I needed a new battery as my car needed to be jumpstarted. I was quite desperate because I had a dental appointment that I could not miss. Went to Halford in Windmill Road as was the nearest to me. I was seen almost immediately, all the staff was kind and knowledgeable and on the ball. Mirza in no time sorted out what battery I needed, was not happy that the old bar which kept the battery in place did not fit the new one properly and made a new one to fixt it, we had an interesting conversation while he was doing all this. He then checked that all was in perfect working order and I made it to the dentist on time. Thank you to Mirza and to the rest of the staff at Halford I would definitely recommend you to my friends and will come back in the future. Loredana Akhtar

I don't normally do reviews unless I think a company is truly useless or great but it must be mentioned that after my visit to the halfords in windmill road Croydon they are definitely worth a mention (great). Well done as you were Swift in your actions, very helpful and definitely professional.

I purchased an item online, which I was told was in stock, and I received a text/email to say that my item was ready for collection.
Upon arriving at the store and waiting for 5 minutes in the click and collect line I was then directed to a line in the cycling department where I had to wait for 20 minutes only to be told that this Halfords branch did not have any stock.
Frustratingly I was offered a similar product that was not fit for purpose and was then directed to the Purley Way store which I had to find my way to collect the product that I had paid for. What should have taken me 15 minutes at best to collect a simple item ended up taking 2 hours of my time through waiting around in lines and sitting in traffic.
To add fuel to the fire, there were another four customers that appeared to have a similar issue. This sort of inefficiency to my mind undermines the companies attempts to be covid compliant as I have been unnecessarily exposed to other people during lockdown because their online sales system doesn't work and hasn't for a very long time according to their staff.

Went for a click and collect for a scooter ended up walking out with nothing after 20 mins of waiting. Not enough staff on site to serve you. Why not have all the click and collects downstairs so they are ready to go when customers come in? Why did I have to go upstairs and queue with people waiting to get their bikes repaired just because I reserved a scooter? Does not make sense!

Worst customer service! Got a text at 8:25am that order is ready to be collected. Got there to be told that it is a system generated message and they cannot serve me until 9am. Why send a text at 8:25 and ask to come and collect if you cannot fulfil it before 9? If it is system generated then fix the system! Sorry, but you just lost a customer.

Poorly organised, waiting time is really bad. Went for a bike collection and it was mostly fine, one small issue which they tried fixing on the spot but overall wait time was a lot. Spent over 2 hours

charged my extra for things that didnt need to be changed for example new chain new brakes. one time, i just needed my brakes to be loosened was a fairly easy job which required an Alan key to loosen the break pad and the member of staff said I needed completely new breaks, what an opportunist unprofessional person they had hired. never again!

Very helpful staff they assist you to choose right product for you car they will ask model and make and tell you product that you need if you still not sure they will bring for you they help you to install car lights they will charge you but you job will be done in few mins.

Disorganised, customer care is poor, under staffed. False promises given, false information provided. It really has gone down hill. Had to phone up more than 10 times to collect my bike. Each time speaking to different people telling me different things. I will differently look elsewhere for the next bike I have to buy

Due to the lack of organisation a customer is served every 25 minutes. I’ve been watching the sales assistant deal with the same customer for over 30 minutes, whilst there is a cue of 20 plus people. There has to be a better way or you may as well close.

Fantastic, took my bike for minor repairs and yesterday and collected it today, time in the cue was a bit long but I can and its understandable with the current crisis but it unbelievable that people taking their bikes for really simple things that they can do at home, happy that i am my two wheels again

Very clean establishment but then if you keep customer engagement down to a bare minimum I suppose the place wont get dirty !!. Get a grip Halfords, if supermarkets can bring the customers in safely I'm sure you can.

Went for safety bike accessories but unlike luxury/optional add-ons they don't stock bells. Unless you want kiddie ones with fairy princesses, not a good look with your adult 12 speed shimanos and Agip/firestone lycra clothes.

Place is overtaxed and understaffed. Needs at least one more staff member in to run efficiently. At the moment good luck getting through on the phone. Wasted many hours going to and from halfords. Not the fault of the ground level staff. It's a managerial oversight.
