For the small, cute, and fresh buns, Bun House is definitely the spot to go to for a little savoury (or sweet) treat The custard bun had a runny texture to it and was sweet, not so heavy on the sweetness which is just what I like. Do beware that it is quite messy to eat as the custard bursts out when you take the first bite. The lamb bun was packed with flavour and, as a savoury lover, I enjoyed the overall taste to it. It had a hint of spicy kick to it which made it even better! The prices for them I would consider somewhat fair for the quality of the buns as they are freshly made with the exceptional taste, but not so much for the size of them. With that being said, I would only consider this as an every now and then treat in my personal opinion Service was prompt considering that it was fairly busy and the staff were nice. The inside of the shop had that cultural feel to it which was what I liked. The buns are beautifully packaged as well if you get takeaway Overall, a great experience and would love to come back and try their other choices on the menu. If you want to immerse yourself into Chinese cuisine with some freshly baked and authentic goods; a spot of a few dim sum dishes, then this is the place to go

We tried the vegetable buns and custard buns! We bought a box of 4 buns for £10 which I thought was quite reasonable! The service was very prompt and the buns are well packaged when ordering to go. I would definitely recommend the vegetable bun, but the custard bun was quite messy to eat due the runny texture of the custard. Looking forward to visiting again to try some other things on the menu!

An absolute must try! Definitely worth the wait as it is always packed! We had a mix of chicken, lamb, beef buns and all tasted amazing! Beware the custard one is very liquid haha! I am definitely taking my friends there soon!

Good value! Prices are affordable and the buns are heavenly. If you're looking for authentic Chinese buns, this is the place to go. Savoury and tasty and well packaged if you're having a takeaway due to covid restrictions.

Buns and other street food delights!! Best buns. Best Hargau and shumai I’ve had in China Town in ages - each piece is generously filled and cooked to perfection. We queued for maybe 30 mins to pick up our take away but every second was worth it. I can’t wait until we can actually dine in here, we will be back for sure.

Long but fast queue. Westminster Council on hand to encourage 2mtr rule. Buns were hot, moist and full. We had a variety to take home. The mushroom, and beef were surprising favourites. Would go again

The buns are aesthetically pleasing with a smooth round top and a red stamp on top. The buns are packaged well as well. The filling is quite salty and for £2.80 each, I think it is quite pricey considering how small they are. I know there are many variations/adaptations of the Chinese baozi, but I was expecting a more traditional type made with raw filling steam-cooked and a dough kneaded to close on the top. This type of bun tastes almost like stir-fry cooked meat/vegetable then stuffed into dough and steamed. The rationale with steaming straight from raw filling is that the flavour and gravy from the filling seeps into the surrounding dough to give it a better flavour profile.

Great tasty buns a a good price. They give fast takeout even if there is a long queue.

Amazing buns, freshly steamed. Price is on a high end. The reason lost of 1 star was due to the pandemic situation there is only a tiny entrance used for entering & exiting. Not much control of how the queue is being handled. The custard bun is no ordinary custard filling, its salt egg yolk, coconut which blends very well together. TIP to eat the custard is take a bite from the top slurp the filling then eat the rest or it will get very messy

Great bun place. Mentally takes you to China (although I've never been to China) and different time period. It would be great if they had a steam room where you could eat those delicious buns. They get cold pretty quickly.

Pretty decent and pretty cheap steamed dumpling spot in China town. I got custard all over my face but it was worth it.

If you you’re looking for the best buns in central London then this is the place. There won’t be a day I’m passing through central London and won’t grab at least one of these buns. The flavours are incredible and they’re so busy they have no choice but to be fresh. Expect a queue but always worth the wait. The venue has nice vibes and chill atmosphere everybody is hanging out.

Tried the Har Gau with prawn and bamboo shoot. Very light and tasty. Good for a small bite. Will definitely be coming back but I wish that they’d confirm if their chicken/other meats are halal or not. The guy seemed confused so to be safe I just grabbed a fish option. If it is indeed halal, have the certificate exhibited or a sign out front as it will confirm and we won’t have to ask. Thank you!

