I love the location of this shop, and the service and selection are both outstanding. I walked out in a pair of cherry 1461’s, after attentive service with great information and no pressure to spend money.

My name is Jon and I live locally to this branch. I bob in frequently on 'fashion patrol'. After purchasing a new pair of shoes, I bought some products from Doc Martens for maintenance. The staff were so friendly and expert with their advice. What a FaBuLoUs place to have so closely situated to my Brick Lane home!! Go check it out!!

Had to take a pair of boots I bought as a present for my sister back here today for exchange. Wow - some of the best customer service I've ever experienced, efficient, no fuss, courteous, problem solved in five minutes. Special thanks to the guy who helped me, sorry didn't get the name - if the manager's reading this, it was the cool black guy with multiple piercings, stretched earlobes and a silver front tooth, he was brilliant. 10/10 all round, thanks guys.

First i must say that i do really love the product a great boot or shoe. My issue is with the advice / service i got. Tried a pair size 8 my size and the sales assistant told me that i should get a size smaller that his personal experience is that your size is to big and you should get one size smaller the shoe will stretch after some time and it will be fine, the stretching might take a bit of time but it will be good and work out. I got them and after a couple of months wearing them my heels still bleed and blister (couldn't return them because they were used out). The shoe is still cramped and i stopped using them. I walked with them as much as i can but when i walk a bit more my heels bleed almost lost count. So i bought the shoe it was my decision at the end of the day, i will not be wearing them so thats money in the bin, what i want to say is that. Everyone's feet are different and do not give advice on getting a smaller size , as a customer i will listen to you i did and it will not happen again. Great shoe rubbish advice/service

Nicest staff ever. I had purchased a pair of Made in Englands online four months ago, and by chance, when I was in London, that leather part on the inside, at the heel ripped. Went to the store and they replaced the pair for me =)

The staff is nice indeed, although... My pair of doc's started to disintegrate (bottom part of sole came off the upper, and sole cracked in the middle), after 2 months of urban office wear. I know! I guess they are struggling to make their shoes as good as they did with all the demand. When I went to return them, they did not have my size and offered to refund me. Only after I asked whether it is possible to order them, they confirmed that there is indeed such an option, which I found strange they did not suggest at first place. I paid for next day delivery, and had to wait 2.5 days to actually get my shoes (got 10% off as well but seemed somehow little after all the hassle). Not good guys, not good enough. Kind of makes you lose the entire belief in the concept of good, long lasting shoes and a bunch of nice guys who sell them...

I was a little disappointed with the selection although it was nice to see the vegan section. I ended up looking in Schuh. I do love a doc, always had them but the prices seem to have become so prohibitive. I also wear a pair of Fitflop boots I may just buy a second pair.

I found the staff rude when trying to discuss a possible exchange - I felt accused of doing something wrong when I was simply trying to see if there were any options open to me. Fine if there weren’t options, I just expected to be treated with respect and dignity. The shop also has a “too cool” atmosphere which can be intimidating...maybe on brand but I’ll avoid in future.

Such a great little shop, with so many fantastic shoes and boots. Also, staff who are really helpful and rose to the occasion of serving a wheelchair user without any awkwardness. No, they're not cheap, but the cost per wear more than makes up for it, and I consider my DMs a solid investment in my own comfort.

Terrible service. On the 16/12 the staff at the till refused to sell me a pair of shoes (I knew the exact style & size that I wanted) because the store was closing in 5 minutes. All customer advisors were standing awkwardly when I walked in. If you don’t want to sell products 5 minutes before closing, then lock the damn doors and don’t let customers in! Disgraceful

What I love about this place is you can walk around for hours without being served, so peaceful! And then when you do go ask a fashionably bored looking teenager for help, they stop serving you halfway through and serve someone else... Woa, I didn't see that curveball coming. And then saying, I'll get someone to help, but doesn't - it's like a crazy fun waiting game that you'll never win. What made the experience super amazing was the 3rd sales staff who just replied with a straight "no" when I asked if they had a different size. Since time is money, the guy saved me loads. Especially since I walked out with my £130 still in my pocked. Thanks Dr Marten's, you guys are just too good for words.

Having lived and worked in London all my life, it's very telling that all of a sudden there's a proliferation of Dr Martens corporate stores, which considering that 'the brand 'is supposedly nearly 60 years old, have all of a sudden in the last few years appeared all over the UK! Now owned by the way, by Permira hedge funds! !! It's seems that their game plan is to is to destroy all of their original independent retailers! What a lovely way to get ahead in business, but then again what do you expect from a corporate money machine! Let me cut to the chase, don't bother buying from this shop, just walk down brick lane onto Cheshire street and go to Blackmans shoes, far more authentic and roughly half the price. And a family run business to boot (excuse the pun ).Enough said, Adam Smith.

Having continually spent my hard earned cash at Dr. Martens stores throughout the country and across the world, today I am sad to say I was met with the most unapolegietic and brash Manager (Nathan) I have ever met. Last October I purchased a pair of Black 1460 Mono Smooth boots only to have them completely fall apart at the seams. This apparently isn’t anything Nathan should be concerned with and blamed me the costumer for the ‘hard wear’. (My previous pairs have lasted me years due to my continual care.) Not to be dissuaded and blamed for their condition I went staight to Carnaby rd Dr. martens to which I was met with the most apologetic and understanding manager who instantly offered to switch my old pair for a completely new one. A complete 180 to my customer experience only a half hour before. Shame on you Nathan!

At a quick glance, the exterior of the building can look quite intimidating to an amature Doc Martens goer. But once you step inside and take a quick look around the quality shoes and lovely garnments, that all washes away and you're taken to a place where you're treated like royals by staff that are waiting on your word from the get-go and you're literally spoilt for choice at the wide range and variety of shoes and clothing. 10/10, would recommend :)

OK I've worn DM's since I was 12, which was erm a few years ago :) It's great to see them back on top, there's lots of variety here, friendly staff and a selection of boots that are hard to pick from. Including the classic styles - available in the 'vintage' made in England editions or the 'For Life' version which they will repair for free. Lots of clothing / accessories too.
