Booked overnight to be told on arrival this morning that they’d ‘run out of cars’ How difficult would it be to tell us that when booking? I mean, COME ON! Sort your booking system out, and while you’re at it, offer refunds there and then, not online! I would normally cool off before writing a review, but it’s the hottest day of the year and have no AC.

Had a nightmare with these guys... Bear with me... I had a car arranged (AA stay mobile) to replace my breakdown, walked 25 minutes from garage to pick up from branch, and when I arrived got the "run out of cars" situation that appears in a few reviews. I was told by the branch manager that I should have had a missed call - I didn't receive a single call from anyone from Enterprise at any point in this fiasco. I was left in the street for over 3 hours whilst I tried to organise a replacement, being told explicitly that "nothing could be done" by the manager. Cars were being washed regularly on the forecourt so not a great environment. After I had made many calls, and half a day wasted on the kerb, the previously mentioned branch manager came out and told me she had rearranged things and would "let me have" a car I had been standing next to all along! To top it off, on returning the car, I was charged for the experience! It clearly said on invoice that it was covered by breakdown agreement. Again, when phoning the office to correct the issue was given the same previous attitude by the same branch manager. Over a month later - I have a refund. Review main points - Attitude of manager - made me feel like it was my fault at every stage. AA recovery link not an excuse, I was still a customer even if not directly. Left in the street to sort it out myself. Bank holiday Monday is not an excuse for poor customer service on a Thursday. Can't believe it takes seconds to charge a card, but weeks to refund. Unlikely to use Enterprise out of choice in the future. I would advise anyone to use a competitor if given the choice.

I use Enterprise fairly regularly. I had a car for the weekend on Saturday 26th September which I returned on Monday. I later realised I had left a pair of boots in the car. I called and spoke to Tamsin who confirmed they had found the boots and would keep hold of them when I could come to collect at the weekend. I arrived shortly after 9 this morning to be told the boots were not there. I spoke to Tamsin who was there today and she said they had gone. I couldn’t believe it. I said they must have been taken by someone who worked there because according to Tamsin they were left in the office which customers do not have access to or in an outside container which again is not easily accessible by customers. I’m really shocked to be told this after confirming that my boots had been found. It shows that the staff there have no regard for their customers to help themselves to items which have been left innocently.

I've rented twice from this branch, and had no problems. The cars were in decent condition. Helpful, polite staff. The transaction is straightforward. It's not the cheapest agency, but more importantly I've never had any bad experiences of staff trying to claim money for non-existent damages, as you hear about from other places. So more transparent, and worth it.

If you get a car of this mob, Make sure you check it over in daylight, do not trust them to have checked it. if you miss anything, that they have not picked up you will get ripped off.they will try and find any excuse to charge you excess which is a scam! will never use again.

I booked online for two days. When I picked the car up I was told if I only used it for one day they would only charge for one day. (I hadn't even asked. There was no pressure to lie to my face. I believe this is bait and switch. To promise one thing to a customer and deliver another) I worked faster and later to return it after one day. They charged two days. I asked when paying with their terminal of they'd only charged the one day. You can't see the numbers. The receipt they email shows numbers for one day! (The receipt totals £58 one day! The amount taken from my bank is £78!) I only noticed later at the post office because I checked my bank app. I went back to the shop still before 9am. They told me it was booked online for two days. Ok I'll have the car for the entire second day. I've paid for it. No it's checked back in. Yes so let's check it out. They know I've paid for it. I offered to reschedule if it's not convenient. No it's going to refund (lying to my face) in a few days. Two weeks later no refund. Can't be trusted. If my booking the car means it's booked out so you won't be able to sell to someone else. Ok. So let me have it I've booked it. I've paid for it.

Is it all the rental car company is the same ? When you book the car what you request,they always give you not the same one from picture ,they use is similar to excuse their wrong arrangment ! This time I booking a 7seat MPV when I go to collect they arrange a 5 seat + 2 no leg space seat SUV for us ! We are 7 adult for the journey who want to sit a seat need to ban your leg ? So after an hour debate and also by luck they finally gave us one 9seat mini van for instead ! This time I am lucky for instead but how about next time ? So don't accept what they are supply to you if it not your booking and also arrange more time to collect your car that you have more time to solve out what problems they will happen ! Good luck !!

