One of the tastiest Italian restaurants I've been in for a long while. Food was delicious and filling. Staff members were welcoming and cheerful, especially given it was quite a busy period when my party and I visited. I should expect to be visiting this place again very soon...!

Food was really great and the portions were huge. You get that vibe of a family owned italian restaurant, which makes the food even tastier.
Prices are decent and the waiting time is really short. Highly recommend this place if you are around

Was in town for work and was looking for an authentic Italian pizza, well you can find it here.
The pizza dough was so tasty and fluffy, the sauce was perfect, the topping was a little less than expected but the flavors made up for it. The dessert I had was the homemade tiramisu, again filled with flavor and just the right amount of liquor and cacao, no remarks as everything was perfect.
The service which is the last point was also spot on, the guy who was at the door (I think the owner) was really friendly and also the other personal was very friendly, the guys behind the bar were real Italians as I could hear them speaking Italian together all the time, overall great experience and will definitely visit this place again!

We had a very enjoyable day in Brighton on Thursday having been to the theatre to see 'Dreamboats and Petticoats' at the Theatre Royal and then finished off with a magnificent cream tea in Al Duomo Restaurant.
The food was excellent, being well prepared and plenty of it, with finger sandwiches. scones with cream and jam and profiterole smothered in chocolate sauce. The service was quick and efficient and most of all friendly, so we will definitely be back when we are next in town.

Just got back from a beautiful wedding meal at Al Duomo, which they never fail to impress. The food was amazing! Staff were very lovely & attentive. Have also had 2 party’s in the function room here previously which was also a great venue and party food was fabulous! Would always recommend to everyone that I know!

Exceptional food and even better customer service. Came here with my husband and daughter and had an amazing meal. The staff was so lovely and attentive, especially the young Italian waitress who mainly served us, called Sarah (or possibly Zara), who was very friendly and polite and made us feel welcome at the restaurant. Almost felt like we were on holiday in Italy! The puddings looked fantastic, but unfortunately, we were all too stuffed to try, we'll have to come back for the tiramisu!

This beautiful restaurant will not disappoint you. Very attentive and friendly staff. Pizzas are freshly prepared and cooked in a fabulous wood fired oven, which gives the pizza a wonderful flavour!

We were a party of 41 from our Church, and we had a really great evening. The service was excellent, the good humour and courtesy of the staff really made it a memorable experience. And the food was as ordered, delicious and hot. We’ll be making this a regular event

Just finished dinner,despite lovely ambience and location, staff are entirely inattentive. Ordering drinks , food , paying all impossible. Had to go to the bar to order my drink and was told to sit back down. Below average pasta. Overpriced. Wouldn't return. One main course arrives 10 minutes after the others. Whilst food can be hit and miss anywhere on a bad day. The service here was astoundingly bad.

As we entered the restaurant two members of staff were arguing. We asked to be sat near the window which caused a waitress to argue with a waiter for allowing us to do so. The waitress then asked us in a sarcastic manner if we were alright. We had not spoken or had any communication with the waitress to warrant her attitude. Myself and my wife made an easy decision to leave the restaurant and not give them our hard earned money.

Wow!! Great food, great service. There were 42 in our group (half of them native Italians!) and everyone complemented on both.
I hope one day to visit Al Duomo again, under more relaxed circumstances although, the team were super helpful and took a lot of my stress and worry away on the night my group was there. From dinner upstairs in our own area and then downstairs for drinks and some social time in the bar/disco area later we were perfectly looked after.
What a great bunch! We truly enjoyed our time ????

Friendly, accommodating and great food. The staff were welcoming, attentive and helpful. The food was well-cooked (especially the steak) and very tasty. We didn't feel rushed, and the food came out promptly. It was a genuinely enjoyable experience, and we will be coming back again.

I use to like this restaurant, but I have just had the worst experience ever.
Food is still good, but what a horrible service. Staff very rude, giving you feeling you are spending too long time in and it's already time to leave the table for other people. The waiter have been dressed in sweaty black shirt and stinks as ice hockey player after the game.
After all this they still have a cheekiness to charge you a service fee with no asking if you want to give them any extra.
Will I go there again? Definitely not.

