Think carefully before funding what is essentially a small dictatorship. I've worked with freelancers who have been and gone there, straight out of university they were expected to work for £14k a year and to live 'not far' from the kit room... in London... one of the slapheads who runs this shady joint is perfectly happy for his employees to struggle on this salary and still expects them to afford living in London.. they also don't allow their staff to drop off kit to a set for a few years in fear they might be snapped and God forbid get a real job.. I'm sure they provide a service you need but it's kind of like buying clothes from primark, there's that uncomfortable feeling that you're funding a slave sweatshop.

Shift 4 are a fantastic kit hire company. I couldn't thank them enough for going above and beyond several times during my first show as a series director. Al Donaldson was super helpful right from the get go. From talking about what kit required to even getting show how to use new equipment too. Al and his team always came up with solutions and delivered the goods every time despite very short notice on several occasions. When I had a problem setting up a bit of camera equipment, a tech guy who's name I didn't catch (Sorry!) talked me through how to use it on facetime.
Would always work with them whenever given the choice and highly recommend them.
