Our daughter started at Burgess Hill Girls in year 7 and settled in so quickly due to their willingness to get to know her well and make the transition a positive experience. The school is a very special, nurturing and encouraging place where you are embraced for your individuality and skills and celebrated for them, alongside being encouraged to be part of a team and community. This sense of community has helped to make us feel very welcome in a new environment. We are positive that our daughter will be able to access and achieve her full potential here, academically and personally and we, as parents, also feel supported. We are very happy that we made the decision to make Burgess Hill Girls part of our journey.

Our daughter joined Burgess Hill Girls in year five and after 4 years has grown so much in confidence and academic ability. The school really does live up to its values and has developed our daughter into a free thinking, independent young person. The standard of learning is of the highest calibre with encouraging, supportive and knowledgeable teachers. The Extra Curricular program is extensive and well resourced. The school bus facility is well managed and adaptable and has gone above and beyond when needed. The leadership team always make themselves available at functions and events and also on a one to one basis, interacting well with children and parents alike. We look forward to seeing our daughter grow and progress through her GCSE’s and into the Sixth Form at this exceptional school.

We could not recommend this school highly enough. The staff are genuinely committed to the success of every girl irrespective of background and ability. The school will make your daughter feel valued and endeavour to help her be the best she can be whatever her abilities or interests. There is strong sense of community throughout the whole school, the feeling that your child is truly known by the staff, genuinely cared for and included. The school is an incredibly positive and supportive environment, where the girls are encouraged to be brave, to take risks, to challenge themselves and not be afraid of failing. The learning experience is very immersive, engaging and ambitious and the range of opportunities extensive. Our daughter is in Year 4 and has been at the school since she attended the nursery at 2 ½ years old. Throughout this time, we have witnessed her being valued, championed, celebrated and encouraged. We have witnessed her grow in confidence and are very excited about the strong, confident, capable young woman we know will emerge under the care of this school. As parents, in terms of quality of education and personal well-being we feel our daughter is in the best possible hands at Burgess Hill Girls.

Since starting at Burgess Hill Girls we’ve seen our daughter emerge into a confident, happy and enthusiastic young girl who is not afraid of making mistakes and trying new things. I credit this wholly to the welcoming, positive, challenging, open and caring environment into which, Burgess Hill Girls School has welcomed her. As parents, we are so excited to see how she continues to grow in this supportive and creative school.

Choosing BHG was definitely one of the best decisions for our family. Academically, the school is very rounded. It has moved up in ranking in the past few years. Why I said it was one of the the best decisions is because my daughter is having a wonderful time, in particular at the boarding house. The faculty members and staffs are friendly and supportive, and has instilled a sense of belonging to my daughter shortly after she came on board. Strict but reasonable, patience and caring. When she is happy with her stay, she can focus and concentrate on her study. I therefore particularly thankful to the team of staffs in the boarding house - wonderful job! Thank you!

Fantastic and nurturing environment for growing girls. My daughter is enjoying an empowering educational experience, but within a tight knit and caring and supportive environment. A school where being kind is as important as academic excellence.

Both my daughters are very happy Burgess Hill Girls and are achieving highly. They feel valued as individuals, find their teachers inspiring, enjoy their lessons and have made many good friendships. The academic and pastoral provision at Burgess Hill Girls is excellent and I think any child would flourish here.

Where do I begin, Burgess Hill Girls a really special place, there is something about it when you first visit, its so welcoming, you instantly love it, you know your daughter is going to have so much fun whilst learning. What we feel is truly amazing, they get to know your daughter fully as an individual and completely embrace them. Our daughters started in Reception, now in Years 4 & 6 and we can't wait to see them grown in the coming years. Burgess Hill Girls is one of the best decisions we have made for our girls and it could be yours too.

My daughter has attended Burgess Hill Girls since Year 2 and has now started Senior School in Year 7. She is very happy here, there are so many great opportunities, in particular she loves the music activities which enjoys an excellent reputation. A wonderful school with caring nurturing staff, thank you.

We moved our daughter here at the start of Year 9. Before making the move, we met with the Headteacher who really impressed us, she completely understood our daughter. Our daughter's experience has been very positive, her confidence and performance have really improved and most important of all, she is happy.

