I have now completed photography 1 and 2 and loved it. The teachers are so welcoming and knowledgeable. The courses have great content with a good combination of in class lectures and shooting sessions for practice. Thank you Debbie and Holger!

The week was very informative and packed with information. Andrea, our tutor kept to the schedule and left us with plenty of scope to improve our photography with confidence. A truly excellent week.

Attended both the beginners and intermediate photography courses in succession and will never view the world quite the same again. I know understand how to operate the camera, the art of taking a good photo, (auto's a thing of the past, manual only now) and a genuine understanding of the many photographic opportunities around us. Big thanks to Nando our tutor who both taught and inspired us throughout the course. Would recommend to anyone looking to improve their photo skills.

The people from LSP make you feel at home right away and are well-versed in their practice. The small group size is conducive to a constructive atmosphere and means that you get a chance to see others' work and share your own. There is a mix of students from the area as well as students traveling internationally (I live in Seattle and took this course as part of a summer vacation) and a range of ages. You are welcomed regardless of your background or goals with photography. If you are looking for places to stay in the area, I had a good experience with the Youth Hostel on Central. Because it's a hostel, you obviously don't get the privacy that you would with a hotel, but the staff and guests alike were friendly and helpful.

Lovely week-end at LSP with Nando! I just finished the level 1 workshop! It is perfect for beginners! I'm very happy to finally be able to use my camera in full manual mode! I was expecting more time for practice, but it worked very well like that! I didn't know all the possibilities that I have with my camera, so it was very good to get all the technical details (ISO, shutter speed, aperture, lens size, light meter and so on), with plenty of examples! Thanks again for the great week-end and the perfect training! Only one think which could have been better, get a printout of the slides at the beginning of the training!

I just recently did the Workshop 1 course and thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt lots of useful new things, along with learning what I was doing wrong before. The location, training material and our instructor Andrea were all excellent. I met some new contacts and I hope to do the Workshop 2 very soon.

London School of Photography is one of the best place whether you are a beginner or a professional who wants to upgrade your skill. I have been a photographer for 7 years and yet i still learn a lot from the amazing teachers who explains everything very clearly and logically. They have amazing understanding of the basic of photography, the law of physics which helps a lot with the lighting as well as the challenges photographers will face in the workplace beause they are also professional photographers. I would recommend LSP for eveyone.

I have recently attended and completed the 4 days Food & Product Photography course. If you are interested in learning secrets and techniques behind the food/product photography, this course is simply what you are looking for. It has been such a complete and professional workshop. The restricted number of attendees allows you to be really a part of the process of creation of the scene, preparation of the equipment, composing of the photographs. I have seen and learnt many techniques and had the opportunity to ask any time I needed a further explanations. I highly recommend this workshop. Thank you LSP. Isabella

Having enjoyed taking shots for our website and promotional literature with my iPhone, I decided to upgrade and buy myself a "proper" camera. Of the companies offering weekend courses, this seemed to have as many positive reviews as any other, so I took the plunge and booked. Being aimed at beginners, I was expecting this course to give me a workable knowledge of the basics of photography - ISO, shutter speed and aperture - how they work together and how to apply them. With this is mind, I think it would have been better to have spent the majority of Saturday in the classroom, cameras in hand, working through the settings; the majority of Sunday outside practising what we had learnt the previous day. This didn't happen. On the day I attended (Saturday, I decided it wasn't worth wasting another day as I had work projects to catch up on), there was little structure to the course, and I felt too much time was spent on things which could have been supplied as notes at the end of the weekend. Talking of which, we were given no course notes at the start of the weekend and were asked to make notes if necessary. The tutor didn't pause while we were taking notes, so a lot of information was missed. In the end, I gave up. To cap it all, just as we were about to leave, we were asked whether we wanted the course notes "...now, or tomorrow..."..! These totalled 200 pages and were emailed over to us to print out ourselves - no hardcopies! Without having a full understanding of the functions of my camera, we headed outside and started taking shots. Unfortunately, once outside, it was often impossible to hear what was being said, and so I ended up making the best of it, which I feel I shouldn't have had to do. While I appreciate many people are very happy with the service you provide, I feel the course could and should have been so much more. I wouldn't recommend.

I did the full time program and it was excellent. I found kind teachers, open and very professional. The school was also very flexible in case I needed to change a date of a course, no problem! The teachers are all very kind to help you even when you finished their course! At the end of the course my way to look at things changed,I learned a lot and my passion for photography increased. I am very thankful for this gentle and inspiring environment, for the great people I could meet there, from all over the world. Thanks LSP, thanks Antonio for having created this nice container of creative people!!!

