This practice is pretty good. Efficient reception in my opinion. Only once had a problem. The Drs I have seen here have been extremely professional and kind. I've seen a couple of nurse practitioners who have a bit more time and were really knowledgeable. Screening nurses and phlebotomists were really friendly. When I have needed help I have been triaged appropriately to what I needed and have been very happy with the decisions made. I had a worrying problem this week and was offered same day with a Dr. For more minor issues previously I was offered same day with a nurse. At the very least I have had a call with a Dr on the same day. I got there 40 minutes early and was seen straight away! Can't really fault the service I have had here. Got exactly what I needed quickly and without fuss. So much better than I have heard from others about services in Brighton. I'm a nurse so I hear about a lot of awful services in the local area. Interested to see what changes bring but seems to have improved already.

Yes you wait but so what, the staff triage according to greatest need and I knew on arrival it would be 2 hours. This is a service we never used to even have so if you needed help on a weekend that didn't warrant a trip to A&E you'd be scuppered. The staff are actually lovely (and it's a hard thankless job it seems) it's warm, its comfortable and there is TV, water and a drinks machine. And all right by brighton station so desperate out of towners like me can bus in and be seen by a caring professional.

My experience of this surgery is extremely poor. My prescriptions (before I selected to use online service see below) have been routinely wrong, forgotten or cancelled without explanation. Dr's have been rude, rushed and unsympathetic in the extreme. Walk in patients seem to get priority over registered patients for urgent attention. If you have an ongoing condition you cant make an appointment in advance. There is no pro active approach to prevention and well-being - and there is a significant absence of a well man service. Generally hygiene of the waiting areas, reception and toilets is very poor. On the good side the call back service is often responsive (though the quality of Dr care poor) and the online prescription service seems to work on the whole but is sometimes very slow. Basically don't register here - go else where - and only use this surgery as a walk in if you really need to.

the worst surgery i have ever visited. i have a longterm health condition that severely affects my life, and instead of investigating it, they repeatedly send me away and park me on medication that doesn’t work. they won't refer me to any specialist and i don't have any answers. it is not good enough. FYI I sent in a complaint, but it was ignored.

I needed to speak to someone today (a Sunday) about an emergency matter. The receptionist was extremely helpful and courteous, and offered constructive advice and reassurance, and pointed me towards the NHS 111 phone number, even though there was not a doctor or nurse that was able to see me in the time I had available at the centre. Thank you.

Really dislike this centre, long waits for the walk-in service. Makes you feel like cattle to the slaughter. Convenient location and offers limited sexual health service for those in need.

The fact a lot of people seem to forget in the other reviews is that it is a public Walkin Centre. It is going to be busy and not the best practice in the country. Most people should go there if they need to see a GP on short notice for a minor checkup and are willing to accept it is going to be busy. If you want to see the same GP over a long period of time for a major health condition, this is not the practice for you. Based on that premise, the centre does a pretty good job at what it is there to do. It is clean and although it maybe a little understaffed, most of them that I have had experience with, have acted in a professional manner. Overall if you take this into account the practice is quite adequate.

DREADFUL!! AVOID IF YOU CAN! JUST CALL 111. Old lady working as a receptionist working on 27/05/2018 was absolutely horrible to nearly every patient that dared ask her a question. She's miserable and not sympathetic at all!! She definitely needs retraining or just make her redundant and replace with someone ready to do her job.Probably needs to retire. Blimey! How can one be so miserable?

(Very rude Doctor and dangerous to patients- due to not doing her job properly) I've came in because of breathing difficulties due to a really bad cold which was going on for over 2 weeks. When I was finally been seen by the doctor I already new it wasn't going to go well because even her ''hello' was rude... She sat me down and looked into the top of my throat and just told me that my throat was just red in a rude voice and didn't believe me that I've been struggling to breath due to blockage at the bottom of my throat.(she pretty much called me a lier) and she wanted me to leave. The problem wasn't at the top of my throat but it was my chest and bottom of my throat. She didn't listen to my chest and didn't care about anything that I had to say. I've left the clinic very upset and still worried because few days gone by and I've still been struggling and waking up during the night due to berthing difficulties. I understand it might of been a long day for her but if you can't deal with what ever issue she had, than she shouldn't be a doctor.

Went for a walk-in appointment to check a strange rash that had me concerned. It wasn't particularly busy in there but an entire Grand Prix race started and finished before I got seen. The doctor did a vague Google search and basically said "I don't know what it is, I don't recommend any treatment, go see your GP but he probably won't know either." Nice one.

Poor service, can't even see a doctor until you've had a phone call from one. I went in to book an appointment with an inflamed ear and very painful and it needed to be looked at and they would not let me see a doctor until he had called me to say I'd could come in. Then they would book an appointment for me....all very time consuming and I just wanted to sort my ears. Don't bother with this place.

