I have owned my Cooper S from new having bought from Sytner Mini. After 5 years of ownership, apart from one interim oil change and a change of brake pads, Sytner have taken care of the vehicle throughout. Overall, I have struggled to find flaw in the quality of after sales service or standards of workmenship they have provided. The consistency in performance has been quite remarkable. Having just gone through another service completed by them, it has come as no surprise the car remains utterly reliable and passes the obligatory annual Mot certification with ease. This is testament to leaving routine maintenance (or any other repair work) in the hands of Mini dealers does equate to low running cost and trouble free ownership.

I bought my car back in June from Sytner Nottingham. And when I done the deal and everything over the phone it was great at first. When I got there my car had to be cleaned ones again as it was not to a good standard having paid for it to be cleaned and polished. Then I find the rear parcel shelf was broken but it was meet with a an attitude of not caring. I got told its a nine year old car and what do I expect! I had to kindly remind them that a car being sold no matter if it is a brand new car or old one a customer should be treated the same. I had to pay for this to be done out of my own pocket as the Sytner warranty you might as well use as toilet paper as it does not cover a lot for the car. Also when doing the deal I agreed over the phone to a two year deal and they tried to con me into a three year deal as they did there calculations wrong on my trade in. But I was not going to have to pay for there problem so I had to force the issue I wanted the two year deal! I will have to say I do like my car very much and I enjoy it everyday. But I would have expected better service from the countries biggest BMW dealer brand! But I feel the way of the BMW dealer is all going down hill rude and unhelpful to paying customers. That is is why my dad a BMW customer of 25 years went to Mercedes as he felt the customer care was so much better. Its nothing at fault with BMW as a car its the people you have to deal with to buy one.

While the staff are friendly, I did find the purchase process very frustrating and ended up purchasing elsewhere. My view is that they were complacent and assumed we would buy from them. I was told they would give me the best deal as an existing ‘loyal’ customer, however I got a far better deal by shopping around. Other dealers offered me lots of options and were very proactive. I didn’t get this from Sytner and was told the reason being that they were “too busy” and asked me to visit them to find out more. They need to learn that people shop online nowadays. Don’t assume that location is enough to win a deal...

I was told when I booked my service that it was included in the tlc pack and wouldn't cost me anything. Upon arrival at the servicing department I was told that actually I needed to pay for the brake fluid change, a hefty £104! (this was later discounted to £80!!!). I needed to have picked up my car by 16.30 in order to collect my young daughter on time (this was discussed and noted when I signed the paperwork). To then have to wait until 17.10 for my car to be available due to only one mot engineer being available. This is absolutely unacceptable !!

Went to purchase car... after entering showroom all staff start to ignore and keep on chatting. So i asked can some one help? No one replied so i went to an asian lad.. who said i finish now cant help ... i was like r u serious? Any way went to another guy and ask him abt car i was interested with number plate ... after standing next to him for another 10 min.. i ask him can i sit? Or dnt u offer customer to sit? Really bad customer services , wont buy or go back to syner again. Just ordered mini with another dealer around the corner. Bunch of ignorant staff with no customer services.
