My friend stayed at this facility after having had some serious surgeries. She was placed there to recover and receive therapy to get stronger to ultimately go back to living on her own and caring for herself. Although I wasn't able to visit her due to Covid restrictions I checked in with her 2-3 times per day over the phone. There were so many issues that should not even have been issues. The food was terrible, the scheduled personal hygiene care she should have received was cancelled or rescheduled several times and the discharge planning and preparation was the worse. When Medicare notified her that they would no longer cover the Rehabilitation services at this facility she was literally put out. Before release she was not allowed to walk on her own because she was at fall risk and her back was full of blisters from not having been out of her bed as much as she should have been. She went from release to the emergency room where she was re-admitted to the hospital and has been there since. It was shocking to see her released like this. Patient Advocacy was non existent and the people responsible for discharge planning certainly did not do their job. Most staff was great, Nurse T that took care of her wound vac as well as the Physical and Occupational therapists and the nurses and techs. She is getting ready to be released from the hospital and just found out she will be coming back to this facility. Given the situation I have mixed feelings about posting this review. I certainly don't want her to have repercussions, but I am hoping that her care can be better and she can achieve her goal of recovering to full independence.

I have been trying to call a friend who is there and it just took waiting 10 minutes for someone to answer the phone. Finally, a woman answered and I asked to be transferred to her room to speak to her. The woman who answered spoke very broken English and told me what room she was in and hung up on me! I called back and after waiting another 10 minutes she finally picked up the phone and rudely said to me, “you didn’t say you wanted to talk to her!” Clearly she lacks communication skills. I don't care or judge if English is not your first language but at least be kind and follow through with your job. At that point said she would connect me to my friends nurse and that phone was NEVER answered! I’m sitting here almost an hour later and still can’t get an answer.

Theonly great thing about this place was the overworked and WAY under staf aides. They so tried to get the patients needs taken care of all the while bathing clientsThe rest especially the food and social workers suck!!!

I was transferred from Lovelace women’s hospital on December 24 to recover from kidney failure and to receive physical therapy because I was not able to walk due to my illness. During my 10 days I was at Albuquerque Heights the nursing and therapy I received on the skilled unit were fantastic. I would like to thank my nurses Tenzin, Citialli, Janica and Kyle for keeping me on track with my meds and my follow up appointments with my doctors. My CNAs for three assistants with my daily needs and your friendship during my stay. And to my physical and occupational therapist Vin, Marlene and Rachel thank you guys for working with me and pushing me so I can get my strength back and walking properly again an my housekeepers Marie and Lupe keeping my room spotless . I would recommend Albuquerque Heights to anyone that needs skilled care thank you guys again for the fantastic job.

I stayed here at Abq Heights to recover from COVID and needed to get stronger. And I have to say from the nurses, CNAs, therapy dept and housekeeper on the front skilled unit were amazing. I have no complaints in this facility. Call lights were answered timely, staff were nice and caring. I would like to specially thank Nurses Kyle, Janica, Tenzin and MArlene, Albert and Citlalli. CNAs Liz, Adrianna, Kinami, Lucia and Allan. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

So far not impressed. Been trying to find out how to set up a video chat and not getting anywhere. Has anyone else had this problem. My wife and I have been married for 59 years and now seem to be unable to communicate.

My wife spent 14 days in Albuquerque Heights Transitional Care Unit. The staff were very professional and extremely caring to her every need. The facility administration and unit manager are the most outstanding people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in a  healthcare setting. As a retired Nurse and healthcare provider I was impressed with the high level of excellence the team at Albuquerque Heights displays in their day to day operations.  The room my wife stayed in was well appointed and there was plenty of room for me to bring my trundle bed from home to spend the nights with my wife. Every employee was very friendly and quick to offer their assistance in whatever was required. The facility is very clean and bright and feels like home . Both my wife and I were a bit sad to leave. We are very grateful to all of the team here.

Albuquerque Heights is an amazing facility to work with. They are very conscientious of patient care and great at caring for the whole family. They are excellent at identifying additional resources that can help patients and their families navigate the healthcare system and the ever changing needs for our loved ones.

