Awful, The fish was cold and mushy, the batter very greasy and over cooked (about 3 times), the chips had no potatoe in the middle. Mushy peas ok. Next day I'm sick, both ends :( and £12.65 for the honour.

Oh Dear! I've travelled the country and my preference of food is a hearty fish and chips. But my GOD (not COD) don't stop HERE.
AVOID at all costs. Frozen Chips from a Chip Shop, I nearly had a heart attack - what a Massive disappointment Frozen flipping chips... Oh, don't get me going about the COD, (most places now do frozen) but it was tasteless... and the batter was thick
Only good thing was that you could sit in and eat without worrying about those blasted seagulls diving and try to snatch any food out of your hands.
So to summarise keep walking on.
Shame these reviews didn't appear when I was looking for an inside seated area.

Kept waiting only to be served as old and cold cod. It wasnt under the heating lamps either!! Server had the nerve to say she had cooked the fish 10mins ago. Felt like going back and throwing the cod back in their faces. Chips were dry. Ordered large chips and amount given was identical to a regular. Rip off. Zero stars.

The most unpleasant restaurant where I ve ever eaten. Order a fish and ships, both where dry like they were ready from hours plus the fish was unseasoned at all. Fortunatelly, the mayo and tomato sauces were there.

AVOID AT ALL COST - WORSE PLACE EVER.
If I could give 0 stars I would
£4 for a bag of chips. I ordered and paid then realised they were frozen chips. I ask for money back straight away before they even cooked them as at the front of the shop it stated traditional fish & chips but they wouldn’t refund me. They served me a small portion of frozen chips that tasted like they had been cooked 3 times. I left them there.

Please do not have any food here, fish was old and cooked for far too long.
There is material wiped on the walls, the chefs tee shirt was filthy. I asked for my meal again as I could not eat it. It never came.
The lights in the toilets are dangerous.
Please avoid.

Expensive food with poor portions. The staff were nice but with no management, they didn't know what they were doing. They didn't ckme avross that they cared. It was a busy Saturday so there's no excuse not to have a manager on. I wouldn't go back. I wouldn't recommend it to others.

This was the worst fish & chips I have ever had the displeasure of eating in my entire life.
£23 lighter for cod & chips, sausage & chips, 2 cans of tango, curry sauce and mushy peas.
Clearly charged me the take away menu and soon found out the mushy peas should have come as a complete meal in the first place.
We decided to eat here because it looked clean and was close to our car park on the return. Fish, small, full of bones, mushy and tasteless. Chips!! Where are our TRADITIONAL chunky fresh cut chips! Frozen and cheap steak cut chips from any supermarket.
Do not waste your money on this 0 rated, so called traditional fish & chip restaurant.
Seafront!! Might as well be back alley.

Went here for a quick meal before a show at the Brighton centre. Quick service, lovely Sausage and Chips and very pleasant and friendly staff. The toilets were also very clean. Read all the negative reviews the next day and wondered if we went to the same place. Would happily go there again when in the area.

The tables are too close together. You can sit at one table and block on someone at the table behind you. They tried to fit as many seats in a tiny space as possible to maximize profits, resulting in an awful dining experience. Not to mention the low quality cheap frozen fish full of bones. Garbage.

I want to eat at this place today and I was not happy before I ordered my food I told them what I want I asked if I can eat inside they said yes but then the lady at the till told me you can only eat inside if you’re spending a certain amount I wanted 2 meals of 8 nuggets and 2 portion of chips, She tried to tell me that what I’m getting is not around £15 £20 So I cannot sit inside and I have to get a takeaway which I found so ridiculous,
It’s so weird that you have to spend more to sit inside first time I came across something like this, I did not even eat and I’m happy that I didn’t eat as I can see they have got so many bad reviews on Google avoid this place at all cost

This place is defiantly in my top 3. It's a must the cod tasted just like the sea the chips were slightly crunchy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. Just how I like them, the cod was massive and the portion of chips was by far a huge amount. Staff there are absolutely superb, they are listening, patient and obedient. It's defiantly a must!!

Disgusting service, tried to ask for refund and asked for manager woman refused, and I was called stupid and a liar, woman tried to grab the food from me and throw it away. Food was completely burnt and chips were old.

Disgusting watery Clearly from frozen "prime fillet of haddock" no flavour, avoid.. approx. £4 extra if you sit in, which isn't made clear as the big menu on the wall is just for takeaway. Even the mushy peas were bland.

Rude waiter from across the Channel. Overpriced even if it had been good. Ordered fish and chips, a bottle of water, and a Pepsi. Fish had the consistency of mush. Chips dried out. "Vinegar" on table had the flavor of ditch water. Three (small) bites and I was out of there, minus £15. Totally and unbelievably disgusting.

They have prices for eat in and take away but they don't inform the customers and the only menu that is visible is the cheaper take away one. This is a form of cheating that causes most of the customers to pay double of what they originally expected. This happened to us and three other groups of customers in only 15 min. We tried to discuss this, but we were offended as the employee used insulting language against us, completely refusing to call her manager or issue a fiscal receipt (which is illegal). This place is total scam that should be checked by the authorities.

Sign states traditional fish and chips. Since when have frozen chips been traditional. Luckily only had chips as a quick snack but tasteless and dry. Ended up as expensive seagull food. What a complete let down for a seafront chippy. Not recommended. Staff member NO customer service skills and agreed they used frozen chips

I try and avoid this place but I always stay local and it is the only one within walking distance from us , yes the staff are friendly but the food is way over priced the chips are frozen steak cut chips which I hate and not fresh and I get no real enjoyment from the food it is just barely edible food and local

How can a place with a 1 out of 5 Food Hygiene rating still be allowed to trade?
If you can think of a a more tempting prospect than handing over more than fifty quid for 3 adults and 2 children's sausage and chips, three teas and a coke in a place that looks like the photos (yes, that's a sanitary towel on the floor, at 12pm, when we must have been the first customers that day - toilets cleaned every second year?) then let me tempt you further:
The chips were frozen and supermarket-bought, not chip-shop style. The 'haddock' had the consistency of a good beef jerky and my personal favourite was the vinegar. Sorry, it wasn't vinegar, it was "non-brewed condiment with colouring."
I think that last part just about sums the place up, it's the perfect metaphor for the absolutely worst chippie in the south of England.
As it goes, the lady working there was lovely, absolutely excellent, and it's a real shame to have to write this - but I wouldn't let my own worst enemy go in here and the though of having eaten in somewhere with a 1 star Food Standards Agency rating makes me feel ill.
