I am not a fan of email receipts, it just means you get bombarded with mail that you don’t need. However I was persuaded to do it by the promise of a free MOT! That sounded worthwhile so I did it, only to find out that it was a free reminder service to get an MOT. Very poor service. I found what I wanted and got it easily, but the whole experience was ruined by the false promise of a free test. You should train your staff better, I could go back and ask for my free test but frankly can’t be bothered to argue with them.

Avoid for bike repairs. I booked in for 32-point safety check today at 2:30. I arrived early but the bike service station was overwhelmed with customers picking up new bikes. While waiting, one customer was having their handle bars straightened before taking their new bike away, but the customer wasn't happy that the mudguard was rubbing on the frame. The HALFORDS guy gave some made up excuse about how it's supposed to be like that. I had to step in; they had tightened up the stem with the front forks and wheel (and e-motor) facing backwards! I pointed it out, much to the delight of the customer, but I obviously walked out before they could get anywhere near my bike. Imagine if they had left with the bike like that? With the safety implications of a backwards wheel, but also the e-motor trying to pull backwards while the customer pedalled forwards. It could have ended horribly. The store is a mess, the staff are clueless. Additionally, if you leave your bike there, it might get stolen. They had a multiple thousand pound electric BOARDMAN customer bike on the shop floor chained down to..... a display stand that weights little less than a damp breeze... They might as well have chained it down to a piece of paper.

Just popped in here for essential winter maintenance bits for the bicycle. Very quiet so no need to socially distance from anyone. Staff on hand for help but I knew what I wanted. The lady at the till was very nice, friendly and helpful with redeeming a voucher code.

I booked to have a battery fitted at Halfords, and asked while I was there if I could look at car stereos too. Vinmohal, the employee who served me, was able to fit a stereo straight away, and was helpful, polite, efficient and even funny. The fitting process was quick and the stereo and battery were very competently installed. I really couldn't have hoped for a better retail experience, and will get more parts fitted at Halfords in future.

Recently purchased a bike from here and it was the worst experience I've ever had. They had sold my brand new bike to someone else, even though a week before I had ordered it and was told they would contact me when it was in, that never happened. They then tried to give me the bike off show without telling, and said I'd have to wait another week if I didn't take this one. I took it because I didn't want the same issue again but the attitude from the staff was that it was all my fault. They were rude and wouldn't let me speak to the manager. I managed to get some money back and forced them into giving me the care package as I know at some point there will be issues with this bike and I don't want the cost of fixing it. The checks they did on my bike weren’t great either and my boyfriend had to look over everything they did before I took it out to make sure it was safe. They didn’t care for covid rules either, I asked the to clean the bike customers had touched and they didn’t care. Not only did I have an issue but so did another gentleman in the queue next to me so be very careful getting a bike from Halfords.

Placed my order and paid for it on Friday 05/03/2021. Was told someone will contact me on Tuesday 09/03/2021 to come and collect, no one called , went to the store on Wednesday 10/03/2021 waited for 40 minutes to be served although I was the first in the queue, not even acknowledged or greeted by the staff. Other customers in the queue became angry because of the very slow service. Finally collected my order without apology for the very long wait for only a collection. Very bad service and obviously bad management

1 star because zero isn't an option. Rookie mistake (I know) buying a bike from Halfords. Ordered AND PAID for a bike for my daughter's birthday from here (because it was in stock)....Here's what happened. 1. They call me and tell me it's not in stock...OK....but will be delivered from their warehouse stock within seven days. OK I can live with that. 2. I wait, get another text...ITEM IS IN STOCK... great!! 3. I call a few days later and check. Yes, the bike is here. 4. I drive 30 minutes through London traffic to pick up bike. 5. Not only is there no bike, there are no bikes in the whole of their system and they have no idea when they might get one. Although the staff were very adept at looking gormless and would receive a five star review in that department. Not surprisingly I am not a happy bunny. Avoid.

I purchased my wipers and was very happy with the product. I requested a fitting and the older Asian gentleman said it was £5. I questioned him and said that it clearly states £4 and he made up an excuse saying head office had called and told him that fittings were now £5. I think he was lying. If you are trying to deceive customers for £1 I will take my custom elsewhere. However I will be back to look at your products and order them online.

dreadful. purchased a motorcycle battery. when i got it home it was incomplete- no acid- hence didnt work and Halfords won't issue refund. wish i'd just got it off amazon hi Lisa i cant reply underneath your reply. the website you gave doesnt actually go anywhere that will help. ive spent about 4 hours trying to sort this out. please just give me a refund and then come and pick the battery up- if you want it? it's pretty useless as incomplete

Had an appointment to collect two new bicycles. When we arrived nothing was ready. We ended up waiting 1hr 45 mins for them to unbox and prep the bikes. Why bother specifying a pickup time if you can't have things ready?? Nice enough lads working there, but they don't have an ounce of organisation between them. No clearly defined workshop area (continually tripping up over each other as they passed back and forth), no-one knew who was being served and who was queueing, lots of people coming back to adjust bikes that weren't properly set up. Painful to watch! They didn't even get my little girl to sit on the bike to get the seat height right for her.

I had a dashcam fitted to my new Volvo. Martyn the store manager did the fitting. There were problems which in the end was due to a faulty dashcam. However Martyn stayed 1 hour after his shift finished, just to make sure I got what I wanted. He went over and above anybody could expect. This man deserves to be an area manager. Fantastic attitude and service.

Usually good with their car-related products and services but I would recommend steering clear of their bike department. I dropped my recently-purchased second-hand bike off for their bike health check service, which appears just to have been a cursory glance at the bike. They recommended I replace the chain, which they performed well, but apparently the brakes weren't checked during the bike health check. I was informed, only as I collected the bike following the ensuing minor repair, that my hydraulic brakes had seized and needed replacing, but they hadn't bothered to inform me (or didn't bother checking) when the initial check was performed. This is very frustrating. I was also concerned by the lax attitude of some staff members to COVID safety, one of whom approached me originally with his mask on his chin, & stood within half a metre of me. If you are looking for personable, personal and professional service, my advice is to shop with local businesses.

Your employees are very rude and quick to get rid of us customers. This was experienced last summer but I must review it even if a bit late. One such Alfie was the employee that caused us hassle. We tried to find a new bike and he called us poor and that we should choose the higher end models.