Our daughter has attended the Reception class since September 2020 (previously at the BHG nursery). Throughout her time there, she has accelerated academically beyond our wildest expectations and is growing into a confident, independent young person with a great sense of humour and always a ready smile. The staff are lovely and extremely professional; we are kept informed at all stages of her development and Parent/Teacher interaction is really well developed. One of the best indications of her contentment of the school I could give is that every morning she rushes to get herself dressed, out of the door and sprints through the school gates, and long may it continue.

Two of my daughters joined Burgess Hill for Girls Junior School into year 4 and year 1. They were welcomed by their new classes and made friends quickly. The staff are all amazing, without exception. Any question is answered with a friendly and helpful response. The atmosphere is always warm, friendly and exciting. Watching the staff during celebration assemblies on a Friday (pre COVID), it was clear that they were all delighted and proud to be part of the school community and everyone is giving 100% to make this school an extremely special learning environment for each and every girl. The positive vibe from the staff passes to the girls and every day my girls come home buzzing with tales of their day. They are happier than I have ever known them and I am so thrilled that we have given them the opportunity to be part of this extremely special school. My youngest is waiting to join the nursery and I couldn’t be more excited for her to start her journey too!

My daughter started at Burgess Hill Girls in September coming from a different primary school. Straight away she was made to feel welcome and secure in her new school. She made friends immediately and already is part of a very nice group made up from both new girls and existing BHG and it’s only November. The opinion I formed of Burgess Hill Girls during the secondary school vetting process has proved true; that BHG is the best school in East and West Sussex to prepare girls for any future they should choose. Already my daughter has seamlessly transitioned in to secondary school life, in a year where schools have been tested to their limits with the pressures of Covid-19. The steps that the Headteacher, Staff and Governors have implicated have meant that school life has not missed a beat. My daughter has already been involved in new experiences and looks forward to going to school everyday, even after having a great half-term holiday. BHG encourages and builds confidence and assuredness, as well as being academically excellent; this has been made clear to me already. Results and University places have again been very high this year, something that is very important to me as a parent who has every confidence in BHG enabling the same for my daughter when the time comes. In the meantime I want her to have fun at school and she is surely doing that. If you and your daughter decide to choose Burgess Hill Girls, you will soon wonder why you ever questioned it. I thoroughly recommend this school.

Our 3 year old has been going to Burgess Hill Nursery for a year now. She absolutely loves it. It looks like the nursery is in a park, not overlooked from the streets so no worry that someone will watch your child. There is a lot of room to play outdoor, all surrounded by lovely gardens. Beautifully decorated classrooms too. Our baby also loves the food provided by school as most of the time we read that all lunch/snack was eaten and +1 +1 ;) I would highly recommend Burgess Hill Nursery and if we had more kids we would definitely send them there.

I can’t recommend them enough! From the minute we walked in the door on one of the open days, everyone made us feel so welcome and right at home. My son loves being here and comes home with so many stories to tell. They do a varied range of topics and activities, tailored with the kids interests in mind so they stay interested. I absolutely love the fact they spend time outside come rain or shine. The staff are utterly fantastic, every single one of them. They’re all so caring that it’s a lovely supportive, nurturing environment. The facilities are great and there is always a lovely happy atmosphere. I’m so glad we chose Burgess Hill Girls.

My Daughter started a year ago and has never looked back. She and I agree this was the best school for her. It is phenomenal how they are genuinely creating the women of the future and after attending the end of year awards I was so impressed with the variety of successes and achievements on display.

Our daughter joined the school in year 7 from a local primary school and has just completed her first year. Despite not knowing anyone when she joined the school, she very quickly made friends with a lovely group of girls, some of whom were also new joiners and all of whom remain firm friends today. As a keen mathematician she has had the opportunity to take part in a national competition but has also discovered a passion for drama and really enjoyed being part of the superb school production - James and the Giant Peach. Our daughter absolutely loves going to this school and we are delighted with the opportunities she has been given so far.

An outstanding nursery! Our daughter has had an amazing time, loved attending. She has felt safe and happy and very well supported and looked after. Staff are unbelievably cool, really helpful and committed to their work. Lots of fun things organised throughout the year. We would recommend without hesitation and our younger daughter already has a place reserved. Just fab!

Our three year old son has been attending Burgess Hill Nursery for four months. He was quite anxious about starting at BH Nursery, but he very quickly learnt to trust the staff. He loves going to nursery now. He enjoys all the opportunities to play outside and go for walks. He's also made huge progress with his recognition of letters. The Christmas Nursery Performance was a real highlight. Thank you for all you do.

