The small woman on the front desk wore no mask and did not have a good attitude. Plus she tried to charge me £35 rather than the agreed £25. However the eye specialist was excellent and thorough in her examination.

Awful customer service and rude staff! A few days before my appointment I called this store to reschedule my appointment to a different time 20 mins later on the same day. The person I spoke to said it was fine and said they had booked me in. On the day of the appointment I arrived on time and waited in the queue to be served. There was a customer in front of me that the assistant was chitchatting with for a very long time. I was seen after 15 minutes at 5.10pm. When she looked for my details on the system for my appointment she said that I had already missed my appointment. I told her that I called to reschedule a few days before. She then went and spoke to another staff member and came back. She apologised and said that it was a fault from their end that someone forgot to reschedule my appointment and that I'd have to come back another day, baring in my mind I had requested to leave my job early in order to make this appointment. I told her I wasn't willing to come back and that I wanted to be seen straight away as staff forgetting to book in appointments has nothing to do with me. She went back and spoke to someone. She then told me that the optometrist would be leaving in 20 mins so nobody was able to see me, despite the fact that there were 2 other people waiting to be served behind me. She then had the audacity to say that it's too late for my appointment as it's 15 mins past the rescheduled appointment so I would've been late anyway. I told her that's ridiculous as I was on time but had to wait in a queue because you were busy having a lovely chat with a customer for 15 mins! Unbelievable and shocking customer service! Not one manager was even willing to come and speak to me to rectify this situation which was extremely unprofessional. No offer of compensation or anything of the sort for wasting my time. I will be having my eye tests done at a different store from now on.

I had a really great experience at this store today. I had to get a lot done including an eye test and getting contacts for the first time. No matter who was helping me I felt really looked after. Great staff who are very polite and friendly!

I ran into the shop this morning after I realised one of the temples of my glasses was broken. Although I didn’t buy that pair of glasses from specsavers they fixed it free of charge and in few minutes. Unfortunately I didn’t get the name of the lady who helped me, but everyone in the shop was nice, polite and professional. Really high quality customer service. I will definitely go back in the future to buy new glasses and for my eye test.

You can barely understand what the staff is saying as the level of the English language is sub par. On top of that staff is rude and full of lies. She made statements contradicting their own policy which you can find on the website and in the email confirming my appointment. I got sent away for an appointment without her trying to make a new one, She claimed that because i was 5 minutes late, my appointment which was supposed to take an hour could not proceed as she had other clients waiting. How? I called the store to tell them that i was running a bit late and no one picked up the phone. She claimed they did not have a phone but when i called 10 minutes after i left, they did pick up the phone. She was just not willing to serve Black people as she moved yo help some white people halfway through our conversation. To all other Black people wanting to go to this branch, there are many other opticians in London where i’m sure you will be welcome. Specsavers is just not one of them. Don’t spent a cent in this brand! Keep your Black pounds away from this brand at all times.

I thought the service and sales process was both professional and charming. And the last time I had new glasses, from specsavers, was over 10 years ago. The price then for 2 for 1 pairs with my prescription etc was £459+. This time it was just over £300. How about that?

I've held off on a review as I thought I had met the end of my issues with this branch, but it has only been trouble since my first eye test. I came in for an eye test with the provision of buying contact lenses. The first guy I spoke to sent me off with one trial, and when I came back the lady I spoke to said his prescription was wrong and she wanted to try me on a different one. I came back in after this trial, the guy said the ones she gave me was wrong, and gave me another set. I went away with these and a blurry left eye, I came back and got another trial. The fourth trial was fine. I came back to talk options and sat down with a man who explained the options. I eventually went for the pay as you go and paid £45, stating I needed them by the weekend, and would need them sent elsewhere if this wouldn't be possible. He assured me it would be and took the order. This is the part that annoyed me, as I completed my payment and he literally walked off without saying a word, clearly busy but rude. I called after him asking if there's anything else I needed to do and he just went oh no thanks, without even looking at me. I knew something would go wrong as he was not concentrating and just left the transaction as soon as I paid. I now call up on the day I need to collect, and a kind customer service lady told me that it says I called up to cancel this order as I no longer needed them. This never happened, and the last contact I had was in store. I don't have a back up option here, as they knew, and now have to borrow an incorrect prescription from a friend just so I can see this weekend. The lady on the phone was very sorry and polite, and i've been very patient at every turn but this is really frustrating now.

Had to spend half an hour in store, trying almost every pair of glasses. But the staff didn't approach me at all. Was ready to spend my money there, had my prescription with me. But for some reason they decided to help other customers, that came in store after me. End up buying my glasses from Boots.