I have mixed feelings about this place. My father is here and has had some minor issues and one horrific issue . However I spoke to the director of Nursing and she said that she would do retraining of her employees. I know that mistakes happen, and I tried to give them the benefit of the correcting it going forward. The Alzheimer's unit my father is in is staffed with some very caring nurses and aides and some that seem bothered to even be there. I can tell you that I agree with several of the reviews that the communication is horrible and it feel like there is no accountability or very good supervision over their employees. Also I have an issue with seeing 5 star reviews that are put there by there own employees. The entire purpose of having reviews is of no value, if you are going to offset the bad reviews with 5 star reviews by your employees.

I had to stay on the nurses or care wasn’t provided. The food was horrible and cold, PT was great! Nurses and techs would ask if I needed anything but they never came back with what I needed. Blood pressure wasn’t monitored or what was eaten. I was home 2 days and now back in the hospital. Not a good place to be if you are not well!

Let me start by saying the Staff at Albuquerque Heights Rehab were kind and helpful. However the experience for my wife was the absolute worse. First of all the food was ALWAYS cold and they very rarely got any kind of meat with breakfast even when requested. We filled out sheets with choices for meals but she rarely got what she wanted. So why fill out the meal sheets? She had stated she was not fond of chicken so one night all she got was a cup of boiled broccoli, a cup of pudding and a lil glass of orange koolaid. The solution was for me to bring in food for us to share. The bathroom she shared was out of paper towels for 4 days even when they were requested. When a family places a loved one in a Rehab Facility or facility of any type, we'd expect too receive far better service than we received at your facility, especially the food. It was a very very disappointing experience for both my wife and family.

Never go to this place for rehabilitation. The food there has no taste and no one eat the food. Then when I got released I took them days just to get the papers done. Now when I got released I got a bill from them saying I owed them $1500.00 for Copay for staying there. I had my insurance that care of all my Copay if I had one and they didn't have a Copay for that place. They are charging the patients and not telling them that will be a Copay. I hope everyone sees this review cause I would like this place to go out of business. Even the cleaning of the rooms were bad the bathrooms never got cleaned. They never had rules on when family came to visit,my room mate and I had 2 of them and my first one they came in and was so loud and rude and they had at least 9 to 10 in the room and I was trying to get my rest and they were there over 11 pm and having screaming kids in there also. They never came to tell them anything. Please get the word out about Genesis, which is Albuquerque Heights Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

This place is awful. But New Mexico has awful or bought off inspectors. No working bathroom, food is GROSS and no care for patient. Leave our loved ones in filth all day. Why do we have to put up with this. Our loved ones and us have worked to help our community. Now a day nobody wants to work. Then they say it's the patient that does not do what they want them to. This is from the top down!!!

I can't speak to the quality of care at this facility because I came into the situation after my family member had passed away. I have called four times today and left four voice mails and am yet to receive a return phone call. My initial voice mail stated the reason for my call and the following three voice mails simply said I was calling again (!!!!!) and to please return my call. Also - why do I have to be CONNECTED to the business office's voice mail - why can't I have a number where I can dial directly? Based on my experience today, it's best for all involved that I was not involved while my family member was receiving care here. If their medical care is on a par with their business office employees - heaven help them.

Very terrible everyone unorganized the take long time for everything to get done! Theropy slacks off alot and don't work with you to get better! They all look so careless. The food here has no flavor so nasty the food! When your in terrible pain they take lots of time to bring them to you ! You can be dying here and they won't care they will take there sweat time for everything it's horrible here like in hell!!! If it was for me I wouldn't even give them a star! But there no option for that!!! I also got a bacteria in my urine kuz the nurses asked me how long I've had I told them and after DayZ the have the nerve to tell me they takin it out because I got a bacteria in my bladder and that was there fault they never took my foley out!!!

Trying to get a hold of anyone who can assist with issues is almost impossible. In person 50% are just passified then forgotten. Via phone calls go unanswered, going directly to voicemail and finally ignored.

This facility has been a nightmare. The staff rarely answer the phones or return calls. They also repeatedly pick up and hang up the phones instead of answering. They will also try to avoid doing their job and try to tell you everything is your responsibility.

it is almost impossible to get anyone to answer the phone.. When the person is not in, the answering machine says their box is full and you cannot leave a message.
