Amazing job by Gary and the team at Audiofile who installed an Alpine Freestyle 902 7" system to replace the ancient and original nav set-up in my Range Rover P38. Looks incredible and completely bespoke: the job involved creating an entirely new fascia panel for the control buttons, now placed where the old radio was. He also replaced several blown speakers and built casing for them. Blown away!

After a totally unsatisfactory upgrade (not cheap at all) performed by an independent workshop to my BMW F30, I started searching for alternatives and Audiofile in-car won the pole-position on my list. During a visit in UK I passed by their workshop for a test-listening just as additional reassuring for the result I was expecting - I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality of their demo car. During that visit they were working on a Ferarri - it was interesting to see it all dismantled (with the dashboard removed etc) but they knew what they were doing and the quality of work was obvious (attention to detail with 'OEM' like harnesses, TESA tape for avoiding any vibrations, safe speakers installations etc). Since for me the upgrade involved traveling again with my car in UK, the overall cost of the upgrade (including the parts from previous upgrade that were becoming useless) was becoming quite high, therefore the decision was even more difficult for me. But the main factor which really convinced me was that Audiofile in-car is using components from various providers/brands for speakers, amplifiers, DSPs etc. I appreciated that since most of the workshops have a certain brand for which they are gold partner and they insist on promoting/installing that brand for the whole system since they get very good discounts on those parts and they can maximise their profit. But Audiofile in-car preferred to choose various brands for each layer (door speakers, underseat woofers, amplifiers, DSPs) based on their intensive tests and experience just for obtaining excelent final results in terms of quality and reliability. This is an important differentiator between them and competitors. Anyway, long story short: after several emails exchanged with Gary for choosing the right options for my car I finally decided for the upgrade, traveled to UK, left the car there and one week later I flew again to Stansted in order to pickup the upgraded car. It was a big 'logistical' effort for me but it was totally worth it and I was very satisfied with the result, especially that I went for a 'custom' upgrade: System 3 Plus but with 5 channels amp, upgraded 2 ways rear door speakers, full sound-proofing of the car (all doors, side-skirts, trunk, rear wheels arches and under-seats areas), sound tuning etc. I highly recommend them for the high quality work, reliability, final result and customer care! For sure I will use their System 3 Plus for my wife's next BMW :)

I was recommended Gary at Audiofile by a number of people on the car forums as one of the best audio fitters in the country. A big statement by all means and with their price being nearly twice that of a lot of the other installers in the area, I was needless to say very sceptical. However I took the decision to go with the recommendations of friends and the Google reviews and booked the car in yesterday. All I can say is the result is unbelievable! What a fantastic sound. From start to finish they have not let me down. The following points are worth noting: 1. They are knowledgeable and advise based on individual requirements. 2. Their work is tidy, clean and on a 20 year old car not one piece of trim was out of place or broken (very difficult, trust me!) 3. They kept me informed and kept to the schedule they gave me. 4. They gave me a replacement car whilst mine was being worked on at no extra cost. 5 The end result was far beyond my expectations. it really is a case of you get what you pay for! Stop looking anywhere else on the internet and just come to thies guys. I upgraded the stereo on my BMW 1 series and its amazing, I cant fault them on anything. The quality of the equipment, the installation and Gary in the showroom were all outstanding. When i have to get a new car in the future ill be coming straight back here for the stereo upgrade.

Audiofile retro-fitted Apple CarPlay into my 10 year old Saab convertible - something I desperately wanted but was very nervous to do. I was assured it would work perfectly - which indeed it does. So, I can listen to digital radio, my music library, podcasts, audiobooks - as well as making hands-free calls, sending messages and navigating. I've also discovered that Siri works! Their knowledge, experience and professionalism was evident throughout. I've known of their existence for nearly 30 years and wanted an excuse to use them - and I'm soo glad I did. Thanks guys.

