I've used the team at Hertz three times now so happy to leave a review. The guys in there are very efficient - definitely the quickest car hire experience you are likely to encounter. Happy to report there is non of the cringe worthy boiler room style insurance sales going on either, although I purchase annual excess cover .
The cars are excellent. On the last two occasions I have been upgraded and driven away in a Mercedes or nearly new Volvo.
Overall a pleasant experience - not something you'd ordinarily associated with car hire.

Rude and aggressive. I returned a car yesterday to this place and not only did the man at the desk try to charge me extra for time that was not used by myself, he also decided to snatch papers from my hand and basically tell me to shut up when I asked why he was being so rude. Really unacceptable and they really should learn to be professional at work.

The staff are good and helpful. There are plenty of car options and they always seem to have space. The location of the branch is rubbish though. It is at the top of the hill at the race course. If they delivered and picked up cars that would be ace.
Edit: changing from 4 to 5 stars because once again perfect service on a third or fourth hire

Great staff and service, have rented from this branch multiple times.
I got an email from them saying i recieved a fine while renting a car and i need to pay it (fair enough) they then say they are going to charge a £42 administration charge. I don't think so mate, i will be clawing the money back from my credit card company, good luck with that.

I rented a car from an online portal and was sent a voucher to find out location of collection. Unfortunately due to pregnancy I wasn't well enough to pick it up at the agreed time and went a few hours later without calling them first. That's my mistake and fault but it was a Saturday and they shut at 13:00 (which I was unaware of) and there was no emergency number on the premises. I ended up renting somewhere else (without of course getting any refund as I was a no show) but I am surprised nobody bothered to give me a courtesy call before closing. So I'm not renting from them again even if it means paying more elsewhere.

Staff are great but it's one if the most expensive hire car places I have ever been to. Looks cheap, then they have all the add ons which are massive then they take a £200 deposit as well. I was over £400 for a 3 day rental! Shop about, you'll get a much better deal

SERIOUS RISK TO BUSINESS CUSTOMERS - The single worst performing car hire depot in the region. As a 10+ year business hirer i have experienced the best and worst this industry has to offer but this place are just lazy and complacent which makes it so much worse. Cars are constantly being sent out dirty, unchecked and in unfit for road condition. They charge excessive sums to customers accounts and hope you dont notice. The manager is a busy fool running around moaning about head office instead of getting problems sorted. The rates are cheaper from most other hire company's at Gatwick and the cars are always new and in good condition. Avoid these guys at all costs.

Amazing service, came in sunday 5 minutes to closing, the man did not rush us, was extremely helpful. Even told us to book online when we sat in the office with him, because it was £10 cheaper. Best of all I forgot my purse after the office closed and he gave a ring after hours and dropped it off. Will be renting from here more often!!!

Went here to watch circus zyair, atmosphere not bad but very muddy, however there's plenty of parking spaces available in the racecourse, if not just opposite/down the road, I probably wouldn't come here for any other events here unless they look really good as the setting did not really suit this particular event that was occurring

Be aware you can't return to this "location" but must return to the racecourse and they will give you a ride to the station. Nothing on my reservation informed me of this- it says to return here. Glad I went to scope out the return location in advance.

My preferred rental place in Brighton, I'll always go to hertz if the price is right. The staff are really friendly, always have me in a vehicle within 5 mins of getting to the branch. They don't go over the vehicle looking for any tiny dent or scratch they can charge you for.

Awful service! Twice I've had to use them and not out of choice! Never answer the phone, just rings and when you even email them, no response.
Had to try and go via HQ to get them to sort all my issues out and then they cocked up the delivery. My partner has also recently had to hire via them and again, not through choice and the service was AWFUL! Don't answer the phone, didn't collect car when required...... say no more!

STAY AWAY, THEY ARE THIEVES. This place charged me 3 x the agreed rental price, because I brought the car back in early. I could have possibly accepted the modified amount, but I was not even informed. I will never ever hire a car from Hertz again, yet alone this agency.

Hertz website keeps on crashing. Went to call their office to request to book and their contact number on their Google Business Number is an 0843 number which is not included without price surcharge in most mobile telephone plans.

I've been renting cars for years in Brighton. Hertz is the best value for money company and has never resorted to trickery to milk customers off money. Thrifty and enterprise are particularly bad in this respect, whereas hertz staff has always been professional, frindly amd helpful.

I returned a hire van to this location where the sales person pointed out a partially deflated tyre. No other checks were made, no attempt to find if the valve was faulty, other than the visual one which resulted in a damage report and £107.00 for a new tyre.
To add insult to injury he informed me the tyre element was £75.00 and the rest is for paper work.
NEVER AGAIN WITH HERTZ.

Hired a van and got a Highway Maintenance van with sirens on. Refuelled at the end of the day until gasoline started spilling out. Noticed I got charged an extra 54 pounds, went to shop and was showed a receipt for £16 of diesel they had to add in. For which I was charged £54!!!

Hired a car online. No mention of a £200 deposit required until you arrive to collect. And they won't refund you the car hire you've already paid when you don't have the deposit. So dishonest!!
