Dreadful place, incompetent staff with only a basic understanding of English, the worst contact service of pretty much any where I have ever tried to contact both website and telephone, I have never got to speak to an actual person, even when it matters. Good only for repeat prescriptions, not much else.

Been with the practice since I was born and never had an issue. Yes, of course you will wait on hold but you can book online and the doctors will prescribe over the phone if needed. There Covid precautions are top tier! The receptionist are lovely, I have never experienced seen or heard them being rude in the entire time I have been here. I have to wonder if the people who say the ‘receptionists are rude’ are just projecting. Great doctors, great place!

I had a great experience at the practice this morning. I saw Nurse Brencher who successfully removed my incredibly stubborn Nexplanon impant. She was super friendly, patient, and reassuring, and worked into her break to help me. I defintely recommend this practice!

Worst doctors ever last call with the doctors she had my medical history wrong was following up on a call to the surgery about Serious on going medical problems that I finally though I had address I had to explain it all to a doctor who hasn’t bothered to read my nots then she asked what I wanted from her and I told her I wanted to move forward with treatment that. Had be previously agree to (yet again they didn’t bother to sort it) abs for there doctors to start treating me like a human being the doctors said that’s not gonna happen I am disgusted with this surgery attitude to it Patients

I can't believe the level of incompetence this medical centre has shown me. I poke to doctor for a prescription who said she would send it to a specific pharmacy and I just had to go and pick it up. So I went the next day and waited in line for 40 mins (covid times) only to be told that they had not received anything. I call the next day to ask what had happened, I really need this prescription for anxiety medication, can you please send it to them. I was told literally while I was on the phone with the lady that she had solved the problem and had sent it off. So... I go to the pharmacy again and wait in line for 40 minutes again. To find they had received nothing from St Peter's medical centre. The pharmacists tried to help me outby calling the medical centre which is obviously not the easiest group of people to get in touch with. I had a public breakdown for the first time in my life. And I still don't have a prescription. I hate leaving bad reviews but this is hands down the worst medical related experience I have had and it was such an easy thing to make right. They either lied to me or are spectacularly useless, either way, I would say look elsewhere for your healthcare providers.

I been asked to to fill the registration form on line as this is the only way they accept a new patient registration . I register , send the prove of address and document all the same day in October . In February I contact the medical center and to try to book an appointment but they never registerd me as their patient. No email , no call, and when I try to look for an explanation and some sort of solution they even stop to reply to my email. Poor poor poor customer service .

“Could do better” echoes through my head as a child. Which belongs to all children. And this is my current rating I have replaced my last one. Though being underfunded doesn’t help. I really wish I felt I could post a better rating but we live in hope. And realistically there aught to be another Half Star ⭐️ spliced onto the end of the above rating. In my first review I talked about my personal experiences with some of the doctors and at the time they didn’t know my requirements though I still stand by the rating. However now that the North Laines Medical Center is part of St Peter’s Medical Center and the staff that are new to me come across as very helpful though they are tied by the notes dictated from the North Laines Medical Center. So, ultimately I believe that the merger pending and uniting both medical centres must have been dawning and possibly influenced how various members of staff work. A single review cannot guarantee what is in effect the birth of a NEW medical center until it’s had at least 18 months to 2 years of working in the public domain. And as long as I or someone else bothers to post another in 2 years time then the new one aught to be more credible than today especially during this time of great uncertainty.

Awful. Got a text telling me to call to book an appt for a flu jab. Been calling solidly now for about 3.5 hours, dial, listen to voicemail saying "unfortunately we are experiencing very high call volumes..." and then it hangs up. Have called approximately *500* times in just over 3 hours. Not a single person has answered, only the robot. Their phone system is broken and they're all sitting around yacking about how it's not busy today. It's because you never answer the phone!

Nurse Black has been amazing at talking to me about mental health and supporting me. Regularly checking in with phone calls. It really has put my confidence back in the NHS mental health system.

Amazing GP surgery. Have always listened to me and advised me well. They always put in extra effort and are extremely courteous, well-informed and accommodating. In these times of increasing pressure and diminishing budgets they do an outstanding job.

One of the best practices in Brighton, but clearly overstretched in the current climate of central government funding cuts. While I've never had to make any kind of emergency appointment request, I have found the staff and Doctors to be most helpful, sympathetic and kind. The days of being able to get an immediate appointment are not where we are right now unfortunately, however if you're fine to wait for up to a week then there's no problem. I can see how this might push people to A&E for non emergency care, but 9 times out of 10 if you're willing to visit the practice and wait for a missed appointment you will be able to see a doctor within a few hours. Not ideal, but it helps to be flexible to enable the Doctors to be flexible in return.