Took my 5 series Touring to the guys in July. Already had focal speakers in front and focal subs. Gary and Dave recommend new Amp bit 10 and dynamat in front doors. Had a minor issue with bit 10 setup file missing, which Gary sorted without delay. All I can say is wow. Bit 10 and sound proofing may seem ott but it makes a massive difference. Tidy install. Nice people. Genuine people. A highly recommend business which deserves your time. So glad I found these guys. Love my car sounds.

I set out to update my 2001 Defender 90 and came across the Audiofile-Incar site. I went to the shop and spent a good hour discussing the planned updates with Gary, he was extremely knowledgeable and provided great advice from lighting to audio. I cannot possibly describe here how unbelievably successful and professional the transformation has been. Until you hear it, you would never think it possible to get such clarity and volume in the audio of a Defender, I can now talk on hands free at 70 and hear things in tracks you never thought possible. The soundproofing too has been incredibly effective, it has basically turned the Defender into a vehicle that is a pleasure to cruise and raising the seats and removing the bulk head has created such a comfortable driving position. The lighting upgrade has attracted a lot of positive comments from members of the public and is just the perfect finisher to the vehicle. In short, if you have a car and want to enhance the audio and interior/exterior this is a great company, if you have a Land Rover then this is the BEST company you can possibly use for expertise and value. I have never written a review for any company before but these guys truly deserve it!

We dropped our Defender 90 with the Audiofile team for, what I'd like to think of as modernisation and upgrading - soundproofing, alcantara headlining, new front seats with high rise cubbybox, smoked side and rear glass and rubber Checker plate in the back. As the work got underway we added leather door cards to the scope which on reflection really finish the car off. More mundane but vital jobs were added with rust suppression and stopping leaks (as much as you can with a Defender) which, as it turned out, meant taking the top half of the car off!!! The standard of this work by itself deserves recognition but Audiofile are a league above when it comes to clear communication before, during and after the project. The whole process was hassle free (a real bonus in these modern times) and clearly defined. These guys don't do shoddy!! Any issues they uncovered as the work progressed were dealt with without drama. The frosting on top was the handover. Gary spent a good hour walking me round the finish car, with a coffee, making sure we were fully briefed and satisfied. I drove the 70 miles home in horribly snowy conditions with a smile on my face the whole way? We've even got a USB stick fully documenting the stages of the works. Well done Gary and the team, we'll see you for stage two.

So used Audiofile years ago to rectify some issues with a sound system in a defender that someone else had bodged. Then once I had purchased my bowler wildcat I knew this was the place to go for custom stuff. This included for me a full sound proof &a rubber matting inside, with full alarm system. This being more of a rally car it really was a lot of work for the guys but the quality of workmanship and time taken to get things right really showed. Gary is so easy to deal with on things and takes the time and a general interest in getting things spot on for you as the customer. Cannot recommend enough and once again it's a case of you get what you pay for! Thanks Gary and the Audiofile team!

After purchasing a Porsche 911 997 and enduring the dated standard system for a few months I found Audiofile In Car through the Porsche forums and also a personal recommendation from a friend who had used them previously. Gary could not have been more informative in the time we spent discussing what to install and all I can say about the install and turnaround itself, in a day i might add - is incredible! I opted for a Kenwood DMX-7017DABS double din head unit with a reversing camera and the Focal\JL Audio sound package the AF-IC recommend. The difference in sound quality whilst retaining the standard 8” door woofer is staggering. The team actually fixed a leaking door panel whilst doing the install too. As I was collecting the car I was presented with a USB key of images of the install which I think is a great touch and needless to say the hour drive home was very enjoyable indeed. I can’t recommend these guys enough and will certainly be using them in the future.