What a wonderful school. Our children are thriving here and they cannot wait to get to school in the mornings. They are presented with so many opportunities to discover their true passions and are then encouraged and supported to pursue them. They are being taught that there is nothing they can't achieve in life and we love that attitude.

Look no further for the best education there is for your daughter. Why search elsewhere when you have now found such an exemplary school offering academia, music, sport, drama, and culture all within a superb and supportive environment. The teaching is excellent too! Our daughter thrived here and has blossomed into the most amazing young woman.

Burgess Hill Girls is an excellent choice for A Level study. The range of subjects and facilities is brilliant. The students are supported academically and encouraged in many areas of personal development in order to prepare them for life at University and in the workplace. If you wish to pursue further study, you are offered fantastic advice through each stage from your personal statement through to UCAS application.

My daughter attended a local primary school in Hove before joining Burgess Hill Girls School at year 7, in September 2019. She hasn’t looked back; is very settled and importantly very happy. She excitedly takes the school bus in each day, has made some lovely friendships, is thoroughly enjoying school life and super proud to be representing BHG in so many sport activities. She is undoubtedly flourishing in this exceptional school where very effort is made to nurture, encourage and guide the girls to be the best they can be. Needless to say, we would recommend Burgess Hill Girls schools as being first class.

My two nieces go here and its really lovely to see how they have grown in confidence over the last year. I know both have received quality support for Dyslexia which have improved their academic learning. I am also amazed and at times envious at the quality and frequency of the extra curricula activities which has broadened their life experience. It has been an empowering experience for both girls.

We joined Burgess Hill Girls 3 years ago and have two girls in the junior school. We all love the school and are behind their ethos of bringing up well rounded confident young ladies! The teachers and school as a whole are really supportive and allow our daughters to flourish in all areas but especially in the subjects they enjoy and excel at, where they are encouraged and nurtured. The most important thing is that are girls are happy and love going to school. We appreciate the opportunities Burgess Hill Girls are giving to our daughters and look forward to seeing the women they will become.

This is an outstanding Nursery... My daughter has started at Burgess Hill Nursery and her transition has been exceptional. From the moment we viewed the nursery, to her very first morning we left her, the teaching staff, reception team and Nursery Manager have been amazing. We were prepared for a lot of tears, because our daughter has never been left before, but we needn’t have worried. The team really have taken the time to get to know our daughter and bond with her. Our daughter can’t wait to get to “school” on her nursery days and she has so much to tell me when we collect her. The facilities, activities and outings are outstanding. I couldn’t recommend this nursery more.

Burgess Hill Girls provides an education and environment which is exceptional without ever being pretentious. Burgess Hill nurtured both of our daughter’s confidence and curiosity whilst enabling their personality and individuality to flourish. The incredible staff are dedicated to delivering not just any individual academic support required but are equally passionate about meeting the girls pastoral needs or concerns. Most schools can help deliver academic success, at Burgess Hill that is just the start of empowering all their girls to discover their purpose, nurture their passion, and fulfill their potential. It is a very special place and they will both treasure their time there and its impact on their lives more and more as they explore the world ready to face both its opportunities and challenges because of their time at Burgess Hill Girls.

Burgess Hill Girls has been an excellent school for both my girls. (who are academically very different). It is outstanding for academic achievement, but still manages to balance this with proper pastoral care and personal attention to the individual needs of each child. Drama here is exceptional too. My girls have felt valued and supported all the way through. I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful place.

If you're considering private education for your daughter/s then you simply must check out Burgess Hill Girls. This school is a gem. It has its feet firmly on the ground and reaches skyward to provide a first class education. Our two daughters joined in September '17 and love it. Both are thriving on the vast array of subjects and activities, have made wonderful friends and enthuse about their dedicated and inspiring teachers. They feel supported in their teaching groups and take great pride in their school community, where all students are nurtured and celebrated. As parents, we are delighted our girls' school journey is being spent in such an enriching, happy and purposeful environment. We feel confident that they are not only aspiring to their academic potential but also embracing the values, positive attitude and life skills to equip them for their future.