Styled like a tea house. The buns are fresh tasty and not overly priced. Limited space inside with small tables. Overall a good place to get a snack.

Really tasty food. Buns are fluffy and a good price, the mains are a bit pricy for what you get but everything tastes nice.

The buns (chicken and pork) were very very good. However it didnt seem like the place could really cope with demand, there was a long wait and there were lots of delivery drivers waiting outside too.

Definitely not the last time ❤️ Do: Make Bun House part of your Chinatown experience. Don't: leave with less buns than you can carry ????

This place is an elite, cheap, unique London dining experience. This Bao bun shop really surprised me with how good it is. They don’t take cash but they take all of the credit cards. The place looks small and it can be congested at the entrance but there is plenty of seating in the next room or upstairs. If it is full they have excellent take away containers so grab it and head to one of the many parks or squares nearby.

Too expensive and just alright. Can get cheaper and better Buns from other Dimsum restaurants in Chinatown. Got pig and custard buns. The Bao should be more fluffy and and more flavorful. Won’t go back.

Great place to get takeaway in lockdown, great place to eat after lockdown! This is my go-to anytime I’m in town now. All the buns are excellent, I also love the har gow and curry fish balls. Even if the queue is long the service is quick.

Lockdown review, takeaway. Had pork belly+rice and beef soup. I must recommend this place, they were absolutely delicious. Found it pricey and small takeaway portions, but considering only few places open at the moment, i chose the best. Will return. And friendly place.

Fantastic custard bun, however the beef brisket rice is what I'd go back for. Be prepared for super long queues on weekends.

Went here with friends - my first time. It may look crowded downstairs, but there are plenty more seats available upstairs. The buns are beautiful - I highly recommend the salted custard bao, but be careful, it’s runny and can be messy if you don’t know what to expect! There are a lot of choices on the menu. I would advise ordering little and often rather than one big order as things may get cold if you have a lot in front of you! It’s also worth noting that some items on the menu may take 10-15 minutes to prepare, so this gives you choices in terms of first and seconds!

Not sure what happened to this place. We had a bunch of Baos (not the custard one) and all of them were way too sweet. It tasted like eating confectionery. I would not call myself a Bao expert, but having been to China numerous times, Baos taste differently. We also had some Har Gao and Shumai, those were epic. So my recommendation is to stay away from the Bao and dig into the HK classics

Flavours (except the winter special mulled wine) were good and good for quick eat. Probably because it was breezy restaurant, the buns came out little cold though. Curried fish balls were cooked well and may be my favourite.

Always makes fresh super tasty buns and they never miss the mark. I LOVE the pig bun, but the Chicken is also good. The custard bun is possibly the best sweet thing that’s ever passed my lips. Ask how to eat it though or you’ll be leaving a bit more yellow than you started. Definitely worth checking out.

Great little restaurant for a quick lunch or afternoon tea. We ordered pretty much every kind of bao including lamb, chicken, fish, veggies, custard and chocolate; custard and the meaty ones are more preferred as compare to the chocolate one. Apart from buns, the small plates we ordered were also quite delicious, would highly recommend the rice noodle (Liang Pi). The only prob is that the sitting area is little crowded. The previous store used to have wider space and downstairs, now only one floor. Will still re-visit. P.s the buns look so cute in the pictures don’t they?!

One of the probably most delicious treats in all of China Town. This fine establishment provides a range of steamed buns and other goodies such as beef brisket rice bowls. I would seriously recommend trying the fish bun, simoly darling. For those working in the area the upstairs dining is quite a good spot to get away from the hustle and bustle close by and enjoy your buns!

Amazing restaurant with lovely outdoor seating! The staff are very pleasant and food is top notch! Not to mention the price which is simply unbelievable considering the location and the food quality. They also serve imported drinks such as the soy milk from Hong Kong which I will recommend.

There’s only one veggie bun, but it’s full of mushrooms and onions and it’s amazing. If you don’t get your order in like 5-10 mins, bring your ticket to the front and ask. I sat for like 30 and they were like “oops we forgot,” and even though everyone else in my party had finished their food, the company didn’t give me anything to compensate for the fact that they lost my order. They didn’t really even apologize. I was put off by that, but the food was good.
