I am really not sure how this garage got any good ratings. This garage seems really dodgy to me!! I took my car to this garage in Jan this year and I was told that it needs £500+ repairing works to be done in order for it to pass the MOT. I was very hesitant as it's a lot of money. They sensed that and offered a discount "because I am a new customer" and cut the price down to around £350. Thought I was getting a good deal and the car is old anyway therefore I went with it. They claimed that they replaced some parts of the hand break which I had no troubles with before however after I took it back from them, I noticed straight away that there are some problems with it - there is simply no hand break anymore! I took it back to them 2-3 times and each time they said it's been and adjusted. The last time I took it back, I had enough of it and wanted a refund but they did the usual thing by pretending it's been fixed and asked me to test the car there and then to show that it's working. It appeared fine at the time but a few days after it's not at all but I didn't want to deal with the hassle and time wasting so I left it because I didn't need to use the car for a while as I live in the city. About a month ago I finally took it to another garage and asked them to have a look. The result is THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE! there are parts missing from the hand break and it rolls down if there's any slight slope. Did they steal parts from my car therefore the parts had gone missing? That I wouldn't be able to verify but what I definitely know is that I paid a high price (would have costed me £500+!!) but got a not useable car back!!

The team at GSF Motor Works in Battersea have been caring for my Porsche Carrera 996 for nearly three years - they are masters of their trade, extremely knowledgeable, reasonably priced and offer customer service second to none. There are sharks out there and there are the good guys - these are the good guys! Highly recommended. Michelle in Customer Service is GSF's silver bullet - responsive, friendly and wildly efficient. Great job, top-quality work and amazing service all round.

A Cautionary tale for my fellow man. I asked them to replace a control door module on a 2006 A4 and nothing else. made it clear I was responsible if it didn't work. Did not ask for further diagnosis. Did not agree to it. quoted me £366.I agreed only to this - verbally. on receipt of the car they then call me an hour later to tell me the door module and window motor need replacing. new quote was £600+ (may have even been closer to £700). this quote is is not reasonable and a clear attempt to fleece (overcharge on part they tried to charge me separately for module and motor when they come as a unit and overcharge on labour). I realised the mistake I made giving them business so asked for my car back. I offered a token £50 for their time spent (time spent they used to try and rip me off) but they demanded £102 before releasing my vehicle back to me, So over a contentious £50 they felt they were owed they were happy to further inconvenience my day and hold a vehicle worth 1,000s of pounds instead of recovering what they felt they were owed via small claims. I didn't know what to do so called the Police as felt it was ludicrous that they would LEGALLY be able to keep my car from me. The police initially said they would not help as it was a civil matter. So I took my second key to my car, found my car on their lot and tried to remove it. It was not in the lot, it was in the body shop so I went to remove it. A very unpleasant elderly man (who refused to give me his name) yanked my door open (almost damaging the door) tried to grab me out of my moving car and yanked the key out of my ignition while it was moving (can this damage the engine?). I called the police as this had escalated to violence (not on my part) and another unpleasant gentleman started hurling abuse at me tell me to get off their private property (which had my possession on it!!) I complied and called the police again this time to report the violent behaviour I was shown. The police came (4 of them) I am embarrassed at the waste of tax payers money to sort something out that was so simple. The police managed to mitigate and the garage agreed to release my car for the £50 I offered. These are the facts of the matter. You can research how much it costs to replace window motors on audi A4's and yourself decide if their quote was fair (watch the youtube instructions on how to do it). You can make your own mind up about someone who would willing be violent and venomous to a customer when they have provided such a sub standard service, they hadn't fixed anything or helped me at all.

was surprised to find this garage very reasonable in price; i was also updated regularly throughout the course of the day where work was carried out to my vehicle in a timely and appropriate manner. Great garage, 29.99 is also the cheapest MOT ive ever seen!!

