Grove Vale Library

Nice space, very clean however, quite small. Children’s areas is not closed off from adult study so at times can be noisy. Only 3 computers available and most of the time booked up! Friendly staff and good place to study (when quite).

Every time I come to the Library, the door opens at least 10min later than the time table says. Mostly 15/20 min late! Otherwise very nice little library!

visited the new site of the library for the first time and found the team a little rude and lifeless. The library manager seemed a little grumpy and the assistant offered help when I asked followed by one word answers when I asked 2 other questions. no ‘hello’, ‘do you need help’ etc Not sure if anyone from the former Grove Vale Library team work here, they really knew the community well, had a smile and always helped out. The welcoming warmth and customer service of Grove Vale Library is forever gone, really sad to see things change, the last 20-30 years of Grove Vale library will forever be a cherished memory of mine and will only remain in the past.. The new build itself is wonderful, a range of books for adults but not so much within the children’s And teen section in my opinion. Could do with more private spaces to sit down and read but not sure if they will be able to add in those seating spots given the way it was designed.

This library has a cosy space for toddlers and kids , good variety of children’s books. The staff are friendly and helpful.

New space is beautiful however the library assistant on duty today did not know how to use the self service machine or the computer and was not able to reserve a book for me. Not very useful !