And the back of house for a superb install hidden away out of sight. Everything put back beautifully. Anybody wanting a sound upgrade for their car where the focus is on the quality of the sound should check this place out. Great demo cars and no pressure to buy just plenty of great advice to help you choose within your budget.... i have used Audiofile for years, in the past putting in ipod docs etc in previous cars but recently i bought a new shape range rover sport , had the standard entertainment that was pretty poor. the guys at Audiofile fitted a fantastic upgrade , now i have a musical experience driving home from work each night , great service, fantastic sound, a very happy customer

These guys have just installed a System 1 in my BMW. I'm absolutely delighted with both the quality of workmanship and quite outstanding difference in sound that Audiofile-Incar have delivered. The Focal speakers in the System 1 package are crisp, well defined and full, remedying the extremely poor standard audio system in my car. The difference has to be heard to be believed. The only problem is that it's so good, CD's now sound quite different to MP3 - but that only goes to illustrate the quality of the speakers and the installation; I can't praise the standard of workmanship at Audiofile-Incar highly enough.

This has been the 3rd time using Audiofile-Incar. The work they carry out is to the highest standard. I have recently had the BMW System 3 Plus upgrade with Party Sub installed on my BMW 4 Series Coupe and I must say, it has by far exceeded all my expectations and I cannot thank Gary and the Team at Audiofile Incar enough for all their hard work and efforts. The customer experience for me personally was first class and they even gave me a free courtesy car whilst mine was in being tuned up. As most BMW owners know, the factory sound system that comes with any model is very underwhelming and to be honest, even with an Alpine or a Harman Kardon manufacturer upgrade is, at best, not very good! I researched extensively into an Audio Technician who I could trust and after many recommendations, I am so glad I found Audiofile Incar. The work carried out was to a factory (showroom) finish and you would never be able to tell that anything was done to it, until you turn it up that is! I am now listening to music like I am hearing most songs for the first time again, the clarity is incredible, tweeters and midrange sounds amazing and with the Party Sub, it gives it that perfect punch without being too much. I do not often write reviews but for this, I felt it was a necessity, as you have to give credit where credits due. Ok so where do I begin??...I purchased a BMW E46 M3 convertible earlier in the year, and I knew before I even bought it that the harmon kardon was too outdated (no way near as good as the aftermarket products) and I wanted a proper sound system installation to be carried out.. I looked no further than Audiofile-InCar which was a 40 minute drive from home, and as I had used them prior to buying the M3 (I use to own a 2006 330Cd convertible, and I bought a new headunit and subwoofer from Audiofile-InCar back in 2015), I knew what to expect, and that was a very high level of customer service with decent prices for their products. I dealt directly with Gary, who wrote me a quote for the work to be carried out on the spot. Since the audio install wasn't gonna be just simply replacing like for like components, I left this with Gary and his team who are the real pros when it comes to these custom installations. They managed to completely strip all of the harmon kardon kit out, without leaving any scratches or marks on the interior of the vehicle or the kit itself! The work carried out took a good 3-4 working days to complete. The final outcome was brilliant!! The performance of the JL Audio amplifier and subwoofer, the Rainbow front door component speakers, and Pioneer 2016 flagship model head unit really was outstanding! Not forgetting the generous application of Dynamat (Sound Proofing) on the doors and the rear ski hatch! Gary, Dave and the rest of the team managed to create/manufacture a baffle that would sit in the rear ski hatch of the M3, so that the enclosure of the subwoofer was actually the boot!! So they managed to save a tonne of space without compromising on acoustic performance! They even gave me back the whole of the Harmon Kardon kit (undamaged) that was previously in the car, which I can now go on to resell! I truely do have a lot of faith in the team at Audiofile-InCar, and they never disappoint and I don't think they ever will! The staff there are all very friendly, helpful and passionate about what they do, and I believe it is the passion that is the driving force of the team! Upon arrival of picking up the M3, Dave (another member of the team) took the time out to show me exactly how the headunit operates, and what functionalities the overall sound system had, which was very impressive. The overall install was very neat and tidy, no wires/cables showing anywhere in the car. It was a cracking install they did, and the craftsmanship was second to none, especially the subwoofer baffle manufacturing/ installation! All in all I have given Audiofile-InCar a 5 star rating, because they deserve it and the quality of customer service is excellent. I would definitely recommend Gary and his team if you are looking to get a high spec/end and high quality installation done on your vehicle!! I really cannot recommend these guys highly enough. They took on my car for a simple tune up and to find a loose connection, what they actually found was a diabolical mess of a system that had been fitted by another dealer in Herts. Gary was reluctant to take on the job and I can understand that trying to fix someone else mess can be a hard task but what he and his team delivered blew me away. Yes I had to spend more money to get the system I should have had but it was money well spent - every penny of it. The system absolutely sings now - it sounds amazing, the quality of workmanship, the time they put into the car to get the dynamat where it was needed and the custom sub cover in the parcel shelf just make me say wow - I cannot stop looking at it - it's like it was always there. I'll be taking matters further with the other dealer as I feel throughly ripped off but the guys at Audiofile Incar know their stuff, there's no waffle and they treat you right. I'm a customer for life.