I can only suggest to NOT REGISTER here with a GP. The rudest desk point ever, appointments are always delayed and when you are FINALLY able to see or speak with a doctor they won't help you either in solving or investigating. In my phone appointment I have been insulted from a doctor for my nationality (I'm not English), he told me to go to my country to be cured instead of coming to England and exploit the NHS. Unfortunately the doctor din't put into account that I've been regularly working and paying taxes for 4 years in this country and that I have the right to be cured here like everyone else. This has been outrageous! I asked to report the call to one of the centre employee and they told me I couldn't because they don't record calls. After this really unpleasant episode I have achieved to see another doctor and I hoped foolishly I could see the "light after the tunnel" unfortunately when I have asked for allergy tests, since I have breathing and hearing issues likely due to allergies, I've been just prescribed antihistamine and nose spray which I have obviously to pay privately....but no test for me. The funny thing is that if I feel better with tablets, and so for common sense this is the proof I'm allergic, I won't have the right to have a test or to see a specialist. This means that although not knowing what I'm allergic to they will fill up me with expensive drugs everyday for all my life! What handing!!! the only positive point of this hell is that Nurses are generally nice.

If i could give 0 stars i would. This is place is a joke and its dangerous. At the reception they are rude and they treat you like they dont give a #### about you and the doctors are even worst, seems they dont know what they doing. I had a urine infection i been to this medical centre 3 times during last week, and 3 different doctors told me i had 3 differents problems and they tried to give me 3 differents antibiotics.THIS PLACE IS DANGEROUS! PEOPLE LIKE THIS SHOULDNT BE WORKING IN A MEDICAL CENTRE. i was incredibly shocked when i saw how people was working in this place.

If it was possible to give zero stars I would. We walked in an hour ago with a one year old baby with a severe rash that turned up this morning. After 90 minutes of waiting we asked at reception (who had promised a quick triage) and were told they would ask a nurse. Ten minutes later a nurse turned up and literally attempted to diagnose out little girl in the corridor. She didn't even look at the rash and concluded we could go back outside and wait. Didn't even take ten seconds to look at it. If you have any other option in the known universe you should avoid this place. Neither being busy not being a walk in clinic excuse a basic level of care / which as far as I'm concerned having a conversation in a corridor is not.

Phoned this service after being told by my local pharmacist told me to attend as my sergery just closed, i went home to take medication that stops my lungs from using too much oxygen and telephoned the walkin Service to be told i could not attend and should get help somewhere else like 111, who told my that i would receive a call from an out of hours Service. From what my Pharmacist told me i was in trouble as i have an red infection track running from my hand up my arm and past the elbow. This is as serious infection and with a low imminently system i am at risk, but this drop in centre wouldn't even see me! I feel this is disgusting and a bad serice.

Unsympathetic, condescending doctors every time. Doctors like to ask what I think it is, as if I went to medical school. Can't get an appointment even though I have been registered there for years. Only telephone appointments. Have been sick over a week and have received the same level of dismissiveness from the doctor via the phone who, when I expressed that I really needed to be better as soon as possible (after it going on for a week) told me that "Sometimes mother nature doesn't care about what's convenient" which is pretty obvious. Going to change GPs now. Other people's surgeries sound so much better.

I have an ear infection and was just turned away half hr ago as they have (supposedly) a 2 hrs wait. There weren't that many people waiting. In fact when I walked in I though oh it isn't that bad today I got lucky. Also they are supposed to be open until 8 pm anyway.

I would not recommend this service to anyone. I was refused an appointment with a doctor. When I eventually saw a nurse, and told him I had infected tonsils, he did not even use a light to examine the back of my throat, and therefore missed the symptoms proving that I had bacterial tonsillitis (which a second opinion at my usual clinic diagnosed me with), and sent me away refusing my request for antibiotics. If there is another service you have access to, do not use this clinic.

Absolutely revolting! Poor service describe this clinic with the worse customer service that I have ever seen and I am French! I had issue 4 days after my C section, my midwife told me to call my daughter to get some antibiotics and to give her name for reference the doctor was adamant and wanted to see me, I told him I had a C section and it was difficult for me to work to what I got the answer somebody can drop you or it will do you good to walk.... absolutely heartless 7 weeks later I need the doctor to check my C section scare, I am told when I arrive for my appointment that the doctor is off sick: how ironic! No text or message to let me know before that will be too much courtesy On the reschedule appointment I did arrive 10 minutes late as with a baby all is not easy: the doctor refused to see me as I was late Needless to say I changed clinic now I will not recommend this clinic to my worse enemy

