Very disappointing services. Can only ever get through to an automated voice machine. Does not offer services to approve housing accommodations for visa applications unlike other councils. Have been paying council tax for the past 3.5 years when i now realise that I should have been exempt from paying, however cannot get any response after several emails and phone calls. I do wonder if I will ever hear back from them, let alone receive a refund! *** edit *** when I finally got a response every staff member I spoke to refused to admit that I was eligible for council tax exemption, but after 2 months of perseverance, emails and countless phone calls I finally dealt with the manager and I received my refund. Hurrah! Thank you Wandsworth council.

I cancelled my Wandsworth Nationality Checking Service appointment 3 days before my appointment due to unforeseen circumstances. No refund provided for the £50 fee even if my time slot would have been promptly resold to someone else. ABSOLUTE CON and would have expected a much fairer treatment from a public body. Shameful.

Wandsworth Borough has the 2nd lowest council tax in the country, very large borough with population of 306,995 in the 2011 Census. Council staff are usually very friendly and work hard to help, but most councils are having their incomes squeezed so it is getting tougher to deliver a good service, also the automated 0845 numbers are particularly frustrating although they do offer most services via email if you can build time into waiting for an answer. On the whole I love living here.

Disgusting business practices. The parking meter, phone app AND telephone service didn't work. But then if you get a fine for this and want to dispute it, they charge you an exorbitant additional fee for the right to appeal. It seems they only do a good job when it comes to taking money from residents and visitors.

Can never speak to anyone. Don't do their job. Told them I had moved and still tried to claim council tax from me on a property I sold and obviously not living in any more. Even went to court. Terrible service. Is anyone there doing anything ?

One word.... horrible. Trying to organize things for my 89 year old disabled mother..... so unhelpful and they couldn't have tried to be more disinterested if they tried. So much for helping the elderly in our community. He may have forgotten he will be elderly one day!

What an ego centric council and Staff. They condone fraud by 3rd party contractors to line their pockets and fleece leaseholders and tenants and vulnerable adults. Hence all up in arms banding together to litigate against them. They cannot refute or deny this.

useless corrupt bureaucrats. called them repeatedly for loud music playing under my flat from cycling gym (which they approved to be open from 6am to 11pm). was told no one on duty from mon-weds after 5pm (if anyone wants to organise a rave do it in wandsworth, no one can stop you mond-weds night!). when they finally managed to come to my flat, asked me to turn on my tv to see if the music was louder! also said they can only listen to noise from my living room even though it was 10pm and i said i was trying to get to sleep! best bit was music continued after they left! they did absolutely nothing! well at least as council tax is very cheap - you definitely get what you pay for...

Very efficient and friendly people (well, most of them - a few can be grumpy too ;-)), but all of them come across as really helpful. The only downside with the place is that it is not really close to any tube station, and takes a good half an hour bus ride from Clapham Common. The building is lovely from the outside as well as the inside. Having lived in the borough for over 6 years, I first visited the Town Hall only last month. Been there one more time after that, and both times whatever work I had, it got done within half an hour-45 minutes. Needless to say, was quite impressed.

No actual phone service - the call is redirected to an automated switch board with gazillion choices. Reason I am calling is that online registration online process is actually not working and I get this: We can't process one or more of your answers. Please check the following and try again: Sorry, we could not log you in. The first time you log in, you must activate your account by clicking on the link in the email that we sent you when you created your account. If your activation email is missing, please create your account again and we will send you another email. So how many times do I need to go through the registration process before I actually get registered?

Called over 10 times to try to speak to someone regarding my parking ticket challenge. Got given 4 phone numbers to call, none of which got me to the right person. The person on the last call was rude, constantly kept interrupting me and then just hang up abruptly. Absolute horrible experience

The worst service I have ever come across I didn’t even want to give a star but Had to to be able to write this Wandsworth Council is a complete waste of space this is the problems I’ve had the staff is unhelpful and rude if you call them by telephone you will be lucky to get an answer because the majority of the time they hang up on you maybe is the telephone but for the council to have poor reception isn’t acceptable their automated switchboard is outdated and most of the options bring you to the wrong place and then you get hung up on again i’ve called 11 times and nine of them I was hung up on the rest didn’t even make it to a human being I wish the worst for this place

The worst and most evil council ever, took me to court for a council tax of £180 that i did not know of and had to pay them £380 with court and agency bills. I am not staying in that property for more than 6-7 months and they asked me to pay for the whole year as well. There is no direct line and you cant reach anyone when it is urgent and they take their time to reply to an email
