Dr. Richmond saved my life. He is absolutely hands down the best provider I have ever worked with. After a terrible experience with my previous psychiatrist and her recklessness in prescribing my medication, I thought I would never get control of my mental health. Because of Dr. Richmond dialing in my medication so carefully, my daily life has never been better. Dr. R genuinely cares and is invested in his patients and their success. I am so incredibly blessed to have been recommended to him.

Doctor Richmond and his staff are truly amazing. I will warn you in advance, expect to wait sometimes as they can get a little behind during the day through some appointments. Though, I never mind waiting as Dr. Richmond is very thorough and very clear and very understanding. Not only does Dr. Richmond know his field, but he is constantly giving direction and advise and support to ensure patient growth. The office staff was also able to get a prior authorization for a prescription through the insurance in about an hour (special thank you to Elvia for that). I would recommend that you book appointments in advance since the appointments fill up quickly. I could not recommend this team enough. 10/5 if I could!

Unfortunately, communication between the front desk and clinical staff is utterly nonexistent. Messages aren’t relayed, emails aren’t answered and the process is overall unprofessional. I’ve voiced my concern with staff and these issues continue. I would caution individuals who have complex issues or who those require crisis intervention to seek assistance in an environment that’s more organized, person-centered and able to manage the complexities of a mental health practice. The struggling staff (clinical and non-clinical) can make things worse for patients who are needing clear, organized and professional engagement, especially in a timely manner. Edit: 8/1/2020 Similar to other reviewers, I can attest to the question around providers in this practice providing safe, ethical care. I expressed my concern about the above issues with the RNP, Jamie. When I first addressed the issues with her, the conversation between us did not go well. However, we both put in an effort and it seemed we had turned the situation around. She prescribed new medications and we arranged a follow-up appointment. The following week I received a letter stating that "our therapeutic alliance has been damaged" and would no longer see me. It's interesting that she was unable to discuss this during our appointment when she had the opportunity to do so in a direct manner. I have years of experience in the mental health field and this is simply not the way things are handled clinically when a patient addresses valid concerns. Reviews are here for a reason and my intent is to provide validation to other patients who've experience similar situations with this practice. This is not the norm. There are excellent providers and clinics out there.

Dr. Richmond and staff are amazing! I feel lucky to have found them through a referral from one of his patients. I have been seeing him for a few years. I was literally on the brink of giving up. I trust him. However, I came to him very fragile. Dr. Richmond helped me realize how strong I can be, when I need to be. He takes my medication protocol & mental health very seriously and adjusts my medication as needed - if needed. . Unlike other psychiatrists I have seen, I am given the opportunity to talk about what is going on and not just handed another prescription. Just knowing that I am in his care, makes me feel better. He listens intently and responds accordingly with care, kindness and a ton of knowledge. Yup....I experience times when I have to leave a message, (that has gotten much less) but I ALWAYS get a response and so does my pharmacy, as if I am the most important patient in their care. Even when I am in crisis mode and get their voice mail - I KNOW I am in good hands. Jaxeline (sp?) is one of his assistants. She answers the phone quite a bit. She is on his front line in making things happen behind the scenes for me all while communicating to me without saying it, that YES, I am SO important! (Just like Dr. R) Thank you. Lisa Reynolds

I too thought Dr. Richmond was a kind person when I sat in his office. In fact, he may be a good doctor. The problem with this office is their inability to fulfill their obligations after you leave the office. There are other reviews on here that note that patients were left without prescription refills. That happened to me also. I find it ironic that the office manager, Desiree, is able to find time to respond to favorable reviews. She is unable; however, to return a phone call. Typically, I do not write reviews like this, because it's not worth my time. In this instance, it is well worth my time. It was also worth my time to file a complaint with the state medical board due to the unprofessional and potentially dangerous "care" they claim to provide. In my situation, I expended the additional effort and cost to seek additional care that mitigated the risk to my well-being. If Des or Dr. Richmond reads this, you're playing a very dangerous game with the mental and physical health of your patients. My complaint was dropped, but I did not suffer long-term injury because of you. If you continue to selectively care for patients, It's a gamble whether that luck continues.

Dr. Richmond is an awesome doctor. I have gone through several doctors and he is the most accommodating, helpful, thoughtful, kind doctor that actually knows what he is talking about. The staff is also great. I did have a couple issues with my billing, but Des was quick to fix it. They really do care about their clients. I am very thankful to have a good doctor.