Excellent service all around. I went on Tues morning, arrived at 10.10am and after a very short wait (less than 5 mins) I was seen by a nurse. I had cut my finger with a knive. The nurse cleaned the wound and dressed it using steri strips and I was out by 10.30am. All staff very friendly and helpful. Thank you

I had previously used the centre in an emergence and they had been excellent. However, this time was a different matter. I only go to doctors as a last resort and had a very bad fever/flu for over a week. I had been working abroad in Central Asia immediately before and decided I needed advice and help. I went to this practise because my own was closed at weekends. So I saw a nurse and she took my temperature and she simply said 'take paracetamol for up to a week'. I explained to her that I had taken paracetamol for a week, thats why I was there. To which she replied 'well, eat more fruit then...' 'Fruit?' 'Yes, fruit is good for you....' 'I dont doubt, but in your expert medical opinion, my best treatment is......fruit?' She clearly never graduated beyond the 'apple a day' rhymming couplet school of medicine I believe she also treats a broken leg with a nice cup of tea, and internal bleeding with an early night and a hot water bottle

Reception staff were rude and tried to make me come back the next day, when I explained I couldn't they got very grumpy. I waited four hours to be seen for flu/very painful sore throat. When the nurse saw me she was actually pretty great, examined me thoroughly and thought I most probably had a virus rather than bacterial infection so proscribed me antibiotics on a delayed script, only to be used if I didn't get better within 48 hours as I had a very tight schedule and some unmissable commitments later that week. When she went to get it signed off by a doctor the doctor followed her in, insisted on making me stand up to be examined all over again and that I tell him 'my story' all over again because "she told me but I want to hear it myself". He then lectured me about how I didn't need antibiotics because I had a virus, which the nurse pointed out had already been established but which can sometimes progress to a bacterial infection so the delayed proscription would allow me to get treatment in case it did without coming back and waiting four hours again. The doctor got angry with her and left the room, leaving me without the proscription. His manner was appallingly arrogant and disrespectful, I was pretty shocked.

Went in with a rash spreading up my arm and a 40 degree fever. Was told I had lupus after the nurse/doctor googled it in front of me. Told me to go home. With lupus. I went to the hospital and discovered it was a spider bite. Who casually disgnoses lupus and tells the patient to go home, "you'll be okay"

Went with an ear infection. Without really even checking my ear I was told I had scratched it and there was nothing they could give me. The following day I had to go to the walk-in center at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, where the doctor told me I had a bacterial ear infection, prescribed me oral antibiotics and an antibiotic spray. They also included ibuprofen and codeine as the ear was obviously so inflamed and painful. The service from the doctors here is absolutely awful and the reception staff are also rude.

I dont know how this surgery is soo bad, every time i put in a repeat prescription it doesnt go through with no explanation or update, they also have loads of stupid rules like you cant order a repeat prescription over the phone and to get a doctors appointment you have to ring at 8am, i just spoke to a receptionist and when i told her i was unhappy with the service she told me to go register with another surgery, these are by far the worse doctors surgery ive ever had to deal with

Staff are pleasant and very hard working but the system of having GP's phone back to screen you before you can have an appointment has caused me numerous problems - mainly with the GP's being so over-stretched that they call back several hours later leaving me to have to discuss personal health issues wherever I may be at that time (supermarkets and so on) also getting through to reception is a total nightmare. Recently I was hung up on 9x while attempting to get through to them. The reception is seriously understaffed. CareUK need to sort their staffing levels out.

They instigated an appointment for my over 40 health check. They cancelled it first time with no notification. They cancelled the re-scheduled appointment with 1 hour's notice on a telephone message. They are unable to re-schedule because their booking system can't handle it. What a time-wasting bunch they are. So sad.

Nasty, condescending receptionist was more concerned with whether or not the nurse could handle more patients than the actual patients. Only came here because it's the only walk in centre in Brighton. Horrible place, let your condition get worse and admit yourself to A & E. Better than coming here. They do not care about you.

Returning from a long overseas contract in Canada i called this number as i need a full professional medical and a repeat prescription. This is when you realise you're back in the uk. Can't do this, can't do that, nothing positive or helpful about this place at all. Apart from being spoken to in that irritating sing song voice as if i were a kindergarten child, no solutions were offered to my lack of initial ID in the form of utility bills to allow registration. No walk in service offered either, and coming from a culture where a walk in service will get you fixed up without hassle for most everyday needs I found the attitude patronising, rude and un helpful. Needless to say I am looking elsewhere.

For the second time this week i have called before 9am trying to get an appointment. They are short staffed, and by 9am all the appointments for that day are gone. You have no choice but to try again the next day. When you DO see a doctor, it's always a different one, they don't follow up with you on things.. it's turned into the most soulless and useless GP. I'll be finding a new one.