When there for a quick pizza before the cinema and been Italian I had the chance to listen what the waiters and pizza guys were saying about me and my girlfriends in Italian. I didn’t like at all their comments ,they were very sexist and disrespectful.
When I told my girlfriends they also were upset and one thing is for sure they lost 4 customers with those comments

We decides to get a bite the other night and we decided for this restaurant .
We wait by the door for a good 5 minutes but no staff was on sight .The restaurant was almost empty.The guys sitting by the door told us to go in if we wanted to get a table ,apparently they were also waiting for some staff .
We decided to go and don't waste any more time .I'm sure they were no interested in having more guest.
We left and went to the coppaclub nearby it was very nice,service and food.

We had our wedding reception and party at Al Duomo, and were delighted by how well the evening went. Alberto helped make sure we had everything well planned, guided us on food and drink choices (including accommodating a coeliac) and delivered a tasty, authentic Italian buffet with great service too.
It would be hard to imagine a better evening, and in a perfect spot right next door to the Royal Pavilion.

Have loved going to AlDuomo with friends/family last 3 years until recently. Last few experiences in January have been bad with slow service and waiters who ignore you. Last time I mentioned to the manager that the last few experiences haven’t been great he just walked off and no apology. Not professional at all. Such a shame as it’s always been a very welcoming/ family

This place used to be great that's why we came for a special occasion. I had dry chicken, burnt garlic bread and cardboard profiteroles. I may have been able to forgive that maybe the chef had an off day but what really topped the evening off were the staff arguing from the time we received our main to finishing our dessert. My partner speaks Italian and a member of staff was pulling another up on her service, for at least 30 minutes right near our table. That killed any atmosphere the restaurant might have had. I am furious there was a 10% service charge for the rude staff. Out of politeness I said goodbye to one of the waitresses who ignored me and did not thank us. I used to come here frequently for lunch and the odd evening meal but not after this experience. Really disappointed.

The waiters were very blunt and rude. The plates were dumped on our table without any finesse. A hot plate was handed to my son and not placed on the table and he nearly burnt his hands. It cost around £4 for 2 slices of garlic bread for a table of 4 (stingy!). The food was very average in taste. The waitresses did not ask how our food was and the impression was, they did not care as it was apparent from the terrible service. Considering there are many good restaurants in Brighton, I would give Alduomo a miss. This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to.

Appalling service and food, We went in there last week and I ordered the prawn cocktail as a starter and my friend had the minestrone soup.When they arrive the prawn cocktail ( And I use the term VERY loosely) was just a few prawns on a bed of mixed salad leaves with the sauce on top.The lemon was turning brown and the prawns were still frozen in parts. The soup was merely lukewarm and when we called over a waiter to explain this he pretended not to understand although he was speaking very good English to other staff previously.
The carbonara was a mixture of raw and overly cooked pasta and thin, tasteless sauce, the garlic bread with cheese had no cheese on it and the wine was warm.The manager who looks like he was Sleeping appears uninterested in the customers or how to train his staff properly. Awful place, avoid, avoid, avoid and go elsewhere.

Had lunch with a friend here on Saturday. The place looked cool but we waited for ages to be served and I needed to seek out staff to serve us in the end. The order was misunderstood and we then waited for an age for the food to be served while others were served their food. I had to seek out again to see where our food was. The food when it came was OK, nothing special. Overall a very bad experience... when we left, no-one noticed or even said goodbye !- terrible experience and one to avoid in the future.

The service here is absolutely awful! The staff were unprepared for us despite us booking a table in advance. The waitress was incredibly moody. She threw the menus about the table in a disorganised manner, and there were not enough for all of us. When serving us water, she just left the glasses at the end of the table and on the whole neglected us as customers. She didn't even come to check if we were ready to order our food and it was difficult for us to get her attention, even though the restaurant was not at all busy. I have never experienced such appalling service and I will never be visiting again. This place deserves 0 stars for their dreadful treatment of customers.