I had almost given up on my BMW E92, as Road Radio and all of the other fitters i had spoken to, said i would need to spend over 2k to have a decent sound system. They also insisted that the best 4inch speaker for my car was Focal isn 100 which they installed on my girlfriends car and sounds awful. Literally worse than the stock speakers (Could be due to lack of amp, but this wasn't explained) and rattled constantly. Also Road Radio in Crawley fitted an Alpine SWE815 sub in the boot, but the connection was not good and the sub TURNS OFF on almost every single drive !!!!! I Spoke to Garry from Audiophile who explained how the audio in a BMW works, and confirmed that the best speakers for my car are Focal KRS100 (k2 power). I went on their website and saw that they do stage upgrades where they combine these speakers with other high end components. I also saw some very good reviews and good feedback on forums, so I went for the stage 2 upgrade. This includes the Focal KRS 100 (k2 Power) a JL audio 500 3 channel amp, a Sub level controller for the stock, under-seat subs, and Dynamat soundproofing for the door cards. Garry and his team were extremely helpful and answered all of my questions (which were MANY :) They took the time to explain how everything works, and i actually learnt a LOT !! Most other places just want your money and are not interested in explaining much. Garry called me to bring my appointment forward due to a cancellation and arranged for me to have a courtesy car (i was travelling from central London) at no extra charge. Whilst working on my car Garry noticed that the Alpine sub i had in the boot (Fitted by road radio in Crawley) was very poorly wired. This is probably why it was just turning off by itself... the 5meters of cable that the sub came with, was just stuffed behind the seat (Pictures to prove). Garry and his team re-wired the sub free of charge, adjusting the cables accordingly !! Picked my car up yesterday, and despite my skepticism, i was blown away. It did take a little while to adjust the EQ and Sub controllers to get the sound that i want, but all i can say is OMG.. I am actually addicted to the sound; its that good. Garry was completely right in saying that the standard subs actually pack quite a punch when given enough power !!! There is no distortion whatsoever, even at ridiculous volume.. For the first time in my life, i am listening to music WITHOUT an EQ to increase the bass & reduce distortion. The stage 2 cost me a grand (which is a lot for me), but i honestly don't regret it. These guys should be at the very top of google when any search includes the words 'Car Audio'.. I hands down recommend them to anyone who wants amazing sound, fitted by professionals, for a reasonable cost. Oh, as if this wasn't enough, they also have a demo car where you can listen to how it will sound before you buy, so there is no doubt in your mind of what you are getting. When i have enough money, i will be buying the Audison Bit10 processor which completely transforms the sound in such a way that i can only describe as magic.. Go see for yourself, its almost like the sound is coming from the artist sitting on the dashboard..