I know doctor's surgery receptionists are meant to be rude, dismissive and condescending, but these really are the best of the bunch! They really help cut down on the call times by treating people like such absolute garbage that you would rather just die than ever talk to them again! Tie that with a 30 minute wait and complete lack of compassion and availability and you've got gold star of the industry.

I am so sorry to write this review. I have always been so complimentary of this practice, having been registered here for 35 years and having had wonderful help through each of life's phases. Their doctors were widely recognized as leaders, and the receptionists kind and efficient. It now feels almost impossible to get an appointment and some of the doctors are rude and abrupt when they call; a face to face appointment is very hard to obtain. Maybe they want us all to leave in order to alleviate the pressure on their service?

I have been with this practice for a very long time but since the influx of the new younger GPs I feel they are too bothered and very patronising. This used to be my local friendly surgery round the corner now I feel very alienated and I'm not happy staying there. But for the moment needs must

One poor example would be one receives a text inviting you to attend the surgery at a specific time but on arrival you are told the text was only for a telephone call-back that never comes! A Total waste of time having to contend with defensive receptionists who are not prepared to even listen and be of assistance.

Honestly don't bother with them. You can't even call up to book an appointment because their phone lines are either down or they hang up on you so you always have to go in to book it but they will keep turning you away keep telling you to come back the next day and do the same again and again. I wasn't able to see a doctor face to face until 3 months of trying they say they are usually all booked up 2 weeks at a time. When I did see the doctor she didn't give me my full prescription nor sign for them properly so I most likely will have to wait another 3 months of not being on my anti depressants and anti anxiety medication until it gets sorted out.. Talk about neglect. I'm moving surgeries.

I've called 3 times today & been kept waiting 20 minutes in the queue every time. When finally getting through the staff informed me I could have a call back the first time, for which they called the number I told them wasn't working. When I got through the second time I asked if it would be possible to get the call before I started my work session. They said that was fine & called an hour after the time I said I couldn't answer from. The third time I was told tough luck & try again tomorrow in as many words. I spent an hour on the phone today to absolutely no avail.

Switched to this doctors after a previous doctor surgery wasn't very helpful and I hadn't felt listened to. The nurse I saw here was extremely friendly, helpful, and seemed to know her stuff very well. I felt more relaxed and able to talk here, and staff seemed very supportive and understanding which is reassuring as I often get nervous booking and attending appointments due to anxiety.

I have been with SPMC for years and not once been fully satisfied. Every day I call from 8:30 onwards to get an appointment before they're booked up but I am always hung up on point black until well after 9 when they say they open at 8:30, and even then I'm lucky to get so much as call back. Doctors a great, reception seems lovely, but I would never in a million years recomend this surgery to a stranger let alone loved one.

I keep calling and trying all of the extensions but nobody pick up the phone, 'pharmacy to you' has been trying to contact them to get my regular on repeat prescription for a week with no luck. I am chronically ill and running out of meds again and this issue keeps happening regularly. I moved to this center over 6 months ago and even though I keep giving them my medical reports in person they keep loosing them. The receptionists are nice but unfortunately nothing work as it should. If you're actually ill like me this center is not for you!

After 2 requests for prescriptions being processed incorrectly over a week ago, I had to call the doctors a further time to correct their error. After a 25 min wait I finally speak to someone who can't change the script for a further 3 days. In the meantime I'm left with no medication for my asthma. Wouldn't recommend this surgery.

I lef this surgery because they were so bloody awful, especially the reception staff and understanding doctors re mental health issues. I joined North Laine surgery who were fabulous but now, due to the lease ending, they have joined together with, you guessed it, St Peter's and it seems nothing has changed. Do yourself a favour and run as fast as you can in the opposite direction and never look back. If I could give zero or minus stars I would.

Sad to say that I wouldn't recommend this practice atm, I'm only there because my own gp surgery merged. I find it really frustrating trying to get an appointment, often spending a stupid amount of time on the phone to start with, and not getting through. I don't like being asked why I need to see the doctor by the receptionists either. At least I have had a few immediate ring backs which I found refreshing, just not with a gp I know. I've also just found out I can make an appointment online so that takes the stress out of things. I really hope things improve as I will miss my doctor if I leave.

Avoid. Impossible to get a phone call appointment let alone a face to face one with a doctor. Call at 8.30am to be put into a queue of callers and finally get through at 9am to be told that they’re fully booked up for the day, how? Nearest appointment is in a week today. Constantly bad service, oh and the receptionists think they’re doctors and constantly either ask questions about your health conditions or speak about them loudly on the phone.

