Worst experience ever as a master student. Awful opening times for a place for the people. (Floors close at 5pm) Not enough sockets for laptops. Some Floors are only for certain people, you'll be kicked out if you stay even on these floors. Not enough seats. What is the purpose of this place?

Whilst the architecture and the interior of the library is beautiful and a very pleasant place to be, the opening and closing times are utter rubbish. I am a student and much prefer to study in the library as it has a nice, peaceful atmosphere with no distractions. However, the library opens too late (11am) and more annoyingly, closes way... way too early! (5pm!!!!!) The only place that is open until 9pm is the ground floor which isn't big enough and the cafe. But if you're not a student going to study, you'll really enjoy this place.

3.5/5 Great library which has the potential to be the best library. It's gorgeous to look at both inside and out, helpful staff, variety of books, and a good place for those who work on their laptops. HOWEVER, the library suffers from lack of staff and funding. The opening times are frankly poor. The ground floor opens at 9am, but the floors above and below it AKA the floors with ALL the main facilities and resources are closed and open from 11am. They then close at 5pm (exc Mon & Tues, where they close at 7pm), this makes it difficult for those who have jobs. If one could have access to all the facilities at an earlier time and close at a much later time (e.g. 7/8am - 10/11pm), or better yet make it 24 hrs, then it'd be one of the best libraries.

Great building, great to study in, handy access to the internet or the latest magazines and useful if you need to borrow a book. The council needs to put some me money ???? n as the opening hours are terrible, and the expensive cafe just won't cover it.

Ideal place to go and revise. Also have music practise rooms for hire

Incredible facility, with no expense spared. Shame the council had no follow through. Understaffed, and awful opening and closing times. Given full support, it could be the best of its kind in the country.

This library as far as the architecture is concerned is one of the best libraries I've ever seen. It was jaw dropping amazing place to be...we went to the kids section and the staff was very friendly. I wanted an audio book for my child, the PC's were all taken....we explored each and every floor, it was stunning and inviting...the lounge area where you can gang up with your friends and watch documentaries with your headsets on is pretty innovative...the Shakespear's Memorial is pretty remarkable a place to visit...the best of all is the view from the secret garden :-) The unique colour combination of lights, furniture, books and ambiance makes it a must visit place ! As far as the collection of books and timings of the library are concerned I'm afraid I not the right person to comment, which ideally is the most important purpose of a library.

Firstly, I want to be talking about the service which is on Point. However, the opening and closing times are ridiculous. This is an excellent library so shouldn't it be open till late times for poeple who are really trying to get an education. Hopefully government does do something about it.

A great place to study.

Rubbish opening times. A working person like myself, who also does a course on the side, cannot go to the library after work because it is closed.

Wonderful place, the building blends both old & new together in harmony to create a space that engulfs your mind. Fantastic resource and a wonderful addition to the city

Absolutely amazing architecture! The whole building is practically a monument. But being used as library isn't really working for students (like myself) or full time workers. Staff are unhelpful, there is a lack of seating, and the opening and closing times are ridiculous! Coming here to work/study is impossible. You would be better off going to a more local library. Even though there is a lack of variation in books at local libraries, they are very quiet and have enough seating for everyone there.

Amazing place at all levels, although not enough supported by the Council. Opening hours are too limited and prices at the cafe are ridiculously overprized. A public space that should be open 24 hs and include more food and cultural activities in order to reach its full potential.

Worth visiting even as a tourist. The roof gardens offer nice view and nice places to sit down for few minutes.

Brilliant library and amazing architecture! It is such a shame that the opening hours are so restricted though.
