I can't remember last time I had their red velvet, and the memories were so good. I finally came back, and It didn't disappoint. It's so soft, not too sweet, so delicious!!! Amazing red velvet, probably my favorite I've tried in London. We also had a Nutella cupcake and that was pure heaven. Also, staff was really lovely and we got a beautiful tote bag ????

Very cute bakery located in the Portobello Market.
Has a wide selection of beverages and cakes.
I ordered Salted Caramel coffee and just loved it!one of the better ones I have had so far!
The display at the place was great and I will go again to try the cakes as well

I had few time a taste of their cupcakes that I found really nice.
So for my daughter's fifth birthday I thought why not make her a plate with some assorted cupcakes but then I saw their rainbow cake and decided to take it instead.
Well to be honest with you I wouldn't have mind to paid that much for the cake if it was delicious.... BUT it wasn't! The layer where dry, the cake was dry like out of freshness. It was disappointing because my daughter didn't like it that much. I'am not a big fan of cake but don't mind having a nice slice of quality cake.
So to us it was disappointing. Next birthday I will make homemade cake instead.

Just bought a slice of their famous carrot cake. Was okay, but as noted by other customers, too sweet. £4.95 for a small take-away slice is really way too expensive for what it is. Unfriendly staff. Won't come again.

Cute little cupcake shop : I really liked the decoration, atmosphere, and of course the cupcakes (lot of choice, colours, flavors...), and even the packaging is practical and cute. There is also some cakes I think, but I am not sure...

Hi. This is nice place for me. This bakery is sooo sweet and amazing! The pink decor and atmosphere is so cute and the workers were very kind and helpful. I will definitely come here again in the future. I highly recommend the salted caramel cupcake!

The most delicious cakes! I’ve been ordering cakes here on and off for over 10 years. And now they cater to the gluten free, sugar free, vegan types too! We ordered a cake for my mums bday in the summer, on the day. They gave us the best chocolate fudge cake I’ve ever had and even wrote a message to her too. Best indulgent treat you could give yourself!!

Everytime I come by London, this is one of the places on my to do list. The cupcakes are nice but what makes me come back here is the customer service. Today when I wanted to buy one of the brownies, one of the male staff that attended to me had actually took the liberty to ask if the one eating that brownies has any allergies. He even advised me which of the brownies I bought had to be kept refrigerated. Customer service at its best. Please maintain this standard and well done.

The best cake selling place. I had this donut and I was so whelmed with these. The place in itself gives such a happy vibe. Everybody at this place is so cheerful and lively. The staff here always forget what the customer order or ignore them.I saw lots people argue with them,however they don’t care about it. After you order,remember to remind them again.Honestly coffee is good,but you need to wait a long time.

My mum went here to get my birthday cake. They only had the 18" Rainbow cake available which I don't understand why they don't have a selection? at least a couple? But she bought the £55 cake anyway . She kindly asked if she could get 'Happy Birthday' written on the cake and the person behind the counter said there's no one who can do that here right now. Are you kidding? Hand my mum the icing pen and she could do it!! Customer service was poor as well. I've been to hummingbird bakery's before, I was disappointed to hear my mum's first time was this bad. Neither of us will be visiting again.

CALLING ALL MOTHERS, EX PAT’S AND LOCALS to boycott Hummingbird Cafe. There customer service is horrendous and enough is enough. After being a loyal customer for years and years, birthdays for children, friends, family, work colleagues, I will never order another cake or cupcakes again. Arrived at 6.05pm on a lovely July summer evening to be told I could not buy cupcakes or anything. Had planned all day to go there and buy cupcakes. The till was closed. Nasty manager was rude and unobliging. Couldn’t leave cash or put a transaction through in the morning. He told me to walk to South Kensington, a half an hour walk. Each store closes at a different time but the attitude and nastiest was so off putting. We need friendly accommodating businesses not nasty mediocre ones that treat customers rudely. Cupcakes are supposed to make you happy, not ruin your day! I have put up with poor service for years but no more. I will tell all my friends and colleagues to find a new customer friendly cake shop. They don’t deliver and this shop has had poor customer service as has South Kensington with long lines for years. Go elsewhere! Not worth supporting.

The first hummingbird bakery ever. It can be small, and busy at some times, but is still packed with the love for their product and the will of leaving the best of the experiences that they had when was first opened.
If you want a pleasant time, avoid the Saturdays thought. Being a market day, the store (and Street) will be totally crowded.

Can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something about cupcakes that you simply have to love. Maybe it's the way they look or simply the way the word sounds - with such an air of enticement and allure that you simply can't resist them. If you think of cupcakes as high school kids, the cupcakes at The Hummingbird Bakery are the popular cool kids with their own flair and style that everyone else is trying to imitate. You think they're too haughty and shy away from them but if you give them a chance, you'll see that they're also kind and good-humoured and you actually enjoy spending time with them. What I mean is, the cupcakes are great, don't pass the bakery just because it seems posh or pretentious; the atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Crunchy, creamy, cookie, candy, cupcake. I find my self chanting this like a mantra every time I ogle the pastries on display here. So long, summer bod! Summer will be over in a month or so but cupcakes stick all year round. Hope my gym trainer won't read this but I binged on red velvet and black bottom and I dare say - do not regret a single bite.

When Hummingbird first opened during London's cupcake boom, I really did love this place. It was always in my top 3 of cupcake shops in the city. Now days it seems a victim of it's own hype, over-run by tourists who take a name to heart more than the quality of the product. Not worth the hype.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and this shop is so amazing. Cake price was in the higher-end of the spectrum, but I don't think anyone could have pulled off a better looking, more delectable treat at any cost. It was well worth the price for a one-of-a-kind edible work of art. It was professional, personable and most importantly, makes delicious and beautiful cake ever!
