Im from Birmingham I went to the Centre because I wanted them to check my application and send it off. They said 99% that it would be approved. I booked my ticket and everything .They did not approve my visa 3 times. Every 3 times they would tell me to apply for a different visa when ever I got to the Centre. They don't call or email you to tell you that they need more documents ect. They don't even answer their phone so you can't even get in touch with them. I had to pay for the fee to get my passport back without the visa. The staff had bad attitudes and was not giving any helps or support at all. The guy that was helping me was texting on his phone. I am still in shocked and so disappointed.

Website is not WORKING so impossible to book an appointment. Called first thing in the morning exactly at 9 am and was on the phone for 2 hours 5 minutes and 33 seconds until I gave up. You cannot use the website and also no one answers your call. They are either understaffed or people aren't doing their job. It's outrageously bad.

I went there to get my visa, and the experience was very good. I think it's because I read ALL their requirements about visa appliation and booked an appointment to be interviewed as well. Someone on google review said they did not know they need to have an appointment, I can only just say they didn't read the website carefully enough. The visa centre was big and spacious and with a toilet and a disabled lift to enter such toliet as well. The receptionist was ok and good at what she is doing, she asked for my name to allow me to enter and giving me a number to be called, and there's nothing wrong with it. inside there were plenty of seats and internet access for emails and a photocopier and a photo booth, although you would have to pay, but hey they even thought about these for you, and it's your responsibility to check and go visa applying. After sitting there for 5 mins my number was called, and a nice Chinese officer interviewed me, and checked all my docs. Becuase I prepared ALL, there's no much talkingat all, and after another 5 mins, he told me my visa was granted. My suggestion for you is that READ their website, prepare ALL docs and they are not tricking you or trying to put you down for fun..... In fact, I found the total experice to be very efficient, and straightforward.

Ok the visa isn't cheap but the process is quick and simple. Sent mine and my wife's passports off on the Monday, they were received on the Tuesday. Tuesday evening lying in bed she realised she needs hers for a weekend trip on Friday, oh. Called them first thing on Wednesday morning and they sorted the visa out and made it available for collection with no appointmeepnt needed first thing Friday morning. A pleasure to deal with, seriously good customer service.

I find very disapointed. Because. We are nearly turn up 2 times a year. Every time the term and conditions change. And couldn't fined from Web site. The staff whom serving in the windows had bad atitues and not give any helps. I don't know what sort of training the staff have been given but it is not good enough especially has people wish to visit China and you would think that the staff are helpfully The copies machine I think is daylight robbery are £1 a copy .different staff give different information which is very confusing

If you look for transit visa information don't waste your time here. It's true getting a Chinese visa is frustrating. Emails not answered even after weeks. Contact by phone nigh impossible, low quality menu recording, difficult to follow. And if you choose to go directly to the centre you get vague information and tell you to try calling again.

Standard tourist visa for a few days passing through. Phone message says you can turn up and queue and website doesnt specify you need am appointment....however when you get here the staff insist on an appointment. Round two...application filled out and instructions followed. What they dont tell you is they need photocopies and print outs and you have to have change to get them. Cue much confusion (some things you need double copies of but of course they dont tell you that!) Overall very shambolic process, really disorganised so can understand the other bad reviews!! Its not complicated give people a list of documents to bring with them.

My application got to them on Friday and they Emailed me then saying that my booking confirmation (through AirBnB) wasn't good enough, so I emailed them back straight away asking what exactly they wanted, along with the hostel invoice. They then emailed back at 3pm on monday saying that wasn't good enough, so i emailed back with the AirBnB invoice and tried to call them. It got to 4pm when they closed and I still couldn't get through, so I called the following day (today) after not getting a response. After 1hr 35 mins on hold without getting through to a single person, they decided to cancel the call and hang up on me. They now have ny passport and it's 11 days till my flight. An absolute joke!

The staff inside the window was so so rude, as a Chinese myself, I was very embarrassed to see a Chinese staff member acted in that manner towards customers, they are the ambassadors for China and the services is not reflecting China as a friendly and welcoming country.

You need an appointment and still takes a while, but once done the collection downstairs is quite quick. Bring coins to print and photocopy last minute support in docs.

One of the most painful processes ever. It deserves no stars at all. Staff are unhelpful (actually rude most of the time). Make sure you bring with you appointment reference number (receptionist refused to look by the name in the list) and loose coins as they will charge you for printing and photocopies - you need copy of flight reservation, hotels and passport. Regretted the stopover to Beijing after this experience