London School of Photography truly is the place to go if you want to learn anything, photography related. I recently purchased a camera for myself and wanted to make the most of it and immerse myself in the world of photography, I signed up for the 4 day course, in which I had Aldo for level one and Diogo for level two. Both Aldo and Diogo superceded my expectations, they were so informative, passionate, and their lessons were enjoyable. Any questions I had were all answered extremely well with details and examples. The courses all in all were well structured and we'll executed with theory based learning and then practical tasks that let us practice the skills that we had just learnt about. After the four day course, I also did the lightroom essentials course with Giovanni. And I must say 'wow' he taught us how to use the majority of the software in two days. This wasn't just him saying this does this and that does that, it was him explaining when, how and what to use at every stage. He also talked us through organisation and his workflow, which were all very helpful. Overall, any of these courses are going to help you in some way or form with your photography, so I do recommend them and cannot fault them at all. I will be going back for the photojournalism-street photography and portraiture courses.

LSP IS PHENOMENAL!! I took the one week long portrait photography class this past June 2018 and absolutely fell in love with the course layout and the fantastic information. Gio was so knowledgeable and kind, and as a young portrait photographer I felt that i could ask any question at all without fear of judgement. Also, as someone traveling from Los Angeles for the course, I felt extremely welcome in the learning space. THANK YOU for such a great experience, I have learned so much!!!

I have attended and completed the 4 day level 1 and 2 workshops an Lightroom essential training workshop and would recommend them both. Previously I had only shot in either full auto or aperture priority mode on my camera and, following the level one and two workshops, I now only shoot in manual mode and feel I have moved beyond worrying about the co trolls of the camera and focus instead on composing and capturing the image. Aldo and Diogo were both good at instructing with a lot of knowledge about the subject and things were explained in a clear way with enough time given to each topic area. At the conclusion of the course both offered their e-mails for follow up support should there be any issues. The Lightroom essential workshop was delivered by Gio to a high standard. There was a lady on the course who was not the most computer literate person I have met and he remained patient and explained things in a way that everyone could understand as well as providing tips on the best way to use different tools and on his workflow. I enjoyed my time at LSP, would recommend it to anybody looking for photography training, and hope to attend a further workshop once I have honed my skills.

I recently completed the level 1 intro to photography with Giovanni. The 2 day course was personable and informative. Gio worked with everyone’s equipment and tailored his tuition depending on the gear we had. A nice mix of theory and practical based assignments. It was exactly what I wanted, which was a basic introduction into manual use of a DSLR camera, and gives me the foundations to go on and practice, with the intention to attend further courses in the future. Thanks Gio!

I got in touch with LSP because I wanted some help with jewellery photography which (I think) is a really difficult and niche area. I booked one to one sessions with Giovanni who was a mine of information. He came across as an experienced professional taking me through professional techniques and processes and making it all appear totally accessible. Gio is also a specialist in post-production - that was very helpful too. My pictures are actually really good now, and getting better all the time! I also did a week's course at LSP, again with Gio, in a group dealing with portrait photography. It was a really well constructed course but Gio shaped it around the requirements of the group, technical explanations, lots of off-the-cuff bits of valuable information, useful assignments. Being in a group meant swapping ideas and talking about each other's work. Gio is a supportive, enthusiastic and encouraging tutor. I got a lot out of my courses at LSP - I'd recommend it to anybody who takes photography seriously. The school is central and easy to get to, friendly and well organised.

I completed the six month part time professional course. The course was a very positive developmental experience for a keen amateur such as myself, with a particular interest in documentary and street photography. The LSP instructors helped me to develop a better understanding of the technical side of photography, and to nurture a more critical eye through the study of leading photographers past and present. The School is a very friendly, supportive environment where tutors are on first name terms with students. To my knowledge, LSP does not provide formal qualifications as some others in London offer, but my personal preference was to prioritise small group teaching (classes were typically 5-7 students) over a recognised qualification, and to learn from working photographers who know the realities of the business. The range of instructors used by the school is generally a good thing, drawing in a variety of different professional backgrounds and specialisms. Teaching styles do vary among the trainers, with the result that I felt less engaged by some of the teaching modules than others, but the overall experience was immensely positive. The course undoubtedly helped me to substantially raise the quality of my work, and to begin developing a more defined photographic style. I am very happy to recommend LSP to others seeking to improve their photography.

Having completed Level 1 & 2 I would certainly recommend LSP for excellent teaching - after Level 1 I felt like I had a new camera. The teachers are really knowledgeable, inspiring and enthusiastic, the small groups mean you get real value for money and the teaching material is clear and very useful both during and after courses. Thanks LSP.

I would recommend to everyone who would like to improve and gain professional knowledge of making great pictures and to be a real photographer!. I really enjoyed this school. I did full time course and this gave me the possibility to figure it out which one was my right way in photography, the one which suits me more. Every classes gave me some necessary knowledge and tips, useful to complete the profile of a photographer who knows what he is talking about. This school gave me the possibility to feel that I am a photographer. Toutors are something of special ! The passion they have to teach photography is amazing! I wouldn't be able to say who has been the best for me. All of them gave me some special touch. They believe in every single student. The small groups of people in each class make everything more friendly and confortable giving the possibility to gain new relationship. The only other thing to say is that I was really sad my last day thinking that this amazing experience was finished! thank you Lsp

Having spent my last two weekends with LSP on their Level 1 and 2 courses I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the courses offered here to anyone looking to dive into digital photography and give themselves the chance truly understand what their DSLR can do. It'll refresh and re-invigorate anyone's love of photography but particularly those looking for a relaxed, friendly but undeniably well informed chance to learn and experiment with their camera.