My car went in for a safety recall meaning I had no means of transport, these guys were contacted by my dealer and then we're straight in touch with me offering to pick me up and take me to their office to sort out a hire car. Two hours later I was driving away in a brand new car and when my car is ready I just drop it back to my dealer and they'll collect it from there. So far very impressed

I had to write a review for Enterprise Rent-a-Car Hove, because the service so just soooooo good! Nothing was too much trouble including picking me up from home at the start of the hire period and dropping me home when I returned the car. Not only that, but I hired the car with a view of claiming the cost back from the insurance company, but we little information they managed to arrange to bill the third parties insurance company direct. Top class service!

fuel scam they will tell you that the car has half a tank when you leave but when you return they will say oh no it had three quarters thus trying to pocket the difference also tried to fob me off with a 12 seater mini bus (auto )when a small car( manual) had been booked for over four weeks

Straight forward and easy to get to for the pickup and the return of the vehicle. Be aware that the default excess is £1000.00 so think hard about your journey and where you might have to leave your hired vehicle as you can pay extra to get that reduced

From booking through to return and at every point of contact the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The only suggested improvements are: 1. Saturday closes at 12 therefore I paid for 2 days and therefore had the car from 8.30am Friday until 12 Sat. Also closed Sunday 2. Choice of car - I upgraded on the day, however I would really have liked to actually chose the car type I was driving. I asked for a Fiat 500 however it was short notice and it wasn't available.

I had left my wallet in one car on Thursday. I called on Friday and I was quickly dismissed by the receptionist, who told me that cars are always checked before they are hired again. FALSE! I was contacted yesterday by a man who found my wallet in the very same car. He is now sending it to me. I am part of a company that hires cars and vans from you all the time...not very good customer services, if you ask. Thank you for nothing.

Hired vans on several occasions from this Enterprise branch and was very happy with the service I received. The staff were friendly and professional and the vehicles were well presented and apart from the odd electrical fault in good mechanical condition. Would definitely use them again.

Enterprise are using an ID address system to check if you are on the electoral role in order to hire a vehicle. We moved to our current property in January of this year and registered on the electoral role then. We have polling cards in our name for the upcoming election which we showed them. But because their system says that we are not on the electoral role and it has clearly not been updated the computer said no. There is no alternative or human check that they will do. Very poor service. And now we are unable to move house today. Thank you Enterprise.

As you have stated I booked the vehicle with Hove however when I arrived, there was no record of the booking with this branch in fact the vehicle was at Haywards Heath awaiting my collection. Had I not needed the vehicle urgently I would have insisted it was brought to Hove. Following my journey my daughter rang Hove and again went through the entire transaction and I was able to return the vehicle to Hove without any additional costs. I was informed however that my deposit could not be returned to me until the vehicle was returned to Haywards Heath. I hope this is soon and not delayed for any other reason. In view of the failures in this transaction I would appreciate an email confirming this has been done?

Booked a standard car that was meant to be a diesel. Got given a petrol insignia. Company fuel card only authorised diesel fuel so had to spent in excess of 100 quid to travel 300 miles. Also charged more for rental then stated on the reservation! This branch has gone downhill very badly. Staff insisted on the extra insurance excess protection and roadside protection costs. When I insisted it was MY choice, I was thrown the fob to the car and told to await an inspector to sign the car out. My advice, treat your customers better or I will be using choice Vehicle rentals from now on!!

I booked a car online on behalf of my friend who came from Estonia to visit me. When we came to pick up a car, they asked to provide Passport, Driving License, Flight Tickets (why???) and Credit card. There was no information about credit card on the website so we just wasted our time, as my friend doesn't have one. They didn't accept debit card, cash or my credit card. Also, no baby car seats or sat navs were available at the branch. Instead, we booked a car in Europcar without any problems (only with Driving License and Debit Card). Do not waste your time and avoid like a plague.
