Called the non emergency number last night to complain about loud music at 2:30am. The dispatcher did an excellent job listening and within 5 mins the music was unplugged!! I appreciate the prompt response and a better night sleep. Shame on the culprits!! Thank you Lakeland Police Dept!

I changed my review on this police department out of respect for my brother who is a police officer and all the good police officers who are not corrupted. My court trial went smoothly and for that and the above mentioned reasons im giving this department 4 stars. I hope one day I can give this department a 5 star review.

Thank you to Officer Wilkerson for his assistance with my hit and run incident today at Merchants Walk. His persistence and professionalism were much appreciated in locating the responsible party and obtaining his insurance information.

Not professional! Do not move to Lakeland to feel safe. I had a man on my property at 3am. I called 911- they took my information and said they would dispatch someone and NOTHING. My husband left work to come home instead. Guess I Best Buy a gun.

When I'm staring at 8 Lakeland police cars at Walmart now , hanging out in parking lot .. it gets me thinking about tax dollars at work truly ... I see this lots of times on South Florida avenue and Edgewood road ..

They pull you over for anything. Then once pulled over, they look for any reason to detain and arrest you. Power trippy too. They let the power get to their heads

I don't know where all these bad reviews are coming from, every officer or staff member I have ever come in contact with has always been polite. I have never been pulled over but it's probably because I don't break the law. If you don't want to get a ticket and you dont want to go to jail, dont break the law, very simple. Just saying. #BacktheBlue thank you Lakeland PD for protecting the community ❤

Just want to give a huge shout out to the Lakeland Police Department. I gave them a call the other day needing assistance after being bitten by a pitbull while attempting to serve someone court papers. The officers arrived in less than 5 Minutes of me making the phone call. When Officer Rose #202 arrived he was able to get dispatch to call the homeowners and have them come outside. So that I was able to serve the documents. .I am so appreciative for their help. Keep up the Great Work and DO NOT be discouraged. Sincerely, Willie Wilson

The officers that assisted me with retrieving my stolen cell phone from the thief we exceptional.. They were fair and tolerant. I have the utmost respect for these men and others brave enough to serve our communities. It was in a very rough neighborhood.

Absolutely racist, never give you verbal warnings for small things, arresting people to earn money. I have been in Lakeland for two days, today I got harrassed, thanks.

They never pull ppl over and write ticket for any traffic violations. Everyone acts like are not there and speed everywhere right in front of them. I notice the troopers are out here more than lakeland police. I guess that's who we pay taxes for so why have a lakeland police force? Any real crimes go to Sheriff's department. What's left? oh yeh nothing that's what there job is nothing.

I would love to say thank you to the officer who took the time to let the kids sit on his motorcycle at Sun and Fun on Saturday Night the 6th. I'm sorry I didn't get your name, we were by the Tower! You sure made our grandson Alex Gillespie along with his friend's happy children. He's stilling talking about it!

Appalled That the decision was made to arrest a woman who was desperately trying to save her own life, by doing something that her husband would not do. Turn over the guns that he was not allowed to have. I always hear that police get so frustrated with victims of domestic violence not taking a stance and pressing charges. This. Is. Why. Women. Don’t. Trust. That. You. Will. Protect. Them! Disgusted beyond belief.

Reprehensible behavior by an officer of this department. Traumatizing a gifted 6th grader who was rightfully exercising his right to NOT recite the (1954 bastardized) Pledge of Allegiance in class but was then wrongfully demanded to by a substitute teacher. Though the child acted belligerent at the administration's demands, this terribly trained Lakeland Police Department resource officer , rather than allowing the administration to handle the child in an appropriate way, took it upon himself to ARREST and have charged the now traumatized child! The school administrators made NO request that any of this be done. This department owes this boy and his family a sincere apology for their inappropriate actions. Until then they've earned this one star review.

I was born and raised in Lakeland but have moved on. Apparently, the Lakeland Police Department arrests domestic abuse survivors when they try to remove guns from the household of someone who has already attempted to murder them. Way to serve and protect, LPD.

Emblematic of what's wrong with toxic police culture. They are servants to the public and need to remember that. They could all quit today and the town would hire (probably better-qualified) replacements instantly to replace them.

Early sunday morning I made a call to Lakeland police department about a tow truck company that was told not to remove a vehicle of the property at jasmine homes were I am a assistant manager the first two offices to respond were Rose and Roberson at that moment I new we would not get the service we deserve as citizens as many times my self I have dealt with both of the officers on several occasions and I've always felt like the laws were never upheld so this morning I asked for a Sargent and one did respond it was officer Fetz and a lieutenant Spade I really fill like after hours of time spent with them there was more that could have been done time after time they said the situation was gonna be resolved only for us to be back to square one office Rose is very unprofessional each and every time I have dealt with him and officer Roberson They do not now there laws and each time have called each other when I have ask for a Sargent this is the first time I have meant a Sargent and lieutenant They gave us a decision on what they were gonna do brought officer Rose and Roberson back and all of a sudden everything changed so at this point I feel like who do you call when your in a situation like this were is our justice system broken.

And the blundering buffoons in blue wonder why they have an image problem throughout the country. Arresting a DV survivor for turning in her husbands guns out of fear for her life. Sounds like it is time to "clean house" within the LPD.

