Excellent service. Wide range of choices including lighter bites. Really good dessert menu. Also caters for gluten free. Made special request for no nuts on dessert and this was handled easily. Booking recommended but the squeezed us in.

Had lunch here last week. Good covid measures in place, delicious food, polite friendly staff (shout out to Roger our waiter!). Only thing that could be improved was the speed of service: we were waiting quite a bit after our main course and then dessert for staff to come back over to us.

Had an amazing lunch here today. Very impressed with the pubs efforts in Covid protection.( Good spacing between tables/ staff wearing visors/ cleaning down of tables and chairs after each customer and one way system around table area) VERY Impressed. The food was excellent! Generous portions and hot food. Happy to substitute food items ( ie mash potatoes instead of new potatoes) Home cooked food not mass production and beautifully presented. HIGHLY recommended. My friend and I are even looking at booking ahead for Christmas!! Plenty of parking also and totally accessable for disabled customers. Thank you Bear Cross!! DEFINITELY coming back!! : )

We passed here on our way out from Bournemouth, service was excellent taking the covid guidelines seriously to ensure it was safe to eat in and the food was great. Had the homemade steak and ale pie. They also offer you two portion sizes depending on your appetite and you pay accordingly.

As usual, the Bear Cross did not disappoint.
Not only does the good food represent great value but their preparation and process in managing social distancing was excellent. All servers had visors and the tables were well spaced allowing you to relax and enjoy your meal.
Will definitely be coming back again

The vegan menu was brief, but the food was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. I couldn't dip my lentil cakes into the mayonnaise dip very well, as they just fell apart as soon as the fork touched them!

Have just returned from having lunch. The restaurant has been carefully laid out to respect the conditions laid out by the government.
We felt very safe, and as old regulars it was lovely to be back. Food is as excellent as always
I’m sure it won’t be long before we’re having to book well in advance.

We came here after being turned away by two other restaurants because they were full. I'm so glad we missed out on the first two locations! Ate steak, meat was superb quality and the meringue dessert was fabulous. Really wish I'd taken some pics! They have a very good set up for social distancing if this is something that concerns you. Enjoy!

Excellent first visit after Coronavirus! All safety procedures covered but we still felt as though it was an evening out. The staff were fab and.made-us feel as though nothing was a problem. Fantastic roasts, between us we had the Beef, Pork, Lamb and Chicken. All went down very well. Desserts were lovely to. Gluten free menu had a lovely large choice too, which is nice to have. Been before, and will be going back without a doubt.
