Staff members knew there job very well, well informed and knowledge was very good.
For bike servicing, there very good.
Would like it if they had more stock available on site, Web site is very good and easy to navigate

Ordered bicycle cassette at click and collect. Arrived to find they didn't have it in stock. Wasted trip. Spent 30 mins waiting for St Albans to answer to see if they had it in stock. They didn't answer. Asked the "cycle mechanic" for two cassette spacers - told me they were downstairs with car items - as if! Wouldn't help me find them. I explained they are a shimano cycle item there is no way theyre downstairs. He sent me packing. Sales guy downstairs said they're be upstairs, I agreed, cue shouting between sales ops up and down the stairs. End result: Wasted 20 min journey, wasted fuel, item refunded but halfords keep my money for 3 days, no item, no spacers, the cycle mechanic is alarmingly inept but then I know this as I fix bikes for a hobby and have fixed 4 local Halfords bikes with forks installed backwards. I had a query with a new battery fitted by Halfords recently so went back into store. I expected a bit of a battle to get it resolved and staff too busy to care in the midst of a pandemic but I got quite the opposite - The staff were excellent, knowledgeable and clearly cared. They replaced the battery free of charge and sorted it out very quickly. David (hope I got his name right!) the mechanic was excellent and a pleasure to chat to, despite having to work outside in torrential rain. Big thumbs up here for an excellent bit of customer service.

Just bought a new second hand car and 3 weeks in my rear wiper blade split. When to the store and spoke to the till staff, who advised me what I should buy. A young man assistant was available straight away. I gave him my keys, and got the wiper and fitted it straight away. After paying I was in and out within 10 minutes. Great stuff.

We went into Halfords in Borehamwood to get a bicycle tyre repair kit for our grandson and granddaughter. We were attended to by an absolutely delightful , charming and professional young man name WILL or WILLY I believe. His efficiency, friendliness and professionalism are something that we generally only see in Spain, where we have another home. Far too often, people like WILL are taken for granted by their employers. People like WILL are an absolute gift for companies, especially when the general level of service is pretty dismal. (Indeed, there was a bearded gentleman upstairs at Halfords, whose name I don't know, who was a "jobsworth" character, who I wouldn't employ under any circumstances)

I bought my son a bike that was 'pre-built' by Halford's team of 'specialist bike technicians'.
When I picked it up, the brakes barely worked so I had to wait for these to be fixed including changing the front disc which was bent. How this happened I'll never know. Its a brand new bike which will be used in some conditions where good brakes are essential yet you're happy to release a bike in this condition?
Really poor show and a very disappointing customer experience.
Ethan was helpful and worked hard to rectify but it's left a very sour taste in my mouth.
Also, for reasons I can't fathom, all calls go to their call centre who don't seem to have a clue about anything so a complete waste of time trying to get any sense out of them.

I visited the store to purchase some oil for my car as it was bone dry!!!!!! I had difficulty in getting the cap off so asked for some help. I was assisted by the manager of the store. He’s was so helpful and informative. He topped the oil up and I explained I travel from Uxbridge to Barnet Hospital daily, for work and hence the high consumption of oil. He advised me on a different oil, when I service the car to fix the high use of oil. He was so polite and respectful. Delivering a professional service. I can’t thank him enough. His knowledge was informative and his passion for presenting a good image of his store was remarkable. I’m very grateful for his assistance as I don’t have a clue about cars!!!! He made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Nothing was too much bother. Thank you again for the excellent service you delivered. You presented well and I was very impressed. Well done.

Also found a Halfords digital tyre inflator in the back of my garage that I bought years ago but never used and that worked fine also. Very helpful staff (specifically a gentleman called Chris who works in the parts department), went the extra mile in all means to help me source all the parts for me to install a roof rack to my car! Chris was EXTREMELY helpful and patient, calling a number of different stores... A great advocate to the team and Halfords brand! He said that he had only been working there for 9 months or so!! He is absolutely future store manager material!
Retail could learn a lot from this mans attention to detail and customer satisfaction! This is why I live coming into stores and not buying online!!!

With so many suppliers trumpeting that they are 'passionate' about customer services but then hiding behind covid to be virtually inaccessible, it is noteworthy that all my recent visits to halfords have been a delight. Replacing a failed product is normally the low point in retailer relations but Halfords did not put me through the mill and replaced the item instantly and without quibble.

Bought tyres online from Blackcircle and the fitment centre was Halfords Borehamwood. My appointment was Saturday 1pm. At 4.20pm I was called to say that my van had not yet been done and that they close at 5pm and would I like to book in for another day. I said absolutely not. They worked very quickly to get the van finished by 5pm, obviously a rushed job. They must have knocked off a spring that works with the handbrake. I arrived to collect my van and found that my handbrake was completely loose and was not firm as it had been when dropping the van off. I called to complain and they said to bring the van in on Tuesday to have a look. The hand brake was even worse and and the van was not running freely as the pad was stuck to the disc and I could smell burning from my tyres when I arrived home. They obviously tried to tighten the cables quickly. They denied everything when challenged. I have now had to pay a mechanic to fix what they caused. By the way they also made it clear that I didn't buy the tyres from them and that they just fit for BlackCircle. They were rude and unhelpful. I would give a minus star review but it is not possible. I don't recommend anyone using them as I feel they do things to get more business.

Having read up about what axle to have new tyres fitted on, I called Halfords Borehamwood to check whether they would rotate the tyres and fit new ones on the rear axle. Following consultation with the fitters, I was told that this could be done without any extra charge and was advised to make a booking online and request the rotation on the day.
On the fitting day, following a wait of about an hour, I was told that they would not fit the new tyres onto the rear axle apparently because they considered it less safe. I was not given the option to sign a disclaimer and was told that my only choice was to accept fitting onto the front axle or cancelling the fitting appointment.
I chose the latter. Following this, Halfords did not refund the fee paid until after I chased them over a month later.
I later managed to get the fitting done at the local Costco with no issues.
