Can't contribute a proper review to somewhere I've never been into for shopping! From what I remember walking past the place it would be interesting for anyone looking for ideas on making something unique either for themselves, or as a gift for someone. I would question the validity of this site though. It appears to have a feigned interest in anything a person does or goes, and the software is not accurate enough for the requirements needed. Personally, I find it intrusive that a meander through any shopping area is noted, whether you're going into any of the establishments at all.

The young redhead guy in the cloth house could not have been more helpful. I am not someone who buys a lot of fabric so I was nervous about making the wrong decision. He was patient and guided me the whole way through my purchase. Would definitely return!

I have been there three times and each time was met with rudeness or indifference. Last time the assistants (3) were busy chatting and when I asked for assistance was met with annoyance and my question was not answered so left! Shame as the fabrics are amazing but sometimes a little assistance is required.
Don’t think I shall bother going again.

This is a really great shop. It's a family run business and the staff are super friendly. The fabric is varied, high quality and amazing. You won't find fabric like this anywhere else. I thoroughly recommend a visit.

I’ve been there for 3 times, every time when I came home I found something was missing, the staff forgot to put them into my shopping bag.(that’s why I came back 3 times and each time when I bought something new, some thing will miss when I’m back home) I admit that this shop have some beautiful fabrics. BUT! The attitude of the staffs are awful, when you ask a question, they’ll showing a “ don’t ask me any question” face to you! And they look like they are tried to do any joy, in addition, when they cut the fabric they can’t even cut a straight line! Really unpleasant shopping experience! And some of the staff don’t even fake a smile to you. What a shame that an elegant looking shop with rudely staffs, and unreasonable prices.

The shop was so busy, and not without reason. However as a beginner to sewing I did find it a bit daunting in such a small space without being able to ask any of the assistants for help. There were about 3 or 4 assistants to 15 or 20 people so I didn't feel like I could. I think I visited on a Saturday though, so I'm sure if you went on a weekday you'd have an easier experience. But the range is brilliant, and they have the most interesting collection on fabrics I have so far found, both cheap and expensive, and there are a range of modern patterns which is hard to find.

The staff were so rude and extremely unhelpful. I stood waiting whilst three of them had a conversation before I was noticed and served. Whilst serving they still went of talking! If I asked a question I was looked at like I was an alien and the rude one for interrupting them. Only one young man was helpful, and I was passed onto him so the girl serving me could continue talking with her other colleges. He was lovely, bubbly and happy to answer any questions I had.
Although the actual store is brilliant for fabrics and trims, and many more unique textile products, it is entirely wasted on staff who treat their customers in such a rude manner.

BEWARE! Cloth House employ some of the most hostile staff I've come across in my shopping experience. It's a shame that central London has few fabric stores as otherwise I would shop somewhere else. Several of the more senior staff have seemed annoyed to be asked questions on the numerous times I have visited this shop, which is a shame as they stock lovely fabric but management should train their staff on basic customer service skills. On my most recent visit, a staff member seemed annoyed when I asked if they stocked any fabric similar to Neoprene, which wasn't stretchy, the staff member turned their back and started serving another customer whilst I was mid-sentence. I approached another staff member to ask to speak to management as I was fed-up by the constant unpleasant behavior I've encountered in this shop. The only response I received from the staff member in the most deadpan voice/demeanor was they're often busy during closing time, which I found as a silly excuse for treating customers as inferior.

Staff pretty blunt, except for someone. I purchased and then, keep on browsing, I could hear the sales assistant, a girl with glasses, complaining about me because I just bought some tassels- which kind of complain is it?None of the staff apologised to me.

Lovely fabrics in appealing twee premises in convenient Soho - which no doubt contributes to the massively marked up prices on import fabrics. Basic Japanese fabrics which cost £3 or £4 the metre in Yuzawaya are £16 here. I go here for hard to find stuff I don't mind paying a bit for. Shop elsewhere for the basics.

This shop is pure fabric porn. It's so beautiful. I noticed a few bad reviews so thought I would pass on the experience I had last Friday. I walked into the shop and within a few moments a woman assistant smiled at me and a man who appeared to be the owner asked if I needed any help, but they were fine with me browsing. I was able to pull out rolls of fabric and have a look at leisure and it's so so beautiful. I picked out a bargain remnant and then decided to buy 2 meters of one of their cheaper fabrics - £4.50 per meter - a lovely soft grey muslin I wanted for a lining and got a very nice man to cut it for me. As always, I watched him with the eagle eye - no point finding out you got a short cut when you get home - and reckon he ripped (not cut, so yes nice and straight woop woop) a good extra few cms for me. So I was pleased. He was happy to put it on the side while I ummed and ahhed about a gorgeous ikat that I then didn't buy because I wanted to be sure of the exact yardage I need. There was some fun music in the background which felt very appropriate for a Friday night. So I had top notch customer service and shopping experience. I suspect it can be infuriating to work in this shop because people come into drool over the fabrics for ages and walk out with nothing ~ ask me how I know ~ but yeah I love it! Thanks Cloth House.