The Lakeland police department is the reason for the phrase, "defend against enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC" in the oath. These are BAD Americans. Worthless at every level; families of this PD thoroughly deserve the high rates of domestic abuse and active duty suicides.

These "cops" are the kind of untrained, over-zealous thugs that would arrest an 11-year-old black kid for protesting the Pledge of Allegiance in class. So much additional training is needed to fix this department, they should just fire everyone and start over.

An 11yr old child voiced his opinion, was accused of making threats that only a full grown adult Male police officer with a firearm heard and was arrested based on this “threat” & “refusing to leave class” even though it was told Talbot did leave the class and said “it’s ok suspend me” How in GOD’s name are you threatened by an 11 yr old little boy in the 6th grade with nothing but a backpack and his voice? EVERY SINGLE adult involved in escalating this situation should not only be absolutely ashamed of themselves but reprimanded to the fullest. The police officer is a joke, the substitute teacher is ignorant and the school faculty does not seem to be caring of children’s well being. This disgusting display of “policing” should NEVER have happened. Do better!

the only reason so far I'm giving one star is the fact I'm in the process of moving to Lakeland and I've encountered two officers or one officer and an overzealous rookie. I'm a vet following work driving home from the grocery store and I get two cars following me. they turn on the lights when I'm 3 houses away from my home. since I dont stop immediately they turn on the siren so my neighbors are disturbed. one guy proceeded to tell at me to grab the steering wheel, then step out and put my hands on the car, all the while yelling while patting me down like I'm hearing impaired. next I'm ordered to put my hands on my head while he searches me again. I Continued to ask why I was pulled and what did I do for him to be so aggressive and search me in this manner. he wont give me a reason and proceeds to search my car. after he finds I'm clean, like I said to begin with, he said I ran a stop sign.i retort by saying you saw me stop, turn my blinker, look at you, then drive off. then he changes it to I ran past the line. his backup or partner, he was a respectable officer. a tall ginger guy explained the neighborhood was not so good a few blocks away. if I knew his name I'd give him kudos he even admitted the rookie was over aggressive. and if it wasnt for my wife and kids coming outside I'd probably be in jail. if I knew it would change things, I'd file harrassment charges. this overzealous so called officer needs an old school reprimand, i remember when they would take you out back and smack ppl with a hose till you learned. I miss those days. some Lakeland police...harrassment at its definition. I hate when someone gets a little authority their head gets them to where they think their unbreakable. thank for the first impression Lakeland

Arresting a 6th grader for exercising his rights. Sounds about par for the course these days. Maybe you could have had a discussion with the parents like the rest of the world would do. Shame on you arresting a little boy over something so trivial. I'm glad to know the sixth grader knows the law. I'm in my 50's and it's been unconstitutional to require children to resite the pedge .since I was in sixth grade. Pathetic response to a pathetic situation.

Traveling around the city, I have noticed so many vehicles with expired license plates. My observation from an untrained eye. WHY don’t the officers on patrol take notice of this? One day I saw five cars with expired plates, one with an expiration of 12/16. Come on guys, might be a petty stop but it’s still a violation of Florida law. Give up the ???? and write a few tickets.

This police department seems to be more pro-violent offender (releasing a guy who rammed car into his wife's car) than victim advocating (arresting the wife who turned in his guns). Shame.

I do not understand why Lakeland police charged the child that refused to say the Pledge of Allegiance. School resource officers should learn to work with students not arrest them.

Rude, very rude. I have never been spoken to in such an awful manner. There is no reason for people to be addressed in such a condescending and just ill manner tone by the receptionist at the station. All I wanted to do was report an attempt of my car being hot-wired. The officer that came to take the report did not believe someone tried to take my car so she basically told me, don't call and check on the case. If you hear something the detective will call you but if not, then he has nothing. The whole feeling of trying to get help but the police act like they won't help just sucks.

I'm a law abiding disabled marine. The lakeland police have put illegals who call to there code violations.2o druggies in a 1 house bedroom.I have live rights.Have plenty of money to drag lakeland pd to court for harassing a cummunity for a long time. Also harassing a senior disabled woman? Looking move. But have gold silver dollars too take on law enforcement harassing disabled folks. Bring it on. I can pay cash for a home in a town that do es not harass home owners and vets while sticking up for illegals rights.bring it on.

Operator for a non emergency call about a cow being loose at 12 am on West Pipken Rd. (Which is within Lakeland city limits) was more interested in arguing with me over the phone about jurisdiction. The operator wanted to transfer me to Hillsborough County instead of dispatching an officer to the area I reported the incident in. Great public safety we have here..probably interrupting her feet on the desk time. Who cares it's just a 1500 lb animal walking down a road that is pitch dark. Pathetic

Too ill prepared to handle children, would rather create an arrest record for menial issues. And now arrests a domestic violence survivor for turning in her abusers arsenal. This department really is among the absolute worst.

Lakeland does not have a police department. They have street cleaners to clean up after all the car accidents. How about writing some tickets once in awhile and justify your existance. I am from Miami and I thought there were bad drivers there nope its Lakeland. Only the troopers do their job. I might see 1 Lakeland officer a day and that's it. If they would do their job there would be less accidents and they would not be street cleaners. I always see people run red lights and careless driving right in front of Lakeland police and they do nothing. Useless department!
