I highly recommend Huntress not only as an employer, having worked for them for over 2 years, but also as an outstanding recruitment agency that found me my most recent role in HR. They are extremely professional and dedicated to doing a fantastic job.

This is the first agency, from the many I have registered with, that actually cares for its customers. They have been showing a level of customer service combined with professionalism that practically sets a really high standard. They always seem to be there for you and first thing they do is get to know you so the service they provide you is for you. I truly appreciate them and wish more agencies were at least a bit more similar to them. In my eyes, this is what success looks like.

Great exoerience as a temp for them. All the girls were lovely and friendly... Jodie was wonderful and found me temp work in a great company. Will go back to them again if I need work and have recommended them to friends.

Horrible experience with Huntress. A few months ago, I applied to a temp role advertised by Huntress as a 2-3 month long contract. At the actual job interview, the employer told me that the role was for 6-8 weeks only, and not 2-3 months as advertised by Huntress (to make the role more attractive?). After the interview (successful), I had a phone call with the Huntress Consultant (shortened HC) from the Brighton office. Concerned about leaving a permanent job (at the time I was in full-time permanent employment) for a position whose terms of contract were not clear, I told the HC that I would only accept the Huntress temp role and quit my job if I was guaranteed at least 8 weeks of work. The HC then rang the Huntress head office in London. After speaking with the relevant account manager, the HC called me back confirming at least 8 weeks of work guaranteed. Reassured by the Head Office, I quit my permanent job, and accepted the new role. Five weeks later my contract was terminated, as I had successfully fulfilled all my job requirements, and my services were no longer needed. When I asked Huntress to answer for the early termination of my employment, they blamed the actual employer –‘It’s their fault because they have done their forecast wrong’, ‘it’s never happened with this employer before’ (account manager from the Head office). Not very professional I know. At senior management level, things did not get any better. My complaint was passed on to the regional director (Crawley office). Her answer to me was that ‘this is how temp work works in the UK’ and that I didn’t ‘have anything in writing’ (about Huntress guaranteeing 8 weeks of work) so as far as she was concerned Huntress did not guarateed anything to me –a very corporate defensive approach to the situation. The regional director didn’t even listen to the phone calls by the way. The week after, I complained to relevant regulating bodies. Funnily (but really not), I was told that I should have not trusted Huntress in regards to them guaranteeing me work. My question then is: if Huntress cannot be trusted, why should anyone (candidates & employers) even work with them? Anyway, my feedback was passed on to Huntress. The Huntress legal advisor’s response was appalling. They attacked me on a personal level saying that I was not happy at my previous job (like that justified their misconduct). They said I was confused and used legalese such as ‘expected dates of the assignment’ (vs what the HC called ‘guaranteed 8 weeks of work’). They said that the employer was not impressed by my behavior (whereas, before receiving my complaint, Huntress staff members -the HC, account manager and the regional director from London- only had words of praise for me). Attack the person if you cannot attack their argument, huh Huntress? To me: a) Huntress provided false (inaccurate?) information regarding the job (duration & terms of employment). This was done based on the account manager’s assumption that, with that employer, early termination of a contract has ‘never happened before’ so it won’t happen this time around either. b) Huntress failed to take responsibility for what happened. Before making the ‘sale’, Huntress did not provide me with accurate information about the role and Temp work regulations (because it was convenient to them). After the sale, and with things not going as expected, they blamed the employer and hid behind the small print in a very defensive fashion. This is the kind of respect Huntress have for who makes them money (candidates & employers). As a jobseeker, you certainly want someone who profits from your work to treat you better than this. As an employer, you don’t want to pay to be blamed, do you?! There’s better value for your work/money out there.