Dr. Richmond and his team are the best I've ever encountered. I've been to many different psychiatrists over the years due to moves and changing insurances, and they're my favorite. Dr. Richmond is not only extremely competent, he has a warm and assuring manner. He genuinely cares about his patients and their mental health. Shayla was my TMS coordinator and, again, extremely warm, professional, and caring. I have always felt like I'm in excellent hands. Cannot recommend this practice enough.

Dr. Richmond is a good psychiatrist. He even lets me email him for small requests, so I don't have to go into the office. This saves me a lot of time and money. The staff is solid too.

Dr. Richmond is a caring, kind and thorough professional. It's refreshing to find a practitioner who provides perspective on your health and reassurance moving forward. I see some negative reviews here and am, frankly, surprised. This is still a relatively new practice and perhaps there are issues in the process of being resolved. My experiences have only been positive. Unfortunately, so few docs in Denver accept insurance (and provide high-quality care at the same time). Dr. Richmond is a gem.

I am a colleague and Psychotherapist. I began to hear from my clients about how great Dr. Richmond was and how pleased they were to get in quickly with his office. He is one of the only psychiatrist offices that I currently know of that accepts insurance and is accepting new clients. I have begun to refer a number of clients for medication evaluations and appreciate Dr. Richmond's availability to coordinate care.

If I could give this place zero stars i would. I had my initial appointment in December of 2018. I had asked that my information be released to my primary care doctor who refereed me to Psyche and filled out all applicable documents to do so. On February 1st 2019, I contacted my Primary Care Physician and they had still not sent over my records. At that time, i requested that they be sent again. Paper work was filled out and emailed to them again. As of the time of this review, no records have been forwarded to my doctor. 3 months to release records is unacceptable to a medical practice. On top of all of this, I went in for a re-evaluation for ADHD initially which i filled out a sheet of paper and spoke with someone who was not a doctor and this cost $200 and took less than 10 minutes. I understand that DOCTORS typically cost this much but to see a nurse and pay that much is absurd. On top of the $200, they drug tested me in order to get my prescription that cost me personally over $600. This place is a scam, i would recommend going to a different doctor.

TMS has a warm and supportive presence that clients can immediately feel. They genuinely cares about her clients and goes above and beyond to ensure that she is providing the best of care. Thier work is informed, compassionate and gently challenging. It is with great confidence that I refer clients to this company because I know that they are in the best of hands.

The premiere TMS Therapy in Denver. TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation ) was originally used in the treatment of depression for quite some time but now after a lot of research in the field, there is evidence that the TMS therapy (this office uses Neurostar's chairs) can be effective in the treatment of many other different brain disorders. The way their machine works is that a magnet similar in strength to that used in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine is used to stimulate nerve cells in the area of the brain thought to control mood. These magnetic pulses may have a positive effect on the brain’s neurotransmitter levels, making long-term remission possible.

Dr. Richmond is hands down the best psychiatrist I have ever had. I have been in and out of mental health preventative care since I was 7 years old. This is the first psychiatrist that I have been to who actually listens to my concerns and acknowledges them. He does not let you leave his office without making sure that you feel supported and know the next steps for self-care and medication adherence between appointments. He encourages you to call and make an appointment earlier than the one you set if anything goes wrong or medications aren't working. Most psychiatrists that I have been to have months of waiting lists and they try to rush you in and out at each appointment. They don't actually listen to you or offer any feedback on what you're going through. It's mostly like, "Oh, this medication isn't working. Well here is a new one to remedy the side effects of that one. See you in 4 weeks. Call the office if there's an issue." It seems that most psychiatrists give the impression that they are just there to make sure the meds are okay and hand you a new script, all in under 20 minutes so that they can rush in the next patient. Not so with Dr. Richmond. He welcomes you into his office and the first thing he asks is "So, tell me how you have been doing." Appointments still are kept under 30 minutes but you don't feel like you are being rushed through and not being heard. Most psychiatrists also tend to be very pushy with some medications and unwilling to experiment with different medications if the ones prescribed are not a good fit for you. The first thing Dr. Richmond told me at my first appointment was that "The best medication is the one that you are willing to take." He doesn't push medications on you if you aren't comfortable with it and he isn't afraid to try different medications until you find one that gives you the most benefit with the least side effects and can truly start living your life again. I will recommend everyone to Dr. Richmond and I feel blessed to have been referred to him and his wonderful office staff so quickly after relocating to Denver in February.

Lovely people- the lady in the office was so kind and patient as well as dr Richmond. i have seen many therapists and psychiatrists and have never felt so comfortable and cared for. I have never even written a review for anything before but this was worthy. I feel hopeful and cared for instead of leaving feeling worse as I usually do. I would recommend him to anyone. Also possibly the only psychiatrist in the Denver area that accepts insurance.