Valentine day .
This is the first time I have felt compelled to ever write a review because I was so shocked and upset with how we were treated.
Service was very very slow Absolutely no sense of service etiquette- (trying to clear our items from tables before the cheque came-where we had to ask twice for because we knew they wanted us out!). Charged us the compulsory service even though they knew we were upset with the service and how we were treated. The management have a lot to learn about how to treat their paying customers. And on that note the overprice dinner was not worth the price tag-food was very disappointing. There are better places to eat in Brighton. Perhaps this is a place more for visiting tourists then local residents? I would personally not return and would definitely not recommend to anyone.

I called in here for a quick lunch with a colleague.
As usual I ordered the Linguini seafood.
When it arrived there was a distinct unpleasant odour coming from the dish on closer inspection I identified that the mussels had gone off and was giving off a pungent odour.
I called the waiter over and explained what the issue was, I was asked if I would like to order anything else to which I promptly replied no.
My colleague also commented on the unpleasant odour.
I was expecting the manager to come to see me since I ‘ve been coming here for years but this never happened I refused to pay for my lunch due to the odour.
I was then told there was nothing wrong with my food
I paid for the rest and left never to return.
Very bad customer service.

I forgot my scarf there, I called the day after and they told me their gonna keep my scarf.
When I went back 2 weeks later (I told them that I’m gonna go back 2 weeks later)..my scarf is disappeared. It’s useless to know if it were a gift, expensive or not, it’s still my scarf and I don’t know where is it right now . ????

Fantastic food, great portion sizes. Lovely staff. The 70's/80's "disco" was great fun after our meal. Well worth a visit. Have lived in Brighton all my life and never knew they did themed evenings! Will be revisiting soon!

Friendly staff, great food. I had a seafood pasta dish which had a lovely delicate flavour. The Garlic Pizza Bread had a lot of butter but tasted fantastic. I was torn, I knew I shouldn't eat it but it tasted so good! There is a lot on the menu which makes it hard to decide what to have, my only criticism.

Great location, very nice restaurant and bar, BUT extremely slow and unorganized service and staff. Burger arrived about 25 min after ordering but they forgot fries which were brought when I nearly finished my burger.
Really shame as place is very nice but service lets it down big time

We came on Sunday bank holiday for dinner and the place was pack but they still manage to sit us outside .Food and service was very good despite how busy they were. We also had entertainment that night , some very rude family start fighting with the staff and we were very surprised how calm they reacted to that .
The manager stood between them and the other customers and calmly push them out . If it was me in that position I would have scream at them for sure.

We recently visited Al Duomo's for a private office party with the Abba Tribute act as entertainment......what a fantastic night!! Around 70 people singing and dancing along to the songs...Brilliant!! Alberto and his staff ensured the correct food arrived to the right people and the drinks kept on flowing - don't know how they managed it! Would definitely recommend going along to their tribute act nights if they are anything like we experienced....well done Alberto, your team and ABBA! :)

Disappointing experience. Manager barking orders at staff, cleared plates thrown around noisily behind us, lack of attention from staff - my pasta was dry and i could have done better in my own kitchen, but no one came to our table after the plates were delivered. I told the staff my food was no good - i got an awkward shrug. No offer of pudding, no bill brought to the table. For the first time, I challenged the service charge and had it deducted. I will not be returning.

Great for groups, couples and families... Different areas around this large restaurant... Service is good... Trio dessert is a winner!! None of the dishes were outstanding but nor were they bad... Alternative to Bella with a bit more authenticity.

First off the food was good.
The restaurant looks tired with paint coming off the walls and dirty patches on walls where people brush against them. Our table had chipped veneer around the edges and the seat wobvled. The gents toilets were not clean and the floor was dirty. Also the panels on the wall under the urinals looked really dirty. Needs a refit or decorating.
The staff were pushy with olives etc before we ordered our food and the same with side dishes but then we were asked four time while eating if we were enjoying our food and if we wanted anything else. I was also asked four times if I wanted another drink before fully finishing my beer which was served warm.
Only given one stars as the food was ok
