I love and miss The British Library. Counting days until it is possible to go there again, as a foreign researcher, to read marvellous, precious, rare books in Reading Rooms all day long.

What an amazing place to visit! Their 'Treasures' room was really interesting. The old manuscripts on display were jaw-dropping!! If you need any inspiration to learn or study or read just go sit and relax in this library! It is an amazing environment!

The paid special exhibitions are top notch and worth every penny. My tip is to avoid visiting on the first or last weekend of any paid exhibition as they tend to be far too busy. The British Libary is a much visit, whether you are a tourist or a Londoner. The library building is huge and contains an incredible 170m items, which is the largest collection in the world.Access to most parts of the library is free. I highly recommend the daily guided tours of the library which are free and conducted by one of the libraries knowledgeable staff.

An open to all library that made UK as one of the great country of knowledge and wisdom. Prepared to come back, especially for the exhibition. The bookshops of the library and the bookstores nearby are already worth a special trip for wisdom lovers.

I wish there was more of the Library to see. But still it was a good place to visit. Great idea with the stamp collection. I liked how one could "feel life" outside with people sitting in the sunshine, drinking coffee and reading.

Fantastic place to sit down and write. Plenty of coffee shops inside/nearby and loads of spaces to charge your laptop or phone while writing. Have since gotten a membership card (£80 a year) and have been enjoying too food, drink and atmosphere of the members room.

This place is the best to do some work, study, visit the reading rooms and large book collections, stamps, have a coffee - a good one - spend the day reading or surfing the internet (connection is quite reliable and fast). There are free water fountains and toilets in every floor. A cafe outside and inside. So basically you can spend all day long at the library without needing to go out. If you're a freelancer, and you have to meet a deadline, seeing all the people around you in focus mode will motivate you to run the extra mile required for the last body of work. Fully recommended.

I went to see the Sand Mandala today, made by the Tibetans Monks from the Drepung Kongpo Monastery in south India. It was mind blowing to experience the extremely skilful Monks creating a magnificent masterpiece of art. ❤

A place to see several prized documents in history - a Gutenberg Bible and the Magna Carta. Free to visit and easy to get to. Can pop in and pop out quickly. You can spend 15 minutes here or hours. Definitely worth a stop if you are interested in seeing a piece of important history.

The Library is open to everyone who has a need to use its collections. Anyone with a permanent address who wishes to carry out research can apply for a Reader Pass; they are required to provide proof of signature and address.

The national library of the United Kingdom and an absolute must visit if in the city. There's always exhibitions going on, both paid and free. Currently, there's a special exhibition to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci. Absolutely worthwhile exhibition to visit to experience the genius of the man. The library also has free exhibits and on the day I visited, there's on on "treasures" of the library with Magna Carta and Shakespeare's First Folio on display.

I really needed a quiet place to sit down and get some work done. The British library is the perfect place to do that. There's also a cafe and restaurant here which makes everything more convenient. I love coming here.

Great place to study, work or, surprisingly, have lunch. There are reading rooms that are just for members, yet there is also enough space to do what you need to outside of them. For example, dedicated tables and sofas or chairs, or chairs with special desks. There’s also a great gift shop with cards, books and other little things that all could be “nerdy” gifts. Check out the exhibitions, there might be some cool ones. They change quite often, so once you visit again, you may see a different thing. The food in canteen and cafes is quite decent, with plant based milk for coffee and for a reasonable price. Especially, those places that are located inside the building. A quick bag check — and ta da, enjoy food discount(try second floor, it’s less crowded). It’s better to come in the morning to take the best place! Also be aware of sockets — some of them doesn’t work even if you switch them on. Check them before choosing a place.

I attended the Harry Potter exhibition recently, and while the HP section was a little disappointing, the Library is excellent. The other exhibits were really interesting, in particular the Sound exhibit and books of historical significance were enthralling. The information points are clear and concise, and interactive computers allow you to dig deeper into the detail. Although as a member of the public, you are limited to what you can look at and enjoy, there’s still a reasonable amount to see. Staff are friendly and helpful, and it has some pleasant although small food and drink facilities to keep you going. Entrance is quick even in busy periods and the hustle and bustle doesn’t spoil the experience. Highly recommend checking out the Gutenberg Bible!

This is an amazing place. As a lover of libraries, this is one of, if not the most, iconic I've ever been to. From the massive collection encased in glass to the display of incredibly rare and important texts, I was in awe like I seldom have been.

So many historical documents. It's a pretty special feeling to be standing inches away from an original copy of the Magna Carta.

Enjoyed the excellent Treasures of the British Library exhibition. The Unfinished Business Women's Rights exhibition was ok but a bit expensive.

For the most part, I enjoy my trips to the British Library. They have done a great job in creating a tourist spot, however I think more effort should go into pleasing regular attendees. The private membership area is quite loud sometimes and workspaces are always full. Hoping this will change soon.

Beautiful library with extraordinary facilities and 11 reading rooms (you need to register to use). I only give it 4 stars because they don’t let you take your coat, bag or even water bottle with you in the reading room, which is understandable, but very inconvenient. I hope they find better ways of managing it.

A staff asked me what books I read when I registered, then scoffed and said I should just go to a normal library for the books I want, as The Great British Library is only for rare books for serious people. Fast forward a year, and now they’re sending emails begging people to come back after lockdown. Lovely library, but staffed by some very snobbish people.

Had the worst experience there. I wanted to be a reader so I made an account, and on their site it said everything’s online at the moment(cuz of COVID) and I just had to book a study space if I wanted to visit. I went there, waited for half an hour to get in, and they didn’t let me in as I didn’t have a reader’s pass, and when I asked them how can I get a readers pass if everything’s online, they didn’t know the answer. Furthermore they said I can only book a reading room if I request books, which wasn’t mentioned anywhere online. Won’t be going back there anymore.

Few are the exhibitions or museums where your visit awakens in you intense emotions. Such is the National British Library in London, which was once an integral part of the British Museum, but today is an institution in itself. The National Library of Great Britain is considered the largest theoretical library in the world. It has an enormous and unimaginable number of archaic items of equal value and there are at least 150 million items that are usually there, and another 3 million items which are added every year. The British National Library is a magical and fascinating place not only for those who love history but also for the entire population that wants to experience the distant past in the present. The British Library's internal exhibition room, named "The Sir John Ritblat Treasures", is the most fascinating and exciting part of the entire library complex. This is a unique gallery in which the light is dim and dark, so that the light will not harm the ancient and expensive collection of items displayed there. Well, this is also one of the reasons why photography is forbidden in the entire hall of the treasures room.  In addition, the temperature of the hall ranges from 17 to 19 degrees Celsius, in order to preserve the ancient collection on display. The unique treasures room hosts more than 200 impressive and fascinating items. Among them, magnificent comic books - handicrafts of various religions;  Maps and landscape paintings; Books from ancient times - literature, history and science to musical works from the previous centuries and around the world. The tour between the various galleries in the treasures room is particularly exciting and at a certain stage gives you surreal inspiration as if you were wandering between different periods in history. It is difficult to describe in writing the unique feeling that arouses in you as you stand in front of the notebook of Leonardo da Vinci or in front of Mozart's first handwritten piece of classical music. Enter is totally free and it's worth every amount if were asked.
