I have been using this centre for years and they have been always very good in terms of customer service for very reasonable prices. Work is always done on time and well. I am girl and don't know too much about mechanics and find them willing to explain as far as I care to ask them. However, I do need to prompt them on whether or what type of service is needed and what type... otherwise they only do the MOT.

I booked a hybrid service + MOT for my car and when I took the car to the service centre, the technician said he has to check whether they can do an MOT on my car because of the MOT class. My car Reg was entered at the time of the booking and they should have checked it then and not when I have cleared all my schedule to get the test done. However after checking the system they said they can do it. So I left the car and took a taxi to get back home.
After a few hours they called me and said that thr MOT was a pass but they cannot perform the hybrid service because there's no hybrid trained technician available! They said that they didn't realize that it was a hybrid car! Are you kidding me? I have booked a "Hybrid Service" and that's not clear enough? I had to go and collect the car as there was no other choice.
They asked me to bring the car again on Thursday at 9.30am for the hybrid service and was told that it will take 2hrs. I called them at 1.30pm (3 hours later) as I needed the car to run some errands and was told that it will be another 1.5hrs before the car is ready. Halfords Guildford has wasted 2 days of this week because of their poor customer service.

Needed to cancel a week before after car was scrapped, tried numerous times to get through to the Guildford branch bit it just kept ringing. No central number to ring and no way to cancel your booking online. Luckily I used my blue light card so didn't lose much money bit what a waste for me and what a waste of time for Halfords that could have filled the space had the phone been answered or if I had been able to leave a message or cancel online.

Staff seem friendly, and helpful. However, prices seem exorbitant. I was quoted £86.74 just to change a fuel filter. I could purchase a fuel filter for £10 - 15 and do it myself in half an hour or less.

Very happy with the service I received. I waited whilst the car was serviced and MOT. There was no "extra" work created and in fact I was advised that some things could wait until next year, even though as a non expert, I thought replacement was necessary. Would use again on that basis and can recommend on that basis....

Took my car here for an MOT for it to be failed with a huge list of advisories and pitched £81 for a 'dangerous' issue to be fixed.
Went to another garage and was told some of the advisories were from pure incompitance and the problem that needed to be fixed? Wasn't as much of an issue as it was sold to me as and the part was under a tenner and it's a five minute fix.

I had two tyres replaced. When I left there was an under pressure tyre warning. I was told the gauge would sort itself out, and the tyres are always inflated to the site plate level. I checked the pressure at home, with my Halfords digital inflator, and the tyres were very under inflated. I called the centre and they told me they had a problem with their compressor. I did query how this affected their tyre pressure gauge. If I did not have the gauge I would have been driving around with under inflated tyres which cannot be good.

Avoid like the plague. Complete fictitious MOT half the items not required, still awaiting price 28 days later for works that they deemed necessary, most of which were not required. The next garage completed all works and new MOT in 1 day, at under half the price quoted for some of the repairs, they are awaiting parts quote from third parties to quote for everything.

Don't go there, this place can not be trusted. My car was making really bad noise, so I took it to check and they couldn't find anything. The problem appeared to be wheel bearing, such a simple thing to find,but I believe they didn't even bothered looking because stupid me, mentioned that my catalytic converter was replaced, so they just came up with this stupid thing that emissions needs to build up so it will make noise. Now, as was driving so long with this problem, that wheel bearing was so stuck inside took long time and more effort to replace it. I had service done here, god knows what they actually done, and will never find out, they even asked what extra I paid for, and it was oil, which I assume wasn't replaced if they asked what I paid for?

They took my car yesterday for a clutch replacement, when I booked it in on the phone i was told it'd be ready same day, having explained I am going on holiday this weekend so needed it done urgently. When i dropped it off they told me it might be two days. I said this wasn't good enough but by then I had no choice. I am now on day two, have just called for an update but they are saying it won't be ready today despite having promised me yesterday that it would be. They are basically holding my car hostage, I get the impression they are just not doing it because it's too big a job and they are too busy. (They knew when I booked it in what the problem was so this is no excuse.) AVOID.

Booked and paid for an Aircon inspection. Was told this would be a complete inspection and test of the Aircon system. Dropped keys off and a couple of hours later received a call saying the inspection was completed and everything tested fine.
Was asked I wanted a regas and I said yes.
Dropped back to pick up my car and low and behold the Aircon wasn't working. Strange how it passed the inspection and test, and once they got an extra £40 out of me, proceed to tell me there was a fault........on the system that they said was working.
Was told it needed a new pressure sensor and they would call me.......that was the last I heard over a week a go.
Won't use this bunch again and would not recommend them either

Had MOT and service done here last year and thought explanations and service was good. They always go through the costs with you in detail before you agree to the work. But this year when they called it was very rushed and not so well explained - also don't let them do your tyres they really do charge over the odds for them, the guy explained to me they don't really sell many tyres so they can't get good deals on them like other places that buy in bulk. But the prices and the service itself were good, so I guess if you know your cars a bit better it might be a slightly better experience as you don't need so much to be explained.

AVOID. Utterly atrocious service, not worth the hassle. Been cancelled on twice in a week for different reasons, the first time I had to turn up and then was told it was cancelled. They rearranged for two days later and have had a call on the morning, 2 hrs before cancelling. This is also the second year, last year we had the same problems and so they gave us a free mot voucher and surprise surprise we're having the same problems again. AVOID. Yes they are competitively priced, but for the time and hassle and petrol there is no point even trying.

Bad place to go for an MOT. Booked a service+MOT and instead of doing the service first and letting us know the things to fix, they did the MOT and failed it to trap me in. Then quoted extortionate prices for brakes and discs. Not impressed with the overall experience.
