As little shops go this one packs a punch.....open all through lockdown with a special lady at the helm! Nicky has been there most days with a smile and individual attention for all! On the rare
occasions Nicky is not working the atmosphere just isn't the same! Well done coop for providing excellent service even on a Christmas morning when you realise the one thing you forgot to get! Keep up the good work!

Some groceries aren't fresh. Found cereal which is 7 months old which is supposed to be a fast moving item. Its a small store, not much to offer.

Over managed door policy where power crazy woman won’t let more than 8 people in the store - which is huge - at any one time
Literally the isles are empty and no one queuing
It’s utterly dreadful and I wish I had the energy to walk to Tesco

I recently bought 3 plants that were on offer - 3 for £5. When I got home I realised I had been charged the full price. I didn't need 3 but thought I would take advantage of the offer. I came to back to store with my baby a couple of weeks later and told the cashier. He said there was nothing they could do EVEN though I had my receipt. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager, a young foreign girl called Elaina came out full of attitude and was ever so rude to me ad told me that they cannot and will not check if this promotion was on and I had to go home and get the plants with my baby and come back to prove it. I was disgusted as a regular customer to be treated like this over £2.50.

The shop is very small and sometimes getting around is a problem as I am disabled and use a walker.
However I have given a high mark as (most, not all) of the staff are friendly and helpful and the manageress Nikki is extremely helpful and has gone the "extra mile" for me on a number of occasions

This is the worst supermarket in Brighton and Hove during Covid and otherwise.
Staff make no effort whatsoever to distance and are not required to wear gloves or a mask. This shop should not be able to remain open as it is not Covid secure whatsoever.
When the staff push into you to get past they do not even apologise despite possibly passing the virus on to you and your family or ateast increasing the chances.

(NOT COVID SECURE - SHELVES ALWAYS EMPTY UNTILL AFTERNOON)
. start work just before 9. Every singe time the shelves have nt been replenished and all the staffd seem to move at a glacial pace. self service machines seldom work and there are always professional beggars ouside. The employees are normally to busy gossiping to even aknowlage that there are customers in their stores. They are also only starting to stack the shelves at 8.30 am, so if you want to grab somehing before work the shelves are virtualy empty. Also didnt apreciate being ID'd for red Bull when im 29 ! I Have NEVER SEEN SUCH SLOW AND INCOMPITENT CUSTOMER SERVICE IN ALL MY LIFE !

the woman behind the toll has always been so rude with me for no reason. never says hello always waits to be addressed like some queen and always poor attitude. how on earth she has a job in customer service i will never know. fire the useless swine.

Good and bad. The shelves are often empty for days at time - staff say due to stocktaking system errors or delivery truck issues. The good is they have fresh vegetables and fruit and fresh baked cakes and breads in the morning. I understand it is a tough store to staff and manage. It has a wide range of customers from high class Hove to late night party drinkers. Managers don't seem to last long. They sometimes have feedback evenings where a few customers are invited to give feedback - so they are trying to improve and to be honest they have a wide range and a reasonable supply of veggie food. Get the coop loyalty card which gives you 5% back on everything you spend.

Awful.
The Asian woman (couldn't get her name) working on tills is terrible, rude and unprofessional.
I'll be boycotting until she's fired. At the age of 21+ being IDed for energy drinks is ridiculous, no other employee ID's me in this shop.
This woman then several times said I looked under 16 before she actually got a look at my ID, no apology.

The selection here is terrible. I feel like I’ve walked into a 1980s USSR supermarket half the time.
I’ve given it 2 stars cause the staff are friendly, one shelf stocker man should be knighted for how hard he works.
Also their “broken” food has some absolute bargains... but I won’t tell you where it is!!

I've been to this store several times in the past few weeks and on two occasions I have found a hair in my food! The first and most disturbing time, I was horrified to find a pubic hair in my hummus dip! I took the dip back to the store and told them what I had found and the lady there agreed it was disgusting and told me I could choose another dip off the shelf. As you can imagine I was completely put off the idea of getting another and haven't since touched the product. No more than 2 weeks later I bought a small sushi pack from the same store and when opening it found a long hair inside the sushi! On this occasion I didn't bother to take the product back to the store having already found out they will only offer me the same product again which I am once again put off buying for life. I am now entirely repulsed by the thought of going to this store or any other co-op stores and I will be telling others to stay clear of the stores. Both products I bought were part of the meal deal selection (the carrot and hummus dip and £2 sushi rolls) and I can only think that the proper hygiene precautions are not being enforced in the prepping area, wherever this may be. I can only hope by leaving this review that the problem is looked into and resolved ASAP. Two hairs in the same amount of weeks cannot be a complete coincidence and I cringe to think how many other people are buying products with hair and god knows what else in!

The staff here are really friendly and seem to really go out of their way to help the customers, I saw a lady stop watch she was doing to help an old lady with her heavy shopping. Some great deals on lots of yummy food as well :)

It doesn't have wide rang of goods but good for what it is, and the opening times are really good opening from 5am as it says in the website.

This is my local and despite the haters in the other comments this is a great shop with great staff and its service is better than any local I’ve ever been to. Hair in your food? Ok maybe but we are all human and make mistakes... a bit of hair won’t kill you and as a woman you’ve probably consumed a fair few anyways from all those bj’s. Did you know the FDA allows up to 3% of crushed bugs, feces and all other dirt in most foods, especially peanut butter. You can polish up food as much as you like but it’s never going to be 100% clean. That’s why you cook it and I hardly eat cold foods. Heat = burnt off bacteria. Nevertheless, great shop, has most stuff you need and if it don’t, there’s a Tesco’s 4 mins up the road so stop being lazy.

It has to be one of the worst retail shops ever. The staff are so rude and so unhelpful. There is a lack of stock replenishment and the staff are lazy. There will be a big que and the staff will be stacking shelves and joking around like no one is around.
