Pretty cool art gallery. Lovely gift shop and they had an interactive installation as well as a sensory room which was cool. Loved the cafe with the balcony terrace as well, perfect in the summer sun!

The good thing about the Towner is that there is free entry. The downside is that it is all about modern art and installations with barely any time or space given to more traditional paintings or sculpture. The Ravilious collection is housed in one small room. The old Towner had a greater variety of material and it is a huge shame that none of this is displayed. The gallery is style over substance as far as I can see.

A glimpse from outside, near or far, beckons you to enter, a must peruse clinches one's eyes. A feast of Art pieces adorn many areas within these walls, meander where you choose, there are lifts to all floors, there's no excuse to meander. There are many exhibits all through the year. Make sure you take a leaflet to remain in tune of this venue or Pop onto the website to keep abreast of what's on. Immerse yourself in such wonders by the sea.

I came back when they had new artists work to see but I still came away some what disappointed. Its great if you like installations and contemporary art but if you're looking for anything else then it's just a handful of paintings in the same room. Some permanent. With such a large space it's a real shame it isn't utilised. It's always great to focus on local artists but why not celebrate self taught artists with a larger variety? Maybe it's just me but I really like art with form and structure.

Always a pleasure coming here and it's free. A different array of artwork every visit, mostly I like, and could imagine hung on our walls at home. It's very interesting how the word "Art" is interpreted though . Today, a most odd array of different objects hanging off a bar construction, including a lot of black feathers. It obviously means something to the artiste but I came away quite baffled ????. The coffee shop is a must visit. We arrived at about 2.00 and had a late lunch, tasty selection of lite bites. We both had coffee and had avocado on soda bread with a a perfect poached egg on top drizzled with virgin oil, with a hint of chilli, yummy!! On a warm day a table outside on the balcony is great, views of the tennis courts and beyond. We always browse the well stocked gift shop as we leave. Plenty of interesting books and gift ideas for grandchildren. Quite often I buy a card or two.

Watched It's a Wonderful Life at the Towner cinema. The film is a timeless classic and the Towner Cinema does it justice. The seats are very well padded and extremely comfortable, the sound and screen are top quality and every seat in the house has a great view of the screen.

So good to be able to visit a contemporary art gallery on the South Coast that is big enough to host more than one major exhibition at a time. It is a shame that it isn't bigger. But instead it has a great creative space for kids and a cafe that is friendly, tasty and relaxed.

Not really an art gallery appreciator, but this place was nice to visit, cafe at the top was very nice (our reason for visiting) but we had a walk around the gallery and definitely appreciated the sensory room with the massage chairs!

A well considered space that's light and airy. Wheelchair friendly throughout. The cafe is a bit stark but plenty of natural light & we didn't feel rushed. It serves home-made food, cakes & good coffee. There is (pay) parking nearby & a shop in the entrance lobby area.

I saw one of the best pieces of art ever painted , it was the ship in a storm at night by Turner. Absolutely amazing. The cafe is lovely too and the glass windows throughout give breath taking views

A jewel in the crown of art galleries in the South East, The Towner always has something to delight and challenge the senses and your perceptions. Split over 3 floors with a variety of sized spaces, with a new cinema and the soon to be unveiled new Ravilious gallery, the Towner always makes for a wonderful visit. And it's FREE!

Good access, frequently changing exhibitions, a cafe on the second floor with wonderful views of the Downs, and free entry to most of the shows. There is also a cinema on the ground floor and a small cafe, which has a much quieter atmosphere than upstairs.
