The Sutton Branch of Leightons and its forebears have looked after my eyes, brilliantly for 30 years now - from Suzanne and Caroline on front desk to Sarah Oliver Gaz James and all the whole team, they are professional and give amazing service - would definitely recommend them, as you only get one set of eyes so you need to look after them - thanks also for being so diligent during the pandemic - putting the i in Leightons !

Visited Leightons in Sutton for the 1st time since lockdown, they were very well organised and I felt safe during the eye tests and fittings for glasses afterwards. The staff were very helpful and I would recommend them.

I'm not in a position to comment on Leighton's professional services. However, I'm over 60 and since retiring and having left my usual optician in the City to seek out a more convenient optician locally, I popped into Leighton's in Sutton. I live in Tooting but am in Sutton often, as I'm involved in a local charity. I was greeted by a very pleasant lady and explained my reasons for wanting a new pair of glasses. She invited me to look around and showed me some frames that I might like. When I asked about eye tests, I was asked when I had my last one, which was about a year ago. I was told that a free NHS eye test was only available every two years for the over 60s, but could be done annually after 70. She then went on to explain the benefits of their care plan which would cost £12 per month and included an £80 eye test and various discounts. I took this information home for consideration. On checking the NHS website this morning, the NHS clearly advise that someone over 60 can have as many eye tests as they need, although this is normally every two years. I feel that the advice I was given was misleading and should not be given to a potentially vulnerable group of people. It's a shame that instead of giving honest advice an attempt was made to sell me a £144 a year care plan. I'm not saying the plan is bad value, but this has left me with the feeling that Leighton's are more interested in my wallet than my eye care. My search for a good local optician continues.

For many years I visited my father's/family optician in another part of the country. After his demise I needed to find an optician more local to me.
I wanted a family optician rather than a chain and Leightons was suggested to me by a friend. I 'signed on' with Leightons just over 2 years ago and have been very impressed with their service and professionalism.

Fantastic experience from the moment I booked the appointment to the moment I left. Very clean and modern interior, all the staff I dealt with were lovely, no hard selling and completely honest results. They even noticed something at the back of my eye that has been there for years that my previous optician failed to notice. Highly recommended and I have now booked an appointment for my son too!!