I went there from nursery and it used to be nice but with the new head teachers it went downhill. I developed anxiety because a teacher I had for 2 years would yell at us in front of the class or worse, in the hallway where other classes could hear it. I told the head and she did nothing about it. I moved to another local school and am having to catch up subjects that weren't even taught at BH though they are at other private schools. I'm so happy I moved, my new school has the facilities, great teachers and support so I'm really learning and enjoying school again.

We persuaded my 10 year old daughter to "take a look" at Bugess Hill Girls on an open day last year with the view to join in Year 7 for the Senior School. She did so reluctantly as all her friends were going to the local state secondary school and that was where she was going, apparently! Within an hour of looking round, talking to the teachers and taking part in some of the open day activities, she openly asked the deputy head when she could start and the rest is history! She joined in Year 6, a year ahead of our schedule, and has excelled all our expectations with her learning, friendships, confidence and her enthusiasm for the whole school ethic. Now in Year 7, she is extremely settled, motivated and getting involved in things that a year ago she simply did not have the confidence to do. I cannot rate the educational and pastoral care at Burgess Hill Girls enough, and will be happy to watch our daughter grow and flourish in such a nurturing academic environment.

Our daughter joined BHG after Easter 2019 into Yr7. We had initially opted for the grammar school system but elected to move her to BHG. Mrs Laybourn and her team were fantastic in welcoming Grace, integrating her into the school socially, academically and through the extensive extra curricular program. We have been very impressed with the school's academic results, sporting opportunities and performances. West Side Story and James and the Giant Peach were simply amazing. The sense of empowerment, community and opportunity are clear. We were particularly attracted by the staff approach, strong leadership, facilities and the healthy balance of academic excellence and developing the girls into rounded young women. Grace has not looked back and we commend the school for this.

BHG is a fantastic school where each girl is treated as an individual and encouraged to pursue her passions and perform at her best whether that be academically, in sport, art or in drama. The girls are given fantastic opportunities throughout their time and get to enjoy a huge range of experiences that, together with the strong academic support, will equip them for their future.

Our girls have been attending this school since nursery. Having been very sceptical of sending them to an all girls schools, I can honestly say it’s the best decision we made. The nursery was a perfect way to set them up for school with plenty of play but structured learning and snack times. The junior school nurtured them from the beginning with each stage giving them new found confidence in themselves whether that be through learning, independent activities, sport or music or just standing up in assembly to tell the rest of the school what they did on holiday or how they were awarded a medal in one of their hobbies. As they get to the top end of junior school the girls started to go over to senior school for lessons and activities making sure the transition through to their next big step was as smooth as possible. Senior school quite rightly means as parents you take a step back and the girls begin to take control of their own school life, but by then they are very ready for the challenge and the pressures of GCSE options choices and exams. I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t say there has been the odd issue through the years. Children are learning all the time and don’t always make the right decisions. However I can honestly say that the school have been brilliant at dealing with these situations. As parents you just need to be prepared to work with the school and give them time to resolve the matter, it doesn’t always happen overnight. I know my girls would not want to be anywhere else.

This is a truly superb school. The class numbers are small and the teaching is amazing. There are many fantastic opportunities including an extensive range of extra curriculum activities before, during and after school. Most importantly the children are happy and confident. It is a very special place.

A fantastic school encouraging pupils to be positive and to strive to reach their full potential. My granddaughters have been at BHG since the nursery and are now in the senior school. I have seen them both grow in confidence and are becoming beautiful well adjusted young ladies. Sport, Drama and Music are taken seriously as well as the academic subjects. A perfect combination. Two and a half years ago, we moved our daughter to Burgess Hill Girls from the state system. She had been diagnosed as dyslexic, was not receiving the help and support needed and had lost confidence in her own abilities. Her work was below average and she was struggling. When we first came to the school, we agreed to move her back into the previous year group to start half way through Year 9. What a difference in the first two weeks; we saw a new side to our daughter, who was being supported and coached including specific help for her dyslexia. We have just celebrated her GCSE results which surpassed both our and her expectations. The learning and revision strategies practiced by the school made a real difference together with the self belief instilled in our daughter. Add to this the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, an expedition to Nepal resulting in an Asdan award, and prizes for achievement and commitment, we believe the school has helped transform her into the 'can do' person she is now. She will now progress to sixth form where the small classes and focused support will help her to achieve strong A level results offering the widest choice of tertiary education.