Specsavers is great for an eye test and contact lenses test, everything run smoothly. Cheap test, glasees and probably contact lenses but the experience I was having is awful! Had problem in the past regarding glasses and now having problem with contact lenses! It took them over a month to order my contacts, I was there 3x times to ask where’s my contacts. Of course they won’t tell you that they screwed up with the order! Went there to try them on - TRIAL for 20mins, where you have to put contacts in and out, each eye twice! Impossible, especially for somebody who never even touch a contact lens in their entire life and also is scared to even touch their own eyes, I tried very hard - I got so frustrated I could not do it, I asked if is possible to take them home to practice- as you are in ur own environment and more comfortable as nobody watching you!!! I could not as the person was not happy that I can do it in the store! I need to come back for another 20 mins- I refuse as how many times I will be coming back to try before they will be happy for me to take home and start wearing my contact lenses??!! I have no time for this - at home you do (in ur own time) not in time that you have set (20 mins) and been watch - very uncomfortable! And when I called to get my prescription as I wanted to go elsewhere or to get them online, they refuse, so now I need to go elsewhere to do the process again!!! Very disappointed. You lost a customer.

Appalling contacts service. I came to this store a year ago to get my first contacts. I had a prescription which dated from 2 years back and the person told me it wasn't necessary to do a new eye test. He assured me that I could have daylies which I was sure wouldn't work as my prescription is really strong, but he said he would make it work. Looking back on it, they probably have a deal on daylies and make more margin. I came back, saw a different person, not surprisingly I couldn't see a thing with my daylies. The new person, which I believe was the manager, didn't understand why the first person prescribed me daylies and change to monthlies. I came again, saw the first guy again, he criticised his boss prescription and changed the contacts again. Then I saw a THIRD different person, which wasn't happy with the new prescription and FINALLY said that I should maybe get an eye test as none of the measures that was put on the computer system seemed to make any sense. At that time I gave up and went somewhere else.

I ordered a pair of glasses a week ago. Today I was supposed to pick them up - to make sure they are ready, I called the Putney branch yesterday to confirm I could pick them up today and won’t be stood up. I was told over the phone that my glasses were ready by today and I could pick them up. As my appointment was at 12.20 today, I sat around all morning and did not make any plans for this Sunday. However, when I arrived at the branch this noon, I was told my glasses were not ready and I could pick them up next week potentially. I wasted my whole day and am forced to make time next week again to try and get my glasses. Definitely the last pair of glasses I bought in Specsavers. Cannot recommend buying glasses at Specsavers at all.

Probably won't go back to Specsavers. The optitians are great and the process of having our eyes tested was super - 5 stars. But the follow-up and wait for glasses was AWFUL. We had our appointment on 27th March and were promised 1 pair by the following Wednesday. When we arrived on that day the promised pair was not ready and the technitian was out to lunch. We came again the next day and were made to wait most of our lunch hour while the technition did the glasses while we waited. We were then promised a call when the other 3 pairs of glasses would be ready. Not such call came. I rang in to find that one additional pair was available, but we didn't get a call about that. It's now a month later and we are still waiting, have not had call backs when promised and have still not got the 3 pairs we are waiting for and none of the above has been comminicated to us - we've had to chase it all up ourselves. I have no doubt that the team at Putney Specsavers are over worked. They are all really friendly when we pop in, but unfortunatley have let us down.

Awful, unprofessional and careless. Blunders after blunders. I ordered two pair of glasses. The prescriptions were not working because the optician didn't check my near vision.So the glasses had to be sent back and I had my eyes retested. Every week I called them, they said the technician was on holiday and my glasses were not ready. Five weeks later and after four phone calls, they told me both pairs were ready for collection. When I turned up at the shop, I realised that one pair of frame was missing and the second pair still had the wrong prescriptions.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had as a customer, made worse by the fact other Specsavers stores I've used have been excellent. I was left without contact lenses for a month because they forgot to order them for me, when I asked after them they tried to lie and tell me they'd been ordered, when they did finally order them they had ordered the wrong prescription, when I took a lens test to confirm my prescription had not changed it had to be repeated two days later because the optician thought I had different lenses in to the ones I had. I had to deal with different people at every stage, each time repeating my situation because they didn't know what was going on. If you can avoid using this branch of Specsavers I would urge you too. A complete shambles.

No. No. No. No. No. DONT USE THESE GUYS!!!!!!!!!! They tested my eyes. I bought some glasses from another company. I couldn't see a thing as my eyes had been tested wrongly. Had to pay for a new eye test and glasses re glazed. I complained, they said ....GET LOST.
