Amazingly AWFUL service. I completely understand that these people are pushed to the brink and overworked, but that’s knowledge everyone has and should be prepared to deal with if they decide to go into this profession. I went with a 39 fever I’d had for OVER FOUR DAYS at that point and was throwing up every few hours. I was told to go home, get some bed rest and drink fluids and take paracetamol. How is ANYONE supposed to do that when they’re constantly throwing up? Where’s the sense in that? My grandma could give me better medical advice than that. I ended up having to FLY BACK HOME to get the proper medical attention which just speaks for how pathetic the service is here. Do better or CLOSE DOWN and stop wasting peoples’ time and endangering their health.

Went in with my partner. Wait time was 45 minutes, seen after around an hour. Polite reception and thorough dr he gave us a slip for antibiotics which our dr refused 3 days ago! Considering swapping surgery’s! Well worth the wait.

Got in over 30 minutes before closing and they said no one was available to see me. The place was empty so what's the point in having opening hours when they wont see you. 4 hour a and e wait ahead

The service is extremely efficient, the staff are very friendly, and the building is clean. Tam and all the staff that I dealt with were helpful and informative. Thanks a lot!

Been registered here for around 7 months and everything has been a struggle. Getting medication that I’ve been on for over two years is like getting blood out of a stone. I can’t explain how bad this practice is. Have requested a phone call from the manager to discuss, but will be changing practices ASAP.

I came here this morning and had an excellent experience! The receptionists were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful! I was seen within 20 minutes and the nurse was fantastic! I came away happy and was home within the hour with my prescription!

Awful, they refused to give a medication, in emergency case and when is chronic treatment. As well, the doctor was disrespectful and rude.

Called up on a Wednesday for my 2 year old son who is a registered patient and was told there would be no gp appointments until the following Tuesday. Absolute joke

I went for an ear pains that became unbearable very quickly and after having read the reviews, I was quite scared. I went there on a sunday at 11h45 and saw a doctor at 2h45pm. Indeed, the wait was long but I did see someone who diagnosed me and prescribed antibiotics. The staff was polite and efficient, though obviously they could have been smiling more. I wouldn't complain too much since I did get the info and medication I needed, taking into account the volume of people and that it's free, I'm happy with the service provided.

I made the mistake of approaching this shower in November last year, when I was staying in the area last,I was told, despite having proof (repeat from a previous GP) that I didn't have Asthma (funny i've had it for 32 years) and I did not need and they would not prescribe the medication. I had to find another GP that has now, unfortunately closed. Fast forward to May 2019, silly me approached them again and this time they cannot even get my name and address correct, there is a prescription somewhere but the chemist refuse to release / deliver it until Practice "plus" (thats a joke!) put an address that actually exists!!!! The receptionist in Queens Road could't even speak english! I have been to see the idiots there times with ID but they still won't budge, I have complained to NHS England to seem if they can get these bunch of muppets moving. DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m giving two stars for how lovely both the receptionist and doctor were - otherwise I’m quite disappointed. I was told by 111 to visit as was in too much pain to travel further to my usual GP. I waited 2 and a 1/2 hours to be seen, which is fair, although other people in the waiting room were being sent in despite arriving after me and some seemed well enough to be in good spirits - even laughing and browsing their social media. I think there should be more attention paid to how much pain each customer is going through. I was diagnosed with gastritis, which I already suspected having. The reason I made the effort to get out to see someone (I am a student, I don’t know anyone with a car and should I really be shelling out for a cab when this is the only help I receive?) was to get some medication that would get to the source of the problem - ANTIBIOTICS, which weren’t subscribed to me at all. I was instead recommended to take some over-the-counter medication which is not helping whatsoever (probably because it’s only meant to relieve symptoms and not treat the root cause, along with me not being able to keep solids OR liquids down). It was a waste of time, and now I’ll have to phone 111 again, who were just as bad! I think NHS healthcare can be fantastic and have had many positive experiences in the past, but somewhere like Brighton is just too busy for health professionals to do the best they can, I suppose.

The practitioner who saw me twice now was literally guessing. At one point pulled out a little book trying to figure out what was wrong with me and i was actually more knowledgeable about the issue at hand via reading from the NHS website than the "doctor" was. Terrible experience.

Rude staff Receptionist didn't listen to me before dismissing me and didn't answer my questions An appointment was agreed to then changed when we spoke on the phone. All correspondence was about the new appointment time and when I get there at 8am on a Saturday, not only was the clinic closed because the doctor was late arriving but when they did open 30 minutes later, they said my 8am appointment was actually at 4pm and I'd have to wait. They saw me soon after but only because I questioned what had happened with the booking. Strongly advise against using this place.

Went into today , when to the lady behind desk if I could of been seen, she didn’t look up “we don’t do appointment.” ... right ? Then actually throw the clipboard at me . She old with purple glasses and blonde hair . She needs to be sacked. I was watching her and she was being rude to other people ignoring them . I said bye to her and thank you. Nothing . If you don’t sacked her, I feel for her . Someone one day will jump over that desk and punch her right in the face .