I am very conflicted with this particular review. Dr. Richmond is nothing short of phenomenal and the best medical professional I've ever come across by far, which says a lot as I've been to an alarming number of doctors in my life. However, it is impossible to get in touch with his office. They never answer the phone, and when you leave a message you're lucky if you even get a call back at all, and if you do, chances are it won't be until a few days later. With as good as Dr. Richmond is, it's still worth it, as shocking as that may be. Regardless, it seems quite obvious that the rest of the staff don't deserve to work at this office. Even when you do finally get in touch with someone, they're snarky with a bad attitude and it seems like they all hate working there.

Dr. Richmond and his office staff are running an unorganized, unprofessional, life threatening practice if you truly need serious care. Dr. Richmond will NEVER return a phone call personally, even after agreeing to do so. He prescribed me a medication that I told him I was allergic to at our 1st appt. If all you want is medication thrown at you...he's your guy. If you want real help, I would seek another practice!

I am a current patient and am FURIOUS with this office - they don’t have an on call number and had a FULL mailbox over the holidays. Linda didn’t call in my prescription like she was supposed to, so am not out of meds and can not get a hold of anyone here. They run this place terribly, and do not give confidence to people desperately needing stability and faith in their mental health professionals.

I'm a former photographer former a guy today artist working as a painter and I'm incredibly grateful to the people of letting my case is one of a pretty classic presentation of major depressive disorder I began to see a psychiatrist began trying any depressants which didn't really have any success with any of them and I tried them all without effective results everybody's experience is very different with depression for me is literally the most painful memory I have I can never lationships of people days crying for no reason and understand what was going on the way I came to neurostar TMS is that my mother is a PhD research scientist microbiologist with a long history of farming development evaluated the treatment and determined that this was a really valid way for me to go I do consider myself data-driven analytical thinker and I've read all the research papers are published going on two years since I've had experience. His symptoms of my depression was talking with my mother and she said something and made a joke or something and I actually die smiled and she said I can't remember your smile definitely relieved what are symptoms of my depression where everything Pryor had not been successful having a life that I didn't get to have one of the reasons I fell into photography was that I really wanted to be a painter but I was afraid that I couldn't do that you know it was too hard. Well today I'm a painter and happier than ever!

Tms therapy here is top notch, provided by a neurostar machine which has gotten amazing press and reviews recently. In Denver, this seems to be the “go to” place for tms because of location and the very friendly staff. There’s a lot if information on the site as well that can guide you through the process and journey. I actually think a Cool thing would be to search the Instagram hashtag for tms or neurostar and watch people show themselves through their journey. Super impressive.

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! Being a patient here was only a waste of my time, money, and tears. I had to update my prior review because it just keeps getting worse. First of all they do a rush job on all appointments unless you ask for an extended visit. They talk to me like they would talk to a child and never explicitly ask me what changes I want to see or what my bigger plans are for stabilizing. In addition they are impossible to get ahold of. I always have to call multiple times before I get a response because they take a long time to respond to voicemails. I know they are busy by their voicemail claims to just call your pharmacy if you have any medication questions, which completely neglects the need for approved refills. Most recently they didn’t answer any calls and then denied my pharmacy’s request for refills on cymbalta, which isn’t a medication you can just stop taking without severe withdrawal symptoms. My own therapist has been trying (unsuccessfully) to contact this office for weeks to make sure she and my psychiatrist are on the same page. Needless to say we are both really confused about why it is so difficult for them to respond to either one of us about something important that concerns them. This is my final update because I won’t ever step foot in this office again. • I really had a lot of hope when I first started going here. I wanted help with diagnosing exactly what was happening and get help with med management with the goal of not being on the 4 or 5 rotating meds that I was on prior. My goal is to one day be med free. They don’t ask any questions. They don’t ask why you are here or what your goal is. They just want to write a prescription and walk away. I might be foolish wanting some actual advice and help when it comes to my mental health, but I haven’t gotten any applicable skills from this place other than a few prescriptions that didn’t end up working. When the Psychiatrist basically dismissed my PMS-related depression I opted to see the female nurse practitioner, hoping she would be more understanding. She didn’t ask me anything about why I wanted to see her instead, why I was going in the first place. She seemed to have no curiosity whatsoever about how I was mentally. Currently in tears because I feel like there is really no one that can help me. Trying to find another psychiatrist is gonna be brutal but it beats going here. •
