It's a decent sized store with a reasonably wide range of products. The staff were friendly and, although I didn't need assistance, they were helping others and offering good advice. The big stumbling block are their prices and I guess this is the same for most high street retailers - you can buy many of the same products online at cheaper prices. In my case, the rucksack and overtrousers were 30% cheaper online than in the shop. If the prices were only a little bit extra, I'd support the high street but 30% is too big a difference.

While most of the UK is now accepting cash, Cotswold Outdoor is still card only. Poor.

Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff, and generally just nice people! They gave me lots of advice to help me decide what backpack to choose for a 2 night camping trip. Some of the kit they stock can be on the pricier side, but for some pieces it's worth it :)

Looking for an item in the only range of trousers in short length which doesnt give much choice. Apparently system said one left. I noticed the display item was the only one not checked..staff didn't want to check so told me normally regular is used. Felt like an excuse as both staff looked at each other as if to say that's a lot of effort to check. It was 6.20pm and they close at 7pm . Left buying nothing. Probably won't go back.

I came to buy an item that, despite showing stock on the website, had sold out. Magda was extremely helpful and went beyond the expected level of service to make sure I could receive the item within minimal waiting time and before travelling. Fantastic customer service and experience! People make a difference and Magda’s attitude and care definitely did. Thank you :)

Cannot speak highly enough of the manager. Gave very clear recommendations on what I needed for the Inca trail, including what was worth paying a premium for and what could be done more cheaply. His recommended shoes weren't in stock so he tracked them down in another store and called them to hold them while I went to get them - and they've turned out to be perfect. This is the place to go if you need advice for your trip.

Really bad customer service in the Piccadilly branch due to a couple of immature lads. A waste of time, will now have to return the Osprey backpack that I was miss-sold. I asked for a hiking one and now realise that what I’d been advised to purchase is specific to mountain climbing and inappropriate. Quite annoying especially after noticing the two lads were snickering amongst themselves. It was around the time that the shop was closing up (Saturday 29.02.20) and it just seemed like he wanted to make the sale irregardless. Ridiculous service and as stated above, pretty immature.

Recently bought backpacks for travelling. Brilliant customer service. Josh was very knowledgeable (on the products and travelling generally) and seemed genuinely interested in getting us the right product. Unique amongst other similar chains.

Always great service and great products. The only caveat is that this store is rather small and the product selection suffers from it.

I appreciate the convenience of Cotswold Outdoor Piccadilly, as I can cycle there to buy outdoor equipment at short notice. The in-store selection is great, and all the best brands of equipment feature there. If I search online for "the best hiking shoe/the best water filter/etc.", Cotswold's invariably has it. The staff are always positive and happy to help. I have always had pleasant experiences with issues such as returns and applying a discount retroactively.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Especially thanks to the kindness and patience of the male assistant who did a gait analysis for my 11 year old nephew. Thank you.

Visited this shop on 30th August to buy a pair of new hiking boots, based on Outdoor Meet Up group suggestions. There were no other customers, just two staff members chatting between themselves. I wasn't even acknowledged or asked if they can help. I looked at Scarpa boots and walked out.

Amazing attentive service :-)), really impressed at the product knowledge and the genuine passion for the products they sell, I went in to buy walking boots and was blown away!, Elliott measured up my feet and they didn’t have my size in stock so he called the Kingston branch which stocked my size 14,s and got my correct size on order to be delivered to my door, I have visited the store in Bakewell almost a decade ago and received the same high level professional service, everyone else should look up to these guys as this is the benchmark for outdoor clothing shops, if I could give 6 stars I would..

Never in my life been have I been moved to write a positive review for a retail store, but Konstantinos was so amazingly helpful and friendly that I absolutely need to reccomend that you see him if you're in the market for a pair of outdoor shoes.

After visiting the very helpful staff and experiencing the excellent customer service, at your Kensington High Street store (unfortunately my shoe was not in stock.) I was recommended to go to your Piccadilly store where the service was absolutely deplorable. I did want some mens Hokas to try as apposed to the wide womens to see if they would be a better, as suggested by your other store. I was greeted by a rude and argumentative lad...who preceded to speak to me in a condescending manner and argue?! Saying I wasn’t understanding? I said I understood him perfectly that they may be no wider but I just wanted to try??! Did it matter ? Well obviously, he reluctantly got me the shoes and disappeared slamming the door...needless to say I did not purchase and they were a bit better despite being the same as the womens wide fit. I have never come across someone so rude in the service industry!!!

The sales person manning the shoes section is legendary. Excellent knowledge and goes to the extreme length to ensure you have the best fit. I went to 3 different Costwold and this Piccadilly store had the best kind of customer service.

Overpriced, go to Mountain Warehouse on Regent Street instead, where I paid £45 for a pair of very comfortable boots that would have cost `£150 at Cotsworld Outdoor.

A pretty good assortment of outdoor gear. I'm not entirely sure that the centre of London is the best place for an outdoor shop, but who am I to judge?! This place has been around for ages, so they're clearly doing something right. Cotswold is a great mid-range brand, especially for waterproof jackets. If you're flush and in an urgent need of a weatherproof outfit, this is your place. Otherwise, I'd probably venture to the Decathlon in Surrey Quays or another larger outdoor shop.

I went to the Runners' Needs section in the basement and was served by a knowledgable member of staff—it's always great when vendors are themselves runners. I was allowed to take all the time I needed to try on four pairs of shoes and give them a go on the treadmill. There was also no fuss when other customers decided not to buy anything. Additionally, you get two years' warranty if you become a member.

Staff is great and knowledgeable. Advice is always on point and well-informed. They're actually travellers and hikers and not just trained parrots that repeat sales pitches. They also take their time.

A nice, quality shop with some of the better outdoor items at a range of prices. Shoes and boots upstairs always have some good discounts though stock levels not massive. Decent camping section downstairs with tents displayed.

I went to Cotswold to find a Trekking Backpack, and I did'n know much about it. I have been very lucky, there was a shop assistant with long blond hair that explained me everything to know about backpacks. He was very kind and polite I'm so happy about my purchase. And I also got a free warranty for 2 years.

Great staff. Attentive without being intrusive. Excellent knowledge of the products and was able to give information appropriate to my enquiry, not just some "pre-recorded" drivel like I got from #pcworld at Warren Street.

Bought a "new" Garmin watch from this store to later find out that it was scratched. Store manager accused me of scratching the watch and would not accept a return nor refund me. £430 spent on a scratched used watch - this is totally unacceptable.
