The Botanical Gardens were very colorful. The Zoo was OK. Quite a few empty spaces without animals.
We had a nice stroll and enjoyed the outdoors.

The zoo has seen better days. When I went it was fairly deserted. Lots of attractions were closed or being renovated and all in all it was fairly underwhelming.

Overcrowded. Looks more like a theme park with some lost animals than a zoo. The people are almost as loud as the attractions. Poor animals probably have no sleep at all. There is also a swimming pool stuffed with kids, where they can relax after grabbing the butterflies from the butterfly garden and throwing balloons and plastic toys at the otters.

Somewhat unconventional zoo with a mix of amusement park and botanical gardens. Animals are in reasonable condition given the resources, price is very reasonable and not many visitors during weekday. This was the only place where I saw an orangutan drinking beer thrown in by visitors and some monkeys being small enough to freely escape their enclosure. Neat!

As a Botanical garden is this place very good, relaxing and peaceful. On the other hand. As a Zoo is ACCORDING TO MY OPINION absolutely unsatisfactory. Animals have very small cages, everything is build by concrete based constrution. Also animals don't have any shelters where can hide and have some privacy. One of the most shocking was an elephant enclosure with area about 2000 squere meters fenced with electrical wire. They have ELEPHANT SHOW which is just increasing animal suffering. If you have feelings for animals, this place will be very emotional.

We actually had a surprisingly good time at this Zoo. Some of the cages seemed a bit too small for the animals but where kept pretty clean regardless. The price was only 50 dong per adult admission. The white tigers where the best part. There was not a very large variety of snacks available once inside. So, I would recommend eating before hand or bringing your own food. The butterfly exhibit was closed while were where there, which was disappointing. Would recommend spending at least 3 hours to see the whole park.

If you would like to bring your family to go somewhere i recommend you to come here.
Zoo has many kind of animals and many toys for kids and very large for relaxing.
If you dont like to see animal inside cage, dont come here because it's too dirty.

Nice peaceful area in the heart of HCM. Lovely gardens with plenty of shade on offer. Very cheap entrance fee. Some of the animal enclosures looked a bit small especially the lions and tigers. All the animals looked in good condition though.

I felt terrible for the animals in captivity here- terrible conditions for these beautiful creatures. It's a poorly kept zoo. The animals are suffering. The grounds are poorly kept as well. Its 50 vnd per person, not so sure it's worth it to be honest... Free these animals!

The park is well worth a visit. Green, spacious and tidy. I've read other reviews saying it is terrible conditions for the animals. For me, it seemed like most of the animals had fair conditions, though the tigers and lions could've had better cages, with some grass, water and more space. Also, it seemed like there was a lack of water for many of the animals.
Anyway, no animals are made for living in a zoo.
Worth a visit.

The 3rd time visiting here, with my children, it's hot these day so you should come in the early morning, before 10am, then after 3'30 pm. Not so large so u can finish moving arround in 90 mins. Crowded.

Nice, regular zoo, meaning nothing amazing, but also to be fair quite decent. The animals seem to have a lot of space and being well treated. Good option for spending ~2h with kids in Ho Chi Minh and escape from the usual noise and traffic.

2.My experience :
It’s highly recommended for family, I took my wife and son to this zoo on Sunday, quite crowded.
3.Size and things to do:
The biggest zoo in Saigon, it was built by French long ago. But there are no many animal like you can imagine, but it’ pretty good place for kids to play and learn about animals
Other hand, the zoo has a swimming pool for kid, you can let you kids play here, but it is not quite clean. Hope that the zoo management team can improve it in the future

Really really sad zoo as the animals are in small enclosures, in poor shape and look like they are suffering from anxiety disorder. Botanical part is mediocre but there are some very large beautiful trees. The tree labyrinth was also disappointing and somewhat silly. We were hoping that the zoo and gardens were separate so we could avoid the pathetic zoo part but be warned it is all the same park. Definitely not worth the trip up here.

It is a combination of botanical garden and zoo. For the zoo, you can read the past reviews. Overall a very big place to stroll inside if you have spare time.

I am in love with this places, every morning if you are here, you will feel like waking up in the juggle not in the biggest city of Vietnam.
From bunch of trees, birdsong, very fresh air...to many old people doing morning exercise,...you will have a chance to see a very different Sài Gòn city with normal sense.
To whom love natural life, this is the best in Sài Gòn city to deep yourself with the natural..

The gardens are very well looked after and great to walk around but the animals are in very small inclosers and looked depressed just pacing around. Some of the inclosers are very over crowded and some have no fresh water for there animals.

The botanical gardens surrounding the animal enclosures, are beautifully kept with many large and ancient trees and a wide variety of plants.
Efforts have been made to make the animals easily visible which meant rather bare looking cages, and bored looking animals.
The white tigers were fantastically beautiful.
I believe the zoo specialises in showing and breeding endangered local species.

There’re several kind of wild animals to see such as tigers, lions, elephants, giraffe, crocodile, bears, monkeys, etc... the place is quite big, even it is pretty old, it’s good for walking around beside many trees, lakes. My children love this place.

Its an interesting experience. The zoo is dirty and unkept. There are alot of sewer rats running around, one jumped out of the gutter and ran into the brush. The animals have interesting behaviors, some of them try to escape and some even seem like they are begging for snacks. It could be alot better.

Pretty interesting botanical garden, kinda wished there was no zoo in there because I'm not a fan of caged animals but oh well. Also there is quite a lot of trash in the ponds which is kinda sad.