I took my car here for a routine MOT having had the car serviced twice in the last 12 months. I was surprised to be told that I had £400 of failure points and £200 of advisory points (presented to me as a single quote, I assume to encourage me to nod through the whole amount rather than suggesting a breakdown of works). I decided to seek a second opinion further afield with a trusted garage. They retested the car knowing that it had failed the day before but without knowing which the failure points were. It passed with no failures. I then revealed the full list of issues raised by GSF: the main advisory point (new front discs) was agreed by both garages but the two failure points (new rear pads; new passenger side front suspension strut) were deemed fine, even after this was specifically retested after the MOT by the second mechanic today. MOTs are subjective and you can always get a different result between garages, but this seems too extreme not to say anything. I will not be revisiting this garage in the future.

On the other hand, I had quite a positive experience regarding MOT in GSF! Needed MOT done and with the new regulations in place i was afraid that a huge bill would come up for my old but low mileage left wheel drive car. Those guys sourced parts and applied all required modifications in a budget price. Thank you GSF :-).

Went for a general service in my Polo. A bit far away from my home in Old Street, but fair in pricing and fast.

I took my 1st ever car to this garage and never took any other cars back to them again. The car in question was a 2-3 year old vauxhall corsa and there was an engine failure with the car. I was under no illusion that this would be an expensive job but was recommend this garage through an RAC driver who seemed to be very good mates with the owner. The RAC driver told them I was student at the time after I was chatting to him on the ride there and even made the comment, "even if you don't have the money to fix the car you always find a way to get the money." The cost of repair was inflated greatly from originally quoted and soon after the "repair" I had the same issue and eventually sold the car. I believe because they knew I was student at the time that they could inflate the price as they thought I'd just use my student loan to fix it. Their labour costs are ridiculous and I feel disgusted with myself for even taking it there without doing my research first . To keep this partial this was over 10 years ago that this happened so maybe their services have changed but I based on my own experience at the time I would not use them again. Also, they are not near a station so getting there without a car is a pain anyways

Total rip off I went in there this morning to ask them to do an oil change in my x reg golf. I had the oil and filter, and even a new nut and washer. I was planning th do it myself, but was too busy. So I thought I'd ask them for a price to do it as I'm local and have always wondered if they are any good. They quoted £75 plus VAT which in my opinion is fundamentally dishonest given that is a 15 minute job - admittedly add a while for the engine to drain properly. It was a job id have Asked Queenstown Motors to do except they've changed ownership recently. Opportunistic con men in my book. And they don't take kindly to bring told its a rip off btw! I just read the response from the owner below - whilst as I glad that he was able to tell I am a gentleman, I'm surprised with his version of events - How can a 15 minute job cost that much? I wonder how much they'd have charged if I'd actually wanted them to supply the oi, filter and nut? I took the car up the road to Brixton and they did it whilst I waited for £30 . And that guy behind the counter? Maniac

What can I say - I should have written this review years ago. Great company - friendly, knowledgeable, and always engaging with the customer When I brought my Audi to GFS after bad dealings with a shoddy Putney garage, they gave me a full run down of what was dangerous, what needed doing soon, and what I could safely ignore. They also showed me what the previous garage had charged for, but clearly had not actually replaced. That particular A6 was a lemon, but time and again I would get a call "Dear Mr .... can we keep the car another day? We don't trust the car to give back to you". Very rarely did this result in an additional labour charge to fix what GSF discovered. When I bought the A8 it immediately went to GSF for a checkup - I didn't even have to think about it. Stupidly I wasted a year by believing I knew better than GSF. They said the *new* bosch battery was faulty. I said no, the electronics must be faulty. Many visits later I finally replaced the 1-year old battery, and guess what... that big diesel has started like a dream every day since. So long as I live in the SW and continue to buy German, I'll be going back to GFS. No hesitation.

They are honest in their diagnostics and what needs to be replaced. However they are so expensive, it is fine if you have a German car and do not want to pay BMW servicing If you have a 10 year old French car, go somewhere else cheaper.

I would avoid this garage. They charge £80 labour fee to just look at your car. Ridiculous.