The Weekend Creative Photography course was superb. To start Holger was stimulating, knowledgable and an excellent tutor for the two days. Technically the course was easily at my knowledge level but Holger happily answered questions from those on the course not at my level of technical understanding. The tasks were fun as well creative, they pushed me in directions I hadn't felt confident to try before. We were then given very constructive feedback and comments about the end results. In summary the course set me free from my caution and has really fired my enthusiasm; it was worth every penny spent. One piece of feedback, students should be warned that there is inevitably a lot of walking on the two days and people with physical disabilities would have some difficulties undertaken the course.Thank you

I had an excellent time at LSP. The location was very easy to get to off Holborn Circus and the office was clean and modern. Our instructor always had biscuits and we had access to tea and water which was very nice. The course was broken down into 4 days of lecture and hands on experience. We built on our skills everyday, and had a lot of time to practice, both in the classroom and at amazing locations like St. Pauls, The Barbican, the British Museum and Covent Garden. The assignments were fun, almost like a scavenger hunt at times. My classmates were exceedingly friendly and diverse. We had students from the North of England, Surrey, Norway, Israel, Russia and America. With an Irish and Italian teacher, the entire experience was very multicultural and exciting.

I have completed 2 courses with LSP (Level 1 and 2) and have absolutely loved both. I have learnt so much and have increased my skills and confidence with the camera. The teachers are so knowledgeable, patient and keen to share their experience and thoughts making LSP a fantastic place to learn and grow. I would not hesitate to recommend LSP to anyone and I'll be heading back for the Creative Photography course later in the year. Thank you to LSP for taking so much care and providing such a wonderful place to learn.

Just completed Level 1 workshop over the weekend, it was great experience. At first I was not sure between level 1 and 2 but I am glad I've started from the level one. I love photography but never actually learnt much about it, love taking any sort of photos, my first dslr Canon 1100 was great and easy to use but then I've upgraded to Mark II and it felt the right time to do the course. Nando was our instructor, very knowledgable in the field, very friendly attentive, helpful and patient, encourages any type of questions and always open to help and advise. Now I am booking Level 2 course too, it was inspiring, fun course, that helped me to learn about my new camera and about photography and various styles and basics that I didn't know. Definitely if you are considering about the course go ahead and do it, you'll love it!

I learnt a lot during my Level 1 workshop with Nando. It was very well structured, lots of topics covered, and at the same time fun and meaningful. I will strongly recommend this course to anyone thinking of getting started with photography or people like me who had been taking pictures for ages intuitively. I look forward to taking mroe coruses with LSP.Regards, cashmira

I did the beginner's course at LSP about 5 years ago - which really opened up my photography world and got me off the auto setting! I returned a couple of weeks ago for the week long portrait course - and my big learning this time was a removal of my 'flash phobia'. It was a pleasant surprise that we spent quite a lot of time on flash and really explored the ETTL and manual options, culminating in the Friday assignment with a model on location. It was really good that we were made to organise and run this whole shoot ourselves, just as we would have to do in the real world. I got some wonderful shots using the techniques I'd learned. The new LSP location in Hatton Garden is great - the adjacent Leather Lane is full of food carts offering some great lunch options - and potential photos. My couple of suggestions to make the course even better would be: 1. A deeper look a the techniques of more portrait photographers - maybe picking out one subject and seeing how different photographers had approached it with different techniques. 2. The Tuesday afternoon trip to the National Portrait Gallery was interesting preparation for the Wednesday self-portrait assignment, but as all their pictures can now be viewed online - maybe we could have done this virtually and devoted the time to learning some more techniques? Just a thought... Many thanks, Peter

My wife and I did the 4 Days Photography Course at LSP the 1.-5. of july. The school is just amazing, excellent teachers, really nice classrooms, perfect location, all in all just flawless in all aspects. We came all the way from Norway, just for the course and we really enjoyed it. We have already booked our next courses with LSP and will be coming back several times. This is excellent value for money! I recommend London School of Photograpy to everyone I see. It's a gem, even in international standard, well worth the travel. After the first course, we both will use LSP for a "full education" of all courses. For you who as ourselves travel from abroad, the schedule makes it possible to combine day-courses and evening-courses on same dates. As for hotels near for those who need a place to stay, I do recommend Z hotel Soho. It's a 5 minute walk from school and really a perfect spot. Not the cheapest you can find, but also WELL worth the money. Nice, new, tidy and very personal. The combination for the school and the hotel made our stay in London perfect. We will be back for more courses at LSP and stay at the same hotel. Thank you London School of photography! We are coming back soon! Best wishes, Aasmund and Tara Aanestad-Bakke.
