There are two reasons for stopping by, girls and fresh baguettes, missing star is for not selling good French wine ????

If you like French bread the closest you will get outside of France. French speaking friendly staff. Tarts are amazing. Great lunch stop.

Its French, 100% in fact, great pastries, bread and the panini's are generously filled! Good price also. Service is typically French which adds to the whole experience, i personally like it. Unique queue line up and does get roasting in the summer, viva la francais !

Love this place!!! I was introduced to Chanteroy about 2 years ago when I moved to the area and needless to say this has not been great for the waist line or bank balance! The pear tart, strawberry tart, chocolate mousse and chocolate cake/brownie slice are my favourite, but having said that I have not yet been disappointed with anything from here. The baguettes are delicious, a generous size and reasonable to boot! Despite some reviews on here I have never been treated badly or experienced rude staff?? And I love that the staff are French, it adds to the authenticity of the place!

Delightful little (seriously, it's a squeeze) French patisserie just outside the Southfields tube station. The freshly-baked pastries and glazed tarts keep us coming back every Sunday morning. Seems to be a bit of a hidden gem in the area, though it does get busy in the early mornings when all the locals come to get their day started ????

As a Parisian and local - a very dirty & non-functional place is to buy some croissants and pains au chocolat. I’m very surprised people are still buying sandwiches, yoghurts, drinks and food in this filthy place. I know exactly what is happening underneath this shop. I would like to warning people that, please please don’t buy anything there if you don’t want to get ill.

Good value for cakes and pastries. Place could do with a deep clean and a general redecoration. Also gets incredibly tight so the layout could be rethought with the counter at the back rather than the side. I generally agree about the staff but you cannot really expect a spotty pubescent 16 year old to know much about customer service.

Best baguettes in SW London! Amazing taste and so cheap! Best time to go- week day as weekends there are usually long queue. Also do great pastries. Staff are very French and unfortunately can be rather moody!! Can't beat the authenticity and great value though.

Has a good reputation in the area. Nice food and reasonably priced. Three stars given as staff could return a smile to customers and not appear so miserable! It's not hard to smile!

Walking into Chanteroy I imagine is like walking into France. Not only are their sweet tarts and chocolate mousses beautiful, they taste gorgeous, and their baguettes are cheap but are very good quality and are delicious. The savoury tarts and many pastries are also fabulous! Love love LOVE this bakery! It's no question where we get breakfast every weekend!

Regularly buy their cakes and they are fab! Whether they are topped with peach and plums or pears/fruits they just taste fab and fresh! Not too buttery either which I was expecting to find in French patisserie. Baguettes are great too, filled up with lovely freshly cut salami and full of salad! I agree with one of the previous reviews, the place could do with some more cleaning. Dont think it necessarily needs a refurb, I like the look of it, if it was refurbished it'd probably lose that vibe. Regarding the staff, I really do not think you can judge the staff from a British Customer services standard perspective. The fact that they speak French just adds to the overall French boulangerie experience. Also it is clear that most of them are very young and have recently moved to the UK maybe on a temporary basis as the staff keeps changing, and may speak very little English hence they may just be uncomfortable when asked questions in English and not sure what to say.

Rude and insufferable staff. Already walked out twice and won't be going back. The food is good but comes with that typical french attitude. To the manager: You are in Southfields, not Paris. Please, train your staff accordingly. When another french place opens (and I hope that happens asap), you will be going down. No food is worth such unbearable arrogance.

An absolute institution. The baguette menu is the best lunch you can get in the area, all about £2 each. Get the pear tart for special occasions, you won’t regret it.

This basic and very humble looking bakery and sandwich shop can easily be missed, but it is by far one of the best places to buy fresh sandwiches in London. With delicious Camembert cheese, fresh baguettes and french mayonnaise you can't beat a Chanteroy sandwich - it's got to be experienced to be fully understood. No place to sit an eat though (take-away only). They also offers a diverse range of authentic French foods and drinks for you to buy or order for delivery right to your door. This place is a relatively unknown treasure within London!

Very disappointed, I have been going in the shop for a while now and I am so fed up with the service one person will put hardly any butter in the sandwich another will put loads one person will put 4 slices of cheese an other will put three and the miserable ones put two slices, come on Chanteroy sort this out be consistent and an other thing every day the baguette is a different size, I am not the only person to have this complaint but I am the only one to take the time to complain

Great food but their understanding is terrible! Surely it's not a huge stretch for French people living in England to speak average English?

The food is ok, but personnel is very rude! Although they obviously know how to speak English, but kept to speaking French. They even told the prices only in French. Later on one of the employees was talking about me to a coworker, also in French. She probably didn't expect me to understand... also, there were A LOT of employees for such a small store, I wonder why