This is the best surgery I've ever been too!! They are the loveliest doctors ever!! Very understanding, sympathetic and will actually listen to what you have to say and your concerns instead of trying to shove you on medication then out the door. I've never felt uncomfortable and always feel valued at this surgery and have recommended it to a lot of friends in search of a good surgery Thanks for all your support guys :D

does this thing have negative stars?? I'm not sure what St. Peters medical centre is, is it a takeaway?? maybe it's a call centre?? if you're reading this and you're collapsed at the doors of St.Peters with 2 broken legs take your phone out, search for the nearest proper doctors and walk there

Really not impressed with this surgery. I gave it a year in the hopes it improved but the receptionists are all pretty rude and not efficient, I had 4 blood tests cancelled at the last minute and you really get the impression that they are not on top of their patients health at all. I give up!

Had nothing but problems since the recent merge. Phone is almost never answered. Its probably easier to bottle a rainbow than get an appointment here! Shame, our whole family has been with Dr. Sharp etc.. for generations, including myself & children since birth! NEVER thought I would say this but im looking to transfer us all to another surgery, with deep regret and sadness but this new setup is extremely frustrating and we feel neglected quite frankly. Tried to call again today after receiving a text asking me to and surprise surprise no answer AGAIN!!

Well respected medical centre, I've been using them since 2000 and a patient at the surgery since 2001. My first experience was getting vaccinations for a trip to India through the travel clinic. I've only ever had an issue with one doctor (who has now left). Given it four stars because it's very busy, although they can offer evening appointments for those who suffer with anxiety, etc. Has online appointments.

Sadly the phone system is impossible, has taken me an hour to get through today, trying on 3 occasions. When you do get through i wanted to be able to speak to a Doctor, was given an hour slot, when im working the next day or one in two weeks!, i also had to go into a lot of detail with the receptionist as to what was wrong with me, which im not happy about. Some things are difficult enough to talk to with a Doctor about, but you shouldnt have to discuss it with a receptionist. Once you do get to speak/see a Doctor the service is really good. Shame about the shambolic telephone system.

So I was suffering with my breathing. I phoned up asking if I could make an appointment.. and the receptionist (they are not drs) didnt realise that you had to explain your symptoms to them. Anyways after me explaining and she didnt even offer a drs call back service, I am now sitting here in a & e, after 5 steroids and a nebulizer I'm waiting for an x ray. Thanks debbie the receptionist for making me suffer unnecessary.. all I wanted was a drs or nurse advice.. you completely shut me down. God forbid If someone who has unknown cancer which can be curable at early stages but might be too late due to people like you. I know there can be people coming in for petty reason.. if you have brought out this new rule for drs or nurses to call back patients than USE IT.

If I could give this place zero stars for service then I certainly would. Firstly they have adopted this thing where the receptionists asks quite loudly over the phone and in the waiting room obviously full of other patirents; what is wrong with you BEFORE they decide on whether you need to see a GP and if you tell them it is personal you then get "Oh is it a problem down below?" how dare they, who do they think they are? Then last week my sister was 5 minutes late for her appointment due to the bus being late. She explained this to a male receptionist named Lee who laughed at her and abruptly said "Well if you'd have left early enough you could have got another bus" My sister explained she had just been discharged from hospital that morning and this Lee just laughed in her face and said "Right, whatever" before walking away as she was trying to ask a question. My sister suffers from bad depression, anxiety & panic attacks as well as type 2 diabetes but each time she see's some health care worker for her annual diabetic check up, she understandably want's to know if all is okay? Each time this health care worker named Cheryl just goes "It's fine" to every single question my sister asks. Actually when your blood sugars are 13.6 when normally they are 5.4 that is NOT fine. When your blood pressure is 92 over 80 that is NOT fine. A terrible practice and disappointing service. This is just not good enough especially when the reception staff are dealing with unwell people! I appreciate that they may be extremely busy - Is this an excuse for such unpleasantness.

Excellent, I'd give 5 stars if it was easier to get through to reception in the mornings. I've always managed to get a face to face appointment when I have needed one and the Doctors there have looked after me better than the hospital consultants. Unfortunately, you have to be persistent and repeatedly call for a while to get through first thing if you want an appointment that day. Waiting room times are usually pretty good, if there are delays it is when they are clearly extremely busy. I've seen so many people be short tempered and rude to reception staff who are all professional, kind and patient. Let's give these guys a break.