Having been referred to Gary by my best friend (who'd had a custom install done on his classic mercedes), I booked my 190E Cosworth in for a full sound system upgrade - the only criteria I had was a budget ceiling and a request to ensure the system was totally discrete, no drilling into rear parcel shelf, etc. Gary and the team at Audiofile Incar came up with a custom solution with a 10" JL audio sub. JL amp. Focal 4" components at the front - the sound and quality of installation is top notch - very pleased with the end result. Highly recommended but get your booking in early - they have a waiting list !!!

I'm not normally forthcoming when it comes to reviews, fearing I'll either appear too generous in my wording, or too unenthusiastic. I'm not one to over praise, but Audiofile-in Car done a great job transforming my cars weak stereo to an absolute high-end sound system any Audiophile would be happy with. I have a BMW E60 M Sport Saloon and anyone that knows anything about BMW will know they're not built with the best stereo & speaker Components. Originally I only ever wanted a plug & play speaker upgrade solution as I had no interest in making my car some Chavy bass happy, 'looking for attention' nonsense. A BMW is classy and I wanted to to remain this way. Albeit with a high end sound station. I should stress Audiofile-in car only fitted my amplifier. But I have MTX plug & play 3 way component speakers. These are 2x 4" mids in the doors. 2x tweeters by the door mirrors, and 2x 8" Subwoofers under both seats. Dynamat (sound proofing) is fitted behind all 4 doors and rear parcel shelf. Audiofile-in car supplied my JL Audio 500/3 amplifier which they fitted under rear parcel shelf attached to some MDF. Looks extremely subtle but with high quality factory standards. You'll be amazed. Had a phone call from Audiofile-in car yesterday telling me my car was complete. Just like to mention they supplied me with a courtesy car overnight which was a pleasant surprise. So the sound?...bass is clear, undistorted, punchy and crisp. It bags a punch. I have a bass adjustment knob fitted in the cubbyhole under headlight switches and it's great. The mids and tweeters in the doors can now concentrate on other parts of the song so you'll find yourself discovering parts of a song you never realised were there. Crisp, clear and a pleasure to listen to all types of music knowing that the acoustics in the car are at optimum levels. So to summarise, great workmanship. Professional service. Brilliant sound quality. I would recommend you to use them if you enjoy music and more importantly 'quality' of music. Yes they're more expensive than most but you're paying for workmanship to people that are audio enthusiasts, to people that fit high-end systems in Mercedes, Range Rover, Audi and other prestigious marques, that are very factory. Very OEM. In keeping with maintaining my car and it's classiness, I'm a very happy customer and you will be too.

I have a 3 series BMW (F31) 335D in luxury trim bought second hand with the basic audio set up - a totally fantastic car except the the sound system was so awful I could not bear to listen to music and could hardly hear the radio (it wouldn't surprise me if it was why the previous owner sold it after only a year). So I had to do something. BMW said they could not help, their Alpine standard upgrade (they say) cannot be fitted to a 335D because of active sound (engine sound piped through the speakers). Audiofile appeared from their website to understand the issue and when I called them and spoke to them they clearly did - to be frank the only people I have been able to find who filled me with any confidence. So a day out from Gloucester for me. I like music and am quite into hifi (Naim ND5XS into a Musical Fidelity x-pre (valve preamp) into two XA-200 monoblocks to B & W 805s - excellent) and so have pretty high standards. I was persuaded (willingly) to go for the 2+ option. The sound quality of the audio is transformed - I now sit in the car outside listening to the end of the track. But really that is only the beginning. Their attention to detail is superb, the car has been reassembled impeccably (I hate rattles, there are none) - you would not know anything had been done (apart from the tweeters now fitted in the replaced door trims). The car is quieter at motorway speeds because of the increased sound insulation in the doors. I chose to have the active sound taken out of the front - the car's own engine note sounds better, at my age you really don't need to be flattered by an ersatz engine note. The mobile phone and sat nav voice is much clearer and even the bongs sound better. So, if you are thinking you need to do something about your BMW's c**p sound but are reluctant to let anyone mess with your treasured possession, I have no hesitation recommending these guys.
