Induction could be so much better for staff as there is a lot you're not shown before you're working on your own. You also don't always know who your shodowing, I wasn't told, I had to just "tag" on to someone. Some good staff work here though, and service users are well looked after. Needs a lick of paint here and there.

My mum has been in Hadrian House for nearly three years and you cannot fault the staff. Everyone plays an important role not just the carers but all the domestic staff, the management, the clerk the activities lady each one plays their part. Often it is the carers that are praised as people forget the important roles the others play. This year has been hard for everyone but the staff have worked tirelessly to keep our loved ones safe, they have their own worries but they put these aside whilst looking after our loved ones. This is a lovely home with fantastic staff and they do everything to make sure the residents are cared for and kept entertained. Not an easy job to do but the staff at this home do a great job and I can't thank them enough.

Fabulous place, my relative was cared for incredibly well. All of the staff are a credit to the home, they all go over and above. Can’t recommend enough.

An amazing care home in the centre of thurmaston. Both 'NEW' manager and staff are fantastic. They daily go above and beyond what is asked of them. Treating the residents like family, they really enjoy their jobs its just a shame they dont get paid anywhere near what they are worth. I would have no problem in them caring for my elderly mother here who is currently on the waiting list for an en suite room. 11 out of 10 hadrian house. You are the best.

I am never saw so unprofessional manager. There are so many verbal and emotional abuses toward staff from manager. Also, staff told manager that residents have skin problems three months ago, but she did not do anything. Finally most of residents have scabies. I have big shock, that company owner do nothing to make this company better. I have working in this company more than one months and after Assessment what office made for me I had call ambulance. Now I am on sick leave. Great job!!! Looking for another job. Absolutely do not recommend to workers and residents family this care home. 18.01.2020. P.S. After two months when I wrote this review, the company fired me because of this review, they fired me for the TRUTH. ????️Clients do not come first. Employees come first. Hadrian House promotes independent living where possible but staff are always to hand to give 24hr care to those who need it. There are many activities Monday to Friday providing a stimulating and enjoyable time for the residents, extremely appreciated by my mum! Well done HH and the staff, long may this success continue.

I think it is important for people to know the truth about this company who charge a lot of money to care for vulnerable residents. The manager of this care home assured us my grandparent would be CARED for, kept safe, given comfort and provided with basic care needs! Ruth and the team assessed my grandparent before taking her in and they assured us she would be safe with them . My grandparent was placed into care as she is unable to care for herself, cannot walk, can only eat soft foods as she cannot swallow, cannot toilet herself, cannot move herself. She has dementia and is often upset and destressed due to being in an unknown environment. Despite all of this Ruth promised she would be looked after, respected and cared for. Instead of caring for her let me tell you what really happened. After a couple of weeks my grandparent contracted impetigo which ment she was in isolation for over 13 days. I can only describe this worse than solitary confinement in a prison at least in prison they are allowed 2 hours a day out of their cell, nope not here 24 hours a day 7 days a week in her bed not dressed, not cleaned, only checked on twice a day! If that! Upon arrival I could hear her shouting and crying for the nurse who was outside the room ignoring her! I went into the room, she was upset and frightened but more concerning in agony and incredibly dehydrated. I waited 30 minutes for someone to reposition her! She was in so much pain. She then downed 8 cups of juice. I asked the team to show me her notes and chart that should tell me how much she has drank , when she was last moved, and when she was last given medication. There was no such chart! My question was then, well how do you know when she was last repositioned or medicated! They looked blankly at me. Is it rocket science? No of course not just a basic requirement. I did not want to leave her, I asked the nurse if she had thrush in her mouth and I was told no she had porridge for breakfast! My grandparent has been here for 4 months and was not bathed or washed once! She has contracted a flesh eating skin infection that has left open wounds all over her body due to a lack of cleanliness. Her fungal infected fingernails had been painted over by staff to try and cover it up Instead of getting a GP out! She had by this point also got the worst thrush in her mouth paramedics had seen! They where disgusted with the state my grandparent was in, covered in bruises, thrush, and this dreadful skin condition. She was left with food dumped in frount of her, that was not soft or mashed despite the fact she could not feed herself. When she shouted for help she was again ignored. This has lead to malnutrition and severe dehydration. She was also offered biscuits in frount of me that could have choked her due to having a lack of swallow reflex and should only be given a soft diet! One time of visiting I observed my grandparent shouting for the nurse for 8 minutes. They walked into the room ignored her and walked out, when I went in she was upset and frightened she did not know where she was and none of them attempted to comfort, or conversate with her. Instead they plied her with sedative type drugs to try and shut her up. She was left dumped in a reclinable chair with the remote control in her hand. It's no wonder she feel out! She fell out of bed on a number of occations. On the day she was removed by paramedics the team had refused to call her an ambulance despite her being unresponsive they got her up and dumped her in a chair. A family member had to call an ambulance. As I say the paramedics and doctors at the hospital are disgusted the state she is in. A huge amount of belongings are also missing from her room at the care home and they seem to know nothing about it including her wedding ring! That she has worn for 52 years. I wish my grandparent was never in this awful place, she suffered massively, she was in pain, mistreated, neglected and emotionally humiliated. She did not deserve This! These people are supposed to be caring for our vulnerable elderly. This is not care!

Terrible terrible care given to my mum She went here on the promise of love and care and a peaceful end to what was left of her life What she got was treated like dirt ,,and had many sores and open wounds and bruising across her body . She was unable to move and totally dependant on the so called carers here Many of whom ignored her cries for help on a daily basis. She was dumped in a chair staring at a wall for hours on end. Nothing to hold or do . Would arrive to find her dirty ..cold ..and distressed often on a daily basis She had dementia and as it progressed it was clear they could not cope with it and it showed . Mum had 2 falls here one out of bed as no bed rails were provided the other out a chair as they gave her the remote to the chair and left her unsupervised in it . She contracted 3 chest infections here often only raised by us family and unnoticed by them ..on the 3rd Dec She was rushed to hospital in a state of in /out of consionnous even tho she was in And out of a level of consionnous she was still hoisted out of bed and dumped in the chair ..even the parameds were shocked at this, they also tried to get fluid down her despite her swallow had failed . Mum died on the 11th December 5 month after arriving here , of pneumonia again undetected by them .in fact the senior carer had told the parameds she had not deteriated!!! How this home is registered for dementia care is beyond me Please please avoid this place as you will regret it. And yes I do have photo evidence of everything.