I thought I'd write a review as I have nothing better to do now I'm up in pain at 4 in the morning. Visited this clinic yesterday morning with all the symptoms of tonsilitus and a long history of getting it. Appariently my symptoms were not impressive enough to warrant anti biotics so I was recommended a dose of 'dried toast'. Appariently I can't have the treatment I need because the NHS have been overprescribing antibiotics and the nurse would 'get into trouble' if she gave me anything. Well, I'd just like you guys to know I lost money taking time off work to wait an hour and a half to see the nurse yesterday who wouldn't help me. I can't sleep because I am in so much pain because you wouldn't help me. It makes me feel so sad that you treat ill people like this who come to you for help

Really disappointed with the service here. -they lost three blood tests and denied this had happened- promising to ring me as soon as the results came back which was just a delaying tactic. It took me insisting on booking a new blood test for them to admit they had lost them. Then had to undergo another three blood tests. -I was misdiagnosed with IBS when I actually have coeliac disease. My new doctor (couldn't stand being with this surgery anymore) was shocked that I presented the doctor with my symptoms and didn't get a coeliac test. Was suffering as a coeliac (which when undiagnosed presents a lot of serious health implications) for 8 months without the doctor realising, despite regularly going in with complaints and coeliac disease being one of the most common intestinal problems in the UK. -Was advised to see someone about a FODMAP diet for the incorrect diagnosis of IBS which cost me £90, and have since found out that I could have got that appointment on the NHS for free, but the doctor didn't refer me. All in all I was so disappointed with the care I received here I have moved surgeries.

0 - for one main reason. Awful experience with receptionists every time I have gone. There is an old brown haired receptionist with a full front fringe, please avoid her - she for some reason believes she is some kind of medical expert and is very condensending. She is constantly reading out forms very loudly as well discussing symptoms and private things on the form as loud as she can for some reason. Apparently she is also an expert of when you can come in and how much pain you are in, I have never in my life had such bad service, I'm shocked this women hasn't been fired as it is obvious that this is the woman people have been complaining about in all of the reviews. I came in to the surgery earlier and was prescribed antibiotics after I picked them up I went to health centre just down the road again to get some water to take my medication as soon as I could, and she shouted in front of everyone in the waiting room and that is not a public convenience where we can just walk in. I pay taxes and the NHS is a public service - I was in pain and just wanted to take my medication as soon as possible, however this women without asking what was happening shouted from the receptionist office causing everyone to stare. As well as this when I did come in she told me to go elsewhere, I refused as I did not have a registered GP and was directed by the 111 service to come here, however a patient who just wanted a check up before going holiday was seen before and wasn't spoke to rudely, perhaps because she knew her. She has no respect for patient confidentially, no manners, is quite clearly rude and condescending - I don't know how she still has her job. I have never had any problems with the rest of the receptionist staff or the doctors or nurses.

I used this place but in line with most comments here it was lack-lustre and half-hearted. I had a long wait to see a nurse who couldn't really say what was the problem, but I did get some antibiotics. ...but this is the future of the privatised NHS. No good complaining ..... it's what the country voted for. On the news today ..... due to a shortage of doctors some GPs to be replaced with paramedics.

DO NOT REGISTER HERE. Although I really appreciate this clinic's walk in service (particular the sexual health clinic as the nurses are really nice) for anyone without a registered doctor (not that it's a particularly good service as you have to wait up to 3 hours in the waiting room, but to be fair it's the only one in Brighton), I urge anyone considering to register with them, not to. Both me and my partner have had extremely bad experiences here - and have often been told our symptoms were 'nothing' and turned away - on one such occaision my distress at having extreme fatigue, dizziness and a numb face a few days after finding a lump in my groin ("this is very common, glands come up and down all the time, it is nothing") was completely dismissed, the GP actually said in a flippant tone about the fateigue and numbness 'I don't know what that is, it's nothing' - I had said I suspected it to be Glandular Fever and again was dismissed in this particular doctor's way of making you feel like a Hypochondriac. I immediately went to my parent's doctors in Hassocks and was taken seriously, given a blood test and was confirmed to have Glandular Fever as I had suspected all along. Then 5 months later when I experienced a sudden fever, swollen neck glands, a 3 week long cough and other worrying symptoms, the same doctor said "have you considered this is just a cold?", I broke down in hysterics - I hadn't felt this ill since the glandular fever but was being dismissed as 'having a cold'. Again I went to my parents doctors and was taken seriously, tested, found to have a serious throat infection and was given antibiotics which cleared it up in a week. My partner was also subject to extreme pain when a nurse tried to burst his ingrown toenail blister with no warning, and no sympathy when he shouted out in pain. At least one of the GPs (and there's only two working here, I wonder why) is actually practising in a neglectful and harmful way to his patients so I would advise you to stay away in case he misdiagnoses something fatal. I am overjoyed to say I have now left this surgery.