Awful experience. Never felt so judged by a medical professional before. They should remain neutral regarding sensitive and personal choices of the patient. They should not ask you loaded questions and ignore your current health issue because of something they so obviously don't agree with.

I've been here when I'm desperate or my GP isn't available. Be prepared for a near two hour wait for anything. The actual waiting isn't so bad, but you're not allowed to arrive, say you want an appointment, leave and then come back. You're told you *have* to stay for the entire 2 hour wait. This is madness and there is no need. If you don't come back for your appointment, tough luck. But forcing ill and sick people to sit indoors in close proximity seems like a backward way of thinking. The staff are agreeable enough, the doctors/nurses a lot nicer than you'd think they'd be. As a practical, functional thing, it's fine. Be prepared for a long wait and a sense of lack of empathy from the reception staff.

Really happy I came here, doctors didn't have an emergency appointment so this was my back up plan and they were an enormous help. I would just like to say that Katie the nurse was amazing and so friendly. The reception staff however were a tad loud and could have been a little friendlier.

Yesterday was my first trip to the centre. Here are my comments; Reception staff were very pleasant, Centre was clean and tidy Contrary to rumours the centre was not full of 'down and outs' but ordinary people like you and me. I had to wait about an hour before I saw a nurse The nurse was professional and very lovely. In fact my trip to the centre probably saved me a visit to A & E later that evening as I had a severe kidney infection Thank you Charlotte and the rest of the team for providing a valuable service.

I have used this as a drop in centre and yes, the wait times vary and sometimes it takes a while to see someone - but that's the nature of a drop in clinic. Plenty of seats, friendly staff, great nurses and doctors.

I'll never know why there are so many bad reviews about the Brighton Station Health Centre. I took my wife, Anneliese Foster, there today as she was suffering with a very painful, suspected, gum infection. The Health Centre was spotlessly clean and the two receptionists were extremely courteous and helpful. After a wait of twenty minutes my wife was shown into the surgery of a very experienced nurse and was prescribed a penicillin treatment. She was also given valuable advice. I cannot praise the Brighton Station Health Centre highly enough and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Do not recommend. Several negative experiences. Misdiagnosed and bad service/availability primarily due to a lack of staff. I was there for a urinary problem but noticed that the walk in clinic extends to sexual health. Would hate to think people coming in for sti checks were met with the same rude and condescending staff that I was. All that said, if you have to use the centre, the earlier you arrive for a walk in the quicker and more likely you are to be seen. In fact best to arrive ten minutes or so before walk-in opens. Considering the central location they need to invest in more staff and dispense those whose customer service is (as can be seen from the accompanying reviews) pretty appalling. Has the potential to be a good health centre if they make those changes. In the meantime, if you can avoid using the service, you should.

Having had a health issue that needed immediate antibiotics, I tried to get an appointment with my own GP but they were unable to offer anything for at least a week. Someone recommended I try this centre, so I phoned them after work, got through straight away and was told to come in as soon as possible. When I arrived I was warned the wait might be up to 2 hours, but in the end it was only an hour. The place is clean, with comfortable chairs and a TV news channel to watch while you're waiting. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. I was seen by an experienced and very kind professional who checked me over, gave me some advice and issued me the prescription I needed. I will definitely be using this service again.

This was the first time I have used this doctors and I used it as a walk in appointment, I arrived Sunday at 7:50 am and waited with at least 6 others for the door to open at 8am which it did very prompt. I was then asked to fill out a form , easily done, then I had to sit and wait, having read some reviews I was not expecting to be seen very quickly, but I have to say I was seen 4th within half an hour of stepping foot inside and had a very nice nurse who was very understanding and helpful and handed me a prescription and I was out by 9am. The while experience was absolutely great and I can only thank the people that give up there Sunday's to work and help people so thank you. I wouldn't hesitate to use you again in an emergency when my own doctors surgery is closed and A&E is not for such minor ailments, a good service

I strongly urge anyone on repeat prescriptions not to use this practice as it is boardering on negligent. Every time my prescriptions have been sent to the wrong place, have not been sent at all or I receive confirmation that they have when they haven't. I have spent the last 36 hours chasing a prescription, 8 phonecalls, 3 pharmacy visits and 1 practice visit later, I still do not have my medication and have run out, despite them flagging it as urgent. This is not the first time i have had to call 111 for an emergency prescription. The only redeeming factor is that you can get a same day phone consultation and the GPs have always called at the allocated time and even tried again when ive missed it.

Really bad experience! I waited for almost 4 hours to speak to the doctor for 5 minutes. I told the doctor about my illness and he pretty much only gave me advise and didn't do anything. No examination, I basically waited for almost 4 hours to have a 5 minute chat that I could have gotten in any chemist or healthy food shop. Poor service!

