Joined Borough Dental Care after my dentist at my previous practice retired. I have visited Dr Farydon Mirzai several times whilst undergoing treatment, and have always received great care. The reception and nursing staff are always polite, and the clinical rooms are clean and modern.

I don’t know why people are complaining about the phones - my calls are always answered promptly, and the website has a very easy booking system too. The reception staff are so pleasant and helpful and if you’re the type to be scared of the dentist they would really help by how friendly and accommodating they are. I’ve been treated twice now by Dr Mehraban and he is excellent. He will listen to your exact concerns and explain your options simply and clearly whereas often dentists can be quite dismissive, that’s not the case with him at all. Couldn’t recommend enough.

I have always been scared of going to the dentist since I was a child. But Dr Shahab has changed that. He is a great dentist! My dental check up's are now fun and fear free! I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Fantastic staff and service. My whole family go here and we feel very lucky to have such a good practice close to us. The front desk staff are always polite and friendly (can’t be said of all the patients) and my dentist is excellent too.

This is the best dental practice I have ever been to. The receptionists, the hygienist and the dentists are all first class. Highly recommend.

Great service, unlike most NHS dental practices. The receptionists were lovely, I spoke to three different ladies at the front desk and all three were extremely helpful. Debbie was very welcoming and assisted me with my forms. The dentist was also brilliant, efficient and she gave me some advice regarding the health of my teeth.

I had a great experience at the practice. My hygienist (Kemi) was very friendly. She communicated everything she was doing which made me feel at ease. She was very attentive and thorough. My teeth were ver stained but now I can't stop looking at them :). I will definitely be going back to see her.

They cancelled an appointment just 1 hour before the appointment itself and they did it without any kind of explanation. They sent me a message like "your appointment is cancelled. sorry". That was a big surprise, mostly for the short notice. The reviews were quite good some years ago, but something must have changed lately.

Good Experience in person, but the staff don't seem to pick up their phone at all. when i went there they told me it was as they had a new system, the phones seemed to ring fine but nobody picked up on my numerous attempts to call on multiple days, no excuse to be given honestly.

Really rude as soon as I introduced myself as an NHS patient. Felt like they couldn’t wait to get rid of me.

Really quite disappointing. Care has always been fine when we've been there but recently I have tried over and over to reschedule an appointment but nobody every picks up. Same again this morning. No answer machine either, and the email address I managed to find likewise is not responded to. My appointment will come and go and we won't be there to attend. I fail to see what more there is that I can reasonably do.

Very unprofessional practise - with most the staff speaking little to no english & very ill-mannered dentists especially the dentist known as Farydon Mirzai. Most of them studied & practised in foreign countries and struggle to carry out dental procedures to a higher standard. (My sister's tooth-filling was very rushed and i had to take her to a private dentist elsewhere!!)

The surgery has been going down the pan for the last few years. Been a patient here for a good part of a decade. Waiting times even with appointments are at least 15-20mins. I’m currently waiting for an emergency visit. I was told my dentist would see me after the patient in there and to expect a maximum wait of 30mins. Over 1.5 hours later and three people seen before me I’m still waiting. The waiting room is also packed and chaotic. The dentists are ok hence the 3 stars but I’m tapping out because the supporting services are terrible. I’m using my time to search for an alternative dentist in my area. Edit. After waiting over two hours and seeing 3 more people go through. I left. never going back. Changed star rating

Dr Mehraban was brilliant. I am incredibly nervous of the dentist, especially when needles are involved and this is the first time in 26 years of living I didn’t cry or worse! His manner is great and he made me feel super calm. Im really happy with the filling he gave me and I would 100% recommend him. Thanks Dr Mehraban and Borough dental care ???????? ????

I was pleased to find a dentist of this quality when I moved into this area a few years ago. Dr Shah looks after me very well. Just one suggestion - a discrete website with full details would be helpful.

Appalling!!! I read some of the reviews about calls not being answered, and the reason given by the dentist was down to issues with the newly installation new phone system, which was over a week ago. Have things improved? absolutely not!!! I spent the whole day trying to contact the practice for an appointment because of toothache, and each time after ringing a few times, the line was disconnected. I even waited until after the surgery had closed after 5pm, so I could leave a message for someone to contact me about an appointment, only to find that the answering machine was full and I couldn't leave a message. Surely it's not too much to expect/assume that if you have installed a new system, you should either have some level of contingency if it fails or at least have the issues resolved under warrantee from the company that installed it - surely, I'm not asking too much!?!?!?

