human pleasantries. One day I was walking a package over before work and it started to rain just before I got inside, literally a few drops. The guy asked me if it was raining, I thought he was just trying to make conversation and said yeah it just started lightly drizzling. Then he proceeded to tell me off because the water could ruin everyone else's parcels. REALLY? You live in one of the most notoriously unpredictable, rainy countries on the planet. If you aren't equipped to deal with a few drops of rain you should maybe consider relocating to a dryer climate. If it wasn't the closest place to my house I'd probably avoid it altogether.

Worst post office I ever used! They shouldn’t be allowed to represent the brand. I used them couple of time because it’s close to the house. The staff is rude, once i asked about a parcel that i just received there, they only told me they don’t know (or they don’t care) but when you show them the confirmation email, they only start to search for it. I prefer now to make few more step and go somewhere else. If you don’t believe me, just go for a little taste of it, you will regret it ;)

Electric atmosphere If there’s one thing I’ve learned this year, it’s don’t believe what you read on google. Time to pull this rating up from 2.1 stars out of 5. Personally, I’ve never been more excited to enter a post office. Not only is there a wide variety of continental meats at the till, but the postman has great banter. I once went in to exchange my last $10 bill from a trip to America into £6.86 and he rightly pointed out “There’s hardly any point!” We both laughed, I left, and bought a pint with the winnings. More recently I entered this fine establishment to receive a parcel which was apparently being held at the post office following a failed delivery. After explaining the situation at some length, I found the parcel myself, in the somewhat limited storage space and apparently random filing system. I was then charged £0.70 to receive the parcel, at my surprise and enjoyment. The postman claimed the parcel could be a gold bar. I said it certainly weighs enough. We both laughed, and I left. Occasionally the queue actually goes down really fast, and they sell useful things like Learner Driver’s plates. Whenever inside, I’m kept guessing. Will that parcel ever arrive? Hope the eBay buyer stays quiet. Will I still make it to work in time waiting for the postman to separately weigh 6 envelopes? Why is one till closed when there are two employees and a massive queue? It’s the sheer uncertainty of what might happen at Lewes Road post office that makes it such an exciting place to spend up to 45 minutes. I implore you to see this venue in a different light on your next adventure there.

I use this place for click & drop services with Royal Mail - it does the job. If you want top-class "polite" behaviour and quick waiting times, go to the regional postal centre. This is a small operation, currently providing for way above its capacity (the entirety of Elm Grove at least). My only issue with the place is its dodgy cash machine, not always secured - but the bank is down the street.

DO NOT USE !!! Rude, tried to over charge, then tried to undo my letter that I was sending. I have complained to the Post Office, but they seem to favor the post office worker rather than their customers. I have never experience such rude and unprofessional behavior from the man in there who is suppose to be in a customer service role. Would give less stars if possible....

Very rude owner who actually talks to you like he is doing you a favour when he serves you! He was quite rude when I asked for proof of purchase receipt. Won't ever use this post office again, would prefer to walk to the one in London road even though it's not near me!

this post office is a complete shambles! The guy who works here is really rude and I found out when I went to another post office that he's been over charging me to send a package that I send almost every day. If he had done his job properly then he would have realised that my package fitted under "letter" not large letter that he has been charging me for which accounts to about £1.50 extra per package. Unbelievable. Ever since I've been back I've had to tell him over and over again that it's a letter. Basically unless you know exactly how much your package should cost then don't go here.

Staff are quite friendly, but all the parcels are left on the shop floor for any customer to take it they fancy. This leaves me feeling concerned about the security of the I have paid to send.

I have used this place for the last time this morning. The unjustified rudeness and irritability of the man in there , yet again, was the last straw for me. I called here today at 830am . The shop was empty save for one person standing right in the middle of the aisle yapping into her phone. As I approached the counter I was irritably , arrogantly and rudely told. "I AM SERVING!!" I pointed out that the "customer " was not even at the counter. Eventually, at her convenience, the woman approached the counter and apoarently continued with her "transaction." By this time a reasonable queue had built up and people were getting impatient. There was no sign of any other staff, as usual. I have been going to this branch for some time and on a "good" day, you may spot a female member of staff who ,if she hasn't run a mile when she sees a customer or, God forbid, more than one , is not quite as unpleasant, slow and downright unprofessional as the male member of staff is. You would think a regular customer would at least be treated with a little courtesy, such as " I am sorry, I am serving somebody at the moment who is making an urgent call, could you bear with me for a few minutes?" If indeed this is what was happening. How is one supposed to know that he was "SERVING" when the person was near the door of the bloody shop?! I am angry, feel insulted by this idiot and will not return here. It is a trek to the nearest branch but one that all would be advised to take. Do not use this place, the man is an ignorant buffoon and if any more post offices do have to close, please let it be this one!!

Either the staff need training or they intentionally try to get you to use the more expensive postage methods, by denying that cheaper ones exist. Either way, I recommend using somewhere else.

Avoid like the plague. Absolutely disgusting service, consistently rude and laugh in your face. Tried to post a parcel which weighed 600g and was well within small parcel size, he mumbled '£5.60' under his breath then held his hand out and told me to give it to him. I didn't and left. It cost £2.85, which I knew it should, at London Rd PO. I also questioned why they said my large letter stamp wasn't enough for some unimportant documents because I genuinely didn't know, and reply was 'because it's not'.

Rude unhelpful staff. Dirty and shambolic shop. They get the job done eventually... The only saving grace is you can use a "post office card account" card in the cashpoint outside. Which surprisingly works about 95% of the time. Skip the queue and don't deal with the morons inside ;)