Ridiculous waiting hours, people who had waited 10 minutes being called up before myself and my boyfriend. Were unable to treat my boyfriend and gave little advice. NHS health centres need to FIX UP and find a way for patients to wait without impeding on their day of enjoying the sunshine for hours and hours.

I would rate this 0 if i could. It has been 8 months now since I started my medication, practice plus get my prescription wrong every time. I have got to the stage where I do not trust the information they give me when I speak on the phone. Bearing in mind these tablets are for my mental health it is an absolute joke.

Thank you very much for a great walk in appointment. I was in Brighton only for several days and got bad tonsillitis, but this convenient service helped me out a lot and I could explore the city. I waited only for 5 mins to be seen by a very nice and helpful nurse who gave me prescriptions and instructions. She even gave me a translated copy of all the instructions just in case:)

When I went in they told me it would be a 1 hour wait. I was in pain so I filled out the form and waited. 3 hours later still not seen by anyone. Asked the woman at reception how much longer the response was "How long is a piece of string?" Ignorant enough I thought. No other profession would get away with it. Next time I'll go to A&E before heading here. I did read the reviews beforehand and thought how bad could it be? Haha. I did try St Peters but they don't take walk ins until after 2 pm.

Few male doctors here extremely patronising and minimize your issues (especially female health). Take a million years to get sick notes and sometimes they lose your files and notes. Have had to repeat appointments for this reason. Wouldn't recommend.

Was referred to come here after speaking to 111, was waiting 2 hours to be seen, after finally being called in, was asked about my complaint and was questioned as to why I was here, after asking for any advise, was replied with a short “no”. Never been so angry coming out of a medical centre, whole experience was completely unprofessional. Do not come here unless your looking for a bad time!!!

I've been registered here for years, this place is the best, helpful and friendly staff and the doctors are great. It's easy to get a telephone call back from the doctors and prescriptions are sent to my local pharmacist.

I understand this is a drop-in clinic which inevitably means waiting a while, however I didn't wait three hours on a Friday afternoon to be treated so rudely. The woman I saw was dismissive, rude and generally just not nice to speak too. This was for the sexual health clinic, now personally I can't understand how they can advertise this service as being confidential and welcoming, and yet as a 20 year old I would never go back. It's no surprise many young people don't want to go to sexual health clinic and get checked if that's how they are made to feel.

Male nurse on duty misdiagnosed me... sorry but you cannot have only male nurse for female reproductive health. The next time I insisted on seeing an actual physician.... she gave me different & better medicine which means the problem has not returned so rapidly after the male nurse kept giving me the wrong stuff... How can a man ever fully understand and talk to women about periods, thrush etc they just don't know there is only so much they can teach them at school when you need an experienced women with the same plumbing as you! It's also embarrassing don't care how old fashioned I sound

What a pointless place. I attended the walk in, looking for someone to see my 5 year old who had developed a nasty cough, was wheezy, lethargic and running a temperature. I could have rung 111 but thought I would just make the 20 minute drive to the walk in as presumed it would be a quick in and out. The reception staff couldn't be any less engaged or enthused. I was told, at 7.05pm, that they were at capacity (with not a single person in the waiting room) and to just go away as they were closing at 8pm. Everytime I think I'm doing the right thing and saving the NHS a bit of time or man power they just slap you right back down.

My daughter had to visit here today - the reception and medical staff were incredibly rude - told her to go to A&E and that she had wasted her time visiting (she was trying not to waste NHS resources by following advice). They all need training in patient services - particularly the woman on reception today at 1115 - clearly in the wrong job. Would prefer to award no stars

Having been encouraged by one of the receptionists to register as a patient here, I was dismayed to find that they seem to discriminate against them! As a registered patient I am not allowed to join the appointment queue & have to book and come back at a later date; whereas unregistered patients can turn up & join the queue. Might as well go and register at another surgery, so that I can go back to Brighton Station Health Centre at my convenience - as a 'walk in' patient... Madness. I am somewhat perplexed as to why this process is in place: surely it is in the best interest of a practice to look after its regular, registered visitors who are usually quick & easy to deal with as a great deal of their visits are routine?

After reading the other reviews on the walk in centre, I was expecting to meet rude reception staff and be waiting for hours before being seen. When I arrived I was finding it difficult to breath and the reception were patient and helpful. I was seen after 20 minutes by a lovely Nurse called Darren. He informed me that when someone arrives who may well be very ill/have breathing difficulties etc they see them asap. The waiting area was clean and tidy and also had a TV screen. I can only praise this service and needed to share that I had a very good experience here. No way would I have been able to see my GP today and I did not want to add to the stress at A&E.

Consistently awful. Next to impossible to get an appointment if you're a registered patient and I have never seen the same doctor twice. The reception staff are rude and incredibly unhelpful. All in all avoid it like the plague... which incidentally probably still wouldn't get you an appointment.