Absolutely terrible I lost my dentures and asked them to make a pair. They came back with three front teeth! Great for Halloween or if you want to look deformed. This surgery is absolutely terrible

Always over book which results in patients being kept waiting. My husband and I booked appointments next too each other at 2.00 and 2.15, my husband was seen at 2.30 (30 minutes late) then I wasn’t seen until 3.10 (50 minutes late). On the following occasion I booked my appointment at 1.00, on the advice of the receptionist as she said the first appointment in the afternoon shouldn’t be delayed. After waiting for 20 minutes of waiting the dentist saunters In at 1.15. I was absolutely furious as my work commitments dictate a tight schedule. I made my dissatisfaction pretty clear and left and have not returned. These are the worst examples but we have been kept waiting every single time. I have since changes dentist (where I am seen promptly at my appointment time) and I would recommend everyone to avoid this tardy practice.

Front tooth cap came out in dinner last night so phoned in rather a panic hoping for an appointment ASAP today to replace it. Phone was answered immediately on the first ring, friendly and helpful receptionist offered me a choice of 3 possible times today to fit with my work schedule and was so kind and accommodating. Last time I went was two years ago and I've never had anything but the best service and care and help from reception staff. Will add the fifth star once I have my shiny new front tooth capped again!.... Adding that 5th star, as went along to my afternoon appointment, was seen immediately, on time. Had a new dentist, Dr Shahab Mehraban, who was just outstanding, even better than previous dentist I had here. He greeted me warmly and kindly, was patient and listened to my 'history', reassured me and didn't make me feel I was being told off for anything as previous dentists have! And best of all, a really quick but careful fix after talking through all the options and not trying to upsell in anyway. I really couldn't be more happy. As you can probably tell!

Dental treatment is fantastic however actually being able to reach the receptionist to make an appointment is very difficult! Please introduce a better call system Borough Dental, time strapped patients don't have time to call a phone which doesn't get answered.

Do they ever pick up the phone??! The dentist are fine but the reception needs to be better managed. They also have a tendency to try and upsell to you a lot which isn't what you want from a health provider.

Being told my husband had 2 missing appointments and I don’t know how come if I am the one who calls them and ask it to be cancel when my husband can’t make it 24 hrs before. The receptionist keeps talking about that over and over again in an annoying way.

This was the shortest dental appointment I have ever had. No cleaning, no x-rays, no discussion. After a quick glance at my teeth (I am not exaggerating when I say that I was lying down for about half a minute), the NHS dentist at Borough Dental Practice told me I needed three fillings at £90 each and sent me on my merry way. No attempt was made at helping me understand why I needed this dental work or why it would be so expensive. On leaving the appointment, I honestly wasn't even sure which teeth he had been talking about! To their credit, the staff on reception were very kind and tried their best to alleviate my concerns (and explained that I could get them as metal fillings on the NHS, if I wanted) but I have since got a second opinion elsewhere, which was much more thorough. It turns out the x-rays showed I only needed 2 of the 3 filings and I am getting them both on NHS band 2, including a white one at the front. My advice: shop around until you don't feel like you're getting ripped off.

Average waiting time is 45 minutes per my experience, but they only wait for you for max of 5 minutes if you are late. Asked them to revise their txt msg reminder, they said it's in the computer system they can't change...

Useless- Dentists are good when they show up. Nurses/receptionists can be rude, don't act on requests, fingers often slip when making bookings and are not informative. I had to re-book an appointment 3 times with no warning given to me. (do not book for Tuesday) I have been waiting for a referral to get my wisdom teeth removed since October 2015 and its now January 2016. After many calls I dropped in for a visit to check on the status of the referral. I got a rubbish excuse of "its a christmas backlog" after making no effort to follow up on it. I called St Guys Hospital to check on up only to find out they had never received a referral. 4 months on and still in pain i will probably have to wait another 3 till the issue is fixed. Thanks Borough Dental service.

Atrocious. Customer service extremely bad. They cancel appointments on the day. You go to clean your teeth, instead they do a check up and charge you for it. Then have audacity to say you should have cleaned your teeth. Worst dental experience ever.
