I'm going to buck the trend a little, and say this place actually helped me a lot. I came back a 2nd time before buying (both times early evening), as I really didn't know which bike to buy (I haven't ridden for 20 years!), and they talked me through the pros and cons of the different types, prices, features, etc. I didn't feel hurried or pushed towards higher priced items, but there weren't many other customers around. Their prices were also pretty reasonable, and I got my spec for £200 less than I would have at Evans. Wayne and Dan particularly helpful. Thanks.

Staff here really do not care about customer service. I purchased a bike less then 3 weeks ago and then the whole handle bar lifted off as I lifted my bike into my house! This was quite shocking bearing in mind that the bike was built in store and signed off as safe. I returned the bike to the store and was ignored for about 10 mins before a member of staff asked me if I needed any help, and one of the guys behind the till had the audicity to mutter under his breath "ohh someone's been playing with it" without me even explaining what happened!?! Completely uncalled for... I will be avoided this Halfords at all cost.

Been very pleasantly surprised by my two most recent visits here. Having become inured to the level of disinterest and shrug-it-off idiocy of most large store staff, I was bowled over to find that on both of two recent visits (one around mid May, the other on 3rd July 2019) I was met with competent, helpful individuals who seemed to both know their trade and be eager to satisfy. A nice feature is that staff seem to have license to make decisions and seem to be armed with the means to actively help customers, rather than being mere check-out clerks who are required to call their manager for every customer enquiry. One engineer, Anthony, went out of his way to make sure my car was fully checked over and ready to go. Another store server, whose name I didn't get, was able to advise on all the products in the audio section and had a lovely helpful manner, remembered me from an earlier phonecall and was full of useful advice. May sound a bit strange, but compared to what I've come to expect from large store experiences such as a recent dismal encounter with Homebase, it was a positively delightful experience!

My mother and I went to get her car stereo fixed a little over two weeks ago, we were met with great hospitality by the manager, Connor, though we hadn't booked an appointment to get the stereo installed that day. Connor himself was very friendly and warm and the service was very swift and professional.

I took my bike in for a repair and after five days I had to call them only for them to tell me that my bike actually was ready for collection. Upon arriving there to collect my ‘repaired’ bike I had to endure a 30min long queue only to find out that my bike hadn’t actually been repaired and that there was ‘nothing’ that they could do about it. Their customer service was appalling.

I was very impressed with the service at Halfords and in particular, with expertise and friendliness of the fitter i believe called Anthony. I got a sony touch screen car radio fitted and i could see it was tricky to fit but it was no trouble for him and i now have a great piece of kit fitted with DAB radio, sat nav from my phone and superb linkage to my iphone.

This has to be the worst Halfords store in the country. Do not take your car to have a bulb changed or wipers replaced as they have not got a clue. They are using students who are poorly trained and advised to do ma man's job. I visited the store recently to have some bulbs changed and wipers replaced. What a disappointment. They were clueless and could have damaged the car. Why are Halfords using untrained people to do work on cars that need professional people especially with today's modern cars. If you take your car there be prepared for damage. They are a joke.

Stock is quite good but absolutely appalling customer service. I had to remind the woman on the front till to call someone repeatedly who was supposed to "help" me (he still never turned up after 15 minutes). The manager wasn't available to talk to you in order to complain. Only one decent helpful person apparently working there (the mechanic/fitter) and one person in the bike's section. However the front staff give a really poor impression of customer service with no clue whatsoever of what even adequate customer service is and the older woman on the front desk especially seems to be in a dream world and couldn't care less if you get served of not.

Anthony is a legend, he fitted my car stereo correctly where 2 other garages failed and I have been left with a flat battery but Anthony was more clued up than a game of cludo sorted it out within a hour. Great guy give that man a pay rise credit to Halford, Halford whetstone on the other hand is as helpful as a ashtray on a motorcycle.

Terrible staff!!! Today we went to buy a bike for our son, we liked two models, but one of them was locked, so we wanted the guy to open it and my son to try it. However, the guy there was soooo high he could barely talk! He was pretending doing something, but actually he was just chatting with a customer and doing nothing. We were waiting for ages for someone to come and help us and at the end when we asked what's going on another guy, passing through was so rude, he just said "You should wait for him (the talking guy) to finish with this customer". JUST RIDICULOUS!!! Not going there anymore! I am wondering who is hiring these people over there!!!

Worst customer service ever. Booked an appointment for dashcam fitting for 11am they started at 12.15. I waited until 3pm. They don't have enough staff to deal with customers. Tbey had to give 2 refunds due to delay while I was waiting as others gave up and decided to leave.

Atrocious! Went in on a late Friday afternoon with my son to get advice and buy a bike. Empty store, at least 4 staff members milling around, nobody could be bothered to come over even when I asked for help and was told someone would be with me soon. No sign of the manager either. Left after 15 minutes and bought it from Smyths next door. Don't bother coming here if you actually need to talk to a functioning human.

Really bad place. The staff is rude and very unhelpful. We bought a light bulb and wanted it replaced. The guy who was meant to fit it for us had no clue what to do so eventually we had to do it ourselves. We were then charged for the fitting service anyway and when challenged they cancelled light bulb charge which was cheaper than fitting charge. I didn't even bother to go back to challenge it - not worth waiting another half hour in the queue. On another occasion we went there to buy a bike - after not much of a help from them we chose one only to be told it takes 4 days to be assembled...you can imagine what happened next - we took our business elsewhere. No more visits from us...

Terrible service, not enough staff, I gave a bike to fix the brakes they asked me 24 hours and when I get there to pick up the bike after more then 24 hours they didn't fix anything and I needed to wait one more hour!
