CEX, I didn't visit here this time, Google seems to take absolutely flying deductive leaps at time, I wasn't even on the same side of the road in this instance and yet I haven't been asked to review WH Smith's that I was in, or the card shop I was in or the mobile phone shop I stood in front of.
Seems a little random I know but CEX, I have visited in the past and is a really great place to buy and sell computer games, it gave us an opportunity to try out different games without paying through the nose so everyone wins.

Normally very good, I use them often and mainly for selling. Have sold phones, consoles, DVDs and accessories and normally very good. However I went in with a smart watch and the watch was a week old barely used they marked it a B grade. I queried this and they said there was a small mark on the watch so I looked and brushed off the dust so no more mark. Then he said the box has a small mark on it. It has all stuff that comes in the box unopened and the watch was completely mint and they downgrade the price for a less than half a cm mark on the box, if there was a mark on the watch or the box was in bad shape I would understand.
Took it to Gumtree the same day for more than the A price and sold it the day after so I will keep using them for the more niche items to sell but for more mainstream items I will use Gumtree from now on I think.

Review changed after one staff member dropped my grade A smart phone then they stated it was a grade C she stated she never dropped it to protect herself yet it was caught by 5 customers. They Also stated 300 pounds before testing then suddenly it was 140 apparently staff was new and gave the the wrong price. Not really good enough of you expect that price and you don't even get half it. Also took 1 hour to book my DEVICES in then another hour for the games
One of the better cex stores I use but can be better have a few things to change before it was a 5 star review

Sad to say i have stopped using CeX simply because of the prices and the fact that they can't show you things working all the time. Some items are composite and not all the shops i have visited are not able to show items like retro gaming consoles working, other than to show you the light comes on. Not really good enough guys. I have also purchased computer equipment in the past year of two, which has turned out to be nothing short of rubbish, and they don't really like giving refunds preferring to give a credit slip instead. Way way over priced for what they are and what they have, not for me any more.

Popped in for Xbox One games. Got a small selection (but a wider selection of loads of other legacy PlayStation games. Looks like a good place to buy second hand consoles and great condition mobile phones. It's quite sized good emporium and the staff seem to know their inventory pretty well.

Generally the best store for for trade in prices, but their second hand sale prices are awfully high.
I always check the stock but have yet to find something I wanted cheaper than elsewhere on the high street.
You'd be better off visiting Game just down the road or Amazon even if just for the higher quality of their second hand products.

Original 4* review:
Great for cheap games and consoles, not so great to sell stuff at, check eBay and you'll likely get double the money for 15 mins of effort.
Edit: went in with an old iPad which has been sealed in an Otterbox case it's whole life and was spotless (they even told me this) when I went back to get my money after they graded it I was told it was only B grade and not A due to the charge cable being slightly grubby, how they expect to ever get A grade on a device from 2012 with standards that high I don't understand.
I also brought a Samsung Galaxy S2 as I was surprised to learn they even buy them, I was told it was missing the moisture indicator so they couldn't take it. The phone has never been repaired so it wouldn't have gone anywhere, they wouldn't listen and seemed to be following the rules by wrote. I went and looked on the internet to discover that the S2 doesn't actually have a water indicator, at least not where the staff explained it would be.

Staff are rude and have a bad attitude. Took three phones in there to trade in, there was no issue with them until we went back an hour later, suddenly there was issues with all of them. One had a 'scratch on the camera lens' but there was no scratch and the man who served me even agreed with me, although he did go on to make sarcastic comments. The other two phones they couldn't test as they didn't have the right SIM's but they advertise them on the website to trade in and with the same network. The man who served me wouldn't provide eye contact at all instead he kept looking away and would ignore me to start speaking to the other lady who was hiding round the corner. When I continued to ask questions he tried to avoid talking about the 'issues' until the lady round the corner began shouting comments to me regarding the phones but she couldn't bothered to walk round to speak face to face with me.
Every single time I go into the shop there seems to be an issue all of which has been lies to avoid paying out, perhaps there is some 'rule' where staff have to avoid making trade in's on higher value items.
I believe that the staff are not qualified to test these items as in there own words 'We only provide front of house service, we don't specialise in testing the items'

Got a fair price for what I was selling. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Tested it in 10 minutes and promptly gave me my wonga. 5/5 would recommend. One thing though, music is a little loud.

Manager needs to learn about customer service, you don't sell something that's broken and if you do then don't make the customer pay a £10 to sort it out . I'm probably about £30 down now with parking petrol absolute joke .

Quite a small shop. Selection is okay, but prices aren't that competitive and you can usually find stuff cheaper online. Always playing angry music. I enjoy browsing here but rarely feel tempted to buy anything.

Sold me a game that didn’t work, if I personally saw the state of it and I worked there. I wouldn’t have accepted it. Also did not think to check the game before I got home. I live half hour away. Slim girl short hair clearly didn’t know what was going on as her colleague asked her for help to look for dvds and games I was buying but she still continued to sticker about 5 dvds because it definitely needed doing before customers requests. Get a new staff member in before she has a meltdown

Appertly it has been dropped.

i purchased a i phone 5C for my daughter 18 months ago from my local store. last week it developed a fault with the battery . on taking it back to the store i was told that they would need passwords and i cloud removing.as the phone would not power on this was impossible . we were told that there was nothing that could be done without this not even a refund to the original value . on asking if this would be the same if we took it to another repairer we were told it would be. this was a lie as it was successfully repaired at another store without the need for any passwords or i cloud needing to be removed .

Mixed reviews on this new outlet. The first item I purchased didn't work and when I took it back the next day, it transpired that it hadn't been tested since they bought it - some items aren't as they come from other outlets sometimes. I recommend checking first that the item has been tested so you don't waste a journey like I did. Second one of the staff there spent the whole time I was talking with the (very helpful) Sales Assistant, sticking labels on his back and laughing. I pointed out that this was extremely annoying (and must have been for the Sales guy) but she continued - clearly thinking it was funny. Completely unprofessional and needs sorting. I want to upgrade my phone but am having second thoughts about doing it here after that. Apart from that the idea, the shop and everything else is a brilliant one and I am sure they will be very popular - especially as opening up just before Christmas.
