Came here to visit the institute and also to see an exhibition of the 2019 Royal Gold Medal winner, Sir Nicolas Grimshaw. Several exhibits showcase examples of his work along with descriptions, models and examples of architectural structures to help explain things further. The building itself is an nice example of Art Deco, but in a style very sympathetic to the surrounding fine buildings along Portland Place.

Always worth visiting. The public exhibitions change frequently. One down side is that it use to do the best breakfast in London, which it no longer does.

An exquisite place to host an event and get the very best or world class service. All sorts of events can be hosted and the availability of free exhibition shows makes it easy to access the building and feed your eyes. The staffs are exceptional always there to help and guild you through.

When we got here today 7.8.19 maybe around 2:30pm the temporary exhibition Playing the Picturesque was empty so my children got to use the touch pads leisurely. The pads make the screens move so it looks like you travel through the space and things pop up like parts of buildings. The man at the desk was friendly and told us there was also a small number of architecture related art upstairs & what else was on for children as well. Thank you for a nice visit.

Strange place, was there for a business function and felt the building had any architectural presence. The staff were friendly and the lunch that was provided was good.

Oh just one of London's finest places to see, inside and out. Architecturally a masterpiece...even the loos. And always a free quirky exhibition to see. Gr8 specialist book shop and good cafe. And you MUST check out Grey Wornum! GO!!!

Rather excellent facilities with grand decor especially the upper hall wooden doors with animal motifs. Also in this hall were side panels with intricate historical representations i.e. a Roman legion above and Egyptian themed Palace. I imagine architects to be inspired by such environs.

A favourite regular visit. I pop in a couple of times a year for the peace and refined beauty of this airy space. There's usually an interesting exhibition to make your visit worthwhile. And the best part - it's free!

Building is beautiful and well kept. I think they have the best toilets if you go to the basement, other floors not so much. The cafe is reasonably priced for Central London. I'll recommend and they usually have exhibitions on

Went to royal institute for a 40th anniversary party. Not really into architecture myself but what an amazing building. Very tastefully done. The people where very helpful, the room large and roomy. Our room held well over 200 people with space to spare.

The building a showcase for elegant and understated 1930's Art Deco functionalism in excellent condition and welcoming to the public. The Institute mostly promotes and celebrates British architecture. Free exhibitions, lectures , workshops, a comprehensive bookshop, library, terrace and cafe. An interesting and worthwhile destination.

Beautiful building, great location and if you like architecture they have regular exhibitions - most of them are good but I have been to a couple of disappointing ones. Nevertheless, they are free and interesting so highly recommend a visit to RIBA.

Almost opposite the Chinese Embassy. There is a nice cafeteria on the first floor. Ideal place to meet a client in town for a quiet coffee in comfort.

If you get to go inside, and iconic building, the first floor is stunning. If you can't go inside look at the bronze doors, wonderful

Fine exterior. Inside, on ground floor, there is a display gallery of three, or so, rooms which puts on regular exhibitions. These are generally open to the public at no charge. Very nice rooms. There is also a small coffee shop and a large bookshop selling architectural stuff. As far as I know, the rest of the building is closed to the public.
