I've used this firm dating back to the 1980s, when they acted for me against the Met Police (won.) More recently, I used them for an employment situation (won) and they also handled my divorce. Again, won. I've just been reminded of these gains when recommending them to someone who needs a good lawyer, and I felt secure suggesting them because I've not had anything other than positive outcomes from them over past 30 years. On the one occasion I went off-script (!) used a lawyer that someone else recommended because he was Black and so am I and I thought he might understand my predicament, the advice was so bizarre and to my shame and regret I went with it/him and of course it ended badly. Very badly. I still get angry with myself thinking of it years later. Just my experience!

They say 'fight for what's right, but after being driven to feeling suicidal by failure to act on my behalf without putting money on their account when it was covered by legal aid, and being told 'we're a business', it's clear it's more 'fight if you give us money'. While I agree you need to be paid for work outside of what is covered by legal aid, expecting vulnerable clients to give you money without knowledge of the need for it if disclosures prove there is little cause, then you are not acting in the client's best interest, and were using this as leverage.
And please do not come back with your automated response, I've seen these, and I even referenced one of these reviews to you, and which I'm sure they too suffered similar experiences. Solicitors care only about the cash, not the cause. Typical ambulance chasing law firm in my view.

In my opinion and from personal experience, they have questionable ethics, and are also very unresponsive and difficult to deal with. In my opinion, they don't put the customer's interests first and even though they have some very experienced solicitors, as a collective team they don't seem to care for customers. I've concluded the above based on my interactions with them over the past few days.
I would strongly advise against them.

Maxine was amazing from minute 1, completely understood my side and how I saw the situation. Was able to help me see the best way to tackle the issue.
Always responsive, always available via email and for the first time, it actually felt like she wanted to help me, not like it was just her job.
Laura, who Maxine sent to help me on the day, again was very lovely and clear in her thoughts on the issue. Didn’t leave me with any doubt or uncertainty.
Both amazing and can’t thank them enough, justice serviced with their help!

Absolutely terrible. I was recommended by a friend, but I had bad experience with them. specially my case worker Retha Khan and Sioned Roberts. both of them are unprofessional and incompetent. they acted as mediators unfit for their job. very poor quality.

I got into a big housing problem due to the virus and I got Jack Crown as my solicitor. He did absolutely everything and beyond to help me.
He is not just an excellent solicitor but an extraordinary man as well. His knowledge, professionalism, politeness, kindness, compassion is exceptional! I am a suspicious person and not really trust anybody, however, I would trust him with anything! If you want the best to represent you that’s certainly him. I know the firm reputation is excellent but this firm is really lucky to have such an excellent man working for them!

Appalled with the service, the lady that I spoke to was huffing and puffing when I was trying to explain my situation and spoke to me as if I was a child, she then said she couldn’t stay on the phone as she had somebody waiting. Why take my call then and ask me to explain. Infact why is someone like that employed in such a service? She took my details and said she would get back to me, it’s been a week, still nothing. Needless to say I have found a better solicitors who are professional.

My partner was severely affected by a police caution he received. We instructed Edward Jones who claimed a positive outcome but after almost 2 years of waiting the caution was not removed. It was hard to communicate with Ed as he became evasive and non-responsive. Very disappointed.

Asked for courtesy & respect & they then told me that they wouldn't act for me? Simply because I was unhappy that they wasn't calling back
They think not calling back one week after the other is immediately? Call on Monday & to call back the following week?
Then because you chasing them up then say we cant work together?
Now if I was late with your payment wouldn't you want that immediately or you then wouldn't act on my behalf.

Very poor experience with this firm. I had an initial discussion with a solicitor regarding my circumstances and was advised to make contact with him in due course if I wished to instruct him to act on my behalf. I e-mailed at a later date to enquire if this would be possible however I did not receive a reply to this or any communication to confirm that they would not be willing to do so. I assume they were not interested in taking my case on despite suggesting the opposite on initial consultation. I understand that a firm is not under any obligation to represent someone however I would have expected the basic courtesy of a reply. I think my experience reflects that of a number of others who have left reviews commenting on poor communication or the lack thereof. At what was a very stressful and difficult time you can do without complete indifference as was shown to me. No doubt I will now get a reply from Customer Services with some Covid 19 excuse or more likely nothing at all to avoid having to provide an explanation for this poor service.
Based on this I would not recommend their services.

Be carefull from one student who act like a big solicitor his actually peralegel name ovaiz panwala. Very rude & tottaly unprofessional make your total things delay. Don't responce email or call. Very rude behaviour. Complaint to his maneger dont think they will do something as they all are same. Guys if you have bed experience with them plz report this to law society. There google review proof how unprofessional Farm it is. Look at the review under 3 star.

I would give 0 stars if I could. My solicitor Mr. Edward Jones failed to attend my first hearing and made everything very difficult. The only communication with him was by emails to him and his help/gf Lily Ngo. They forgot to mention on their emails that Mr Jones is on annual leave on the day of my hearing so HE IS NOT COMING for the hearing. He emailed me this just 15 mins before the hearing starts. I had different solicitor from hja that came 30mins later but by then I was really upset and frustrated.
Please don't trust the good reviews, they are100% fake.
The people that work there are scammers! Edward Jones is not even qualified as solisitor. Don't trust anything they are saying like "I have over 16 years of experiance..." , all of them should be filling the shelves in Asda

Incompetent. Had to chase them for a callback that I never received, then they demanded £1000+VAT just to talk to me. Avoid like the plague.

This is not standard practice. I have used many solicitors in the past, and it is definitely not standard practice. Why would I pay over £1000 just to find out they can’t help at all? Every other solicitor works like this: you give them an initial rundown of what happened and what you’d like, someone gets back to you saying if they can help or not, THEN you decide if you want to employ them. Who would pay £1000+VAT just to be told “We can’t help you”. Ridiculous. It may be standard practice for you to treat potential customers like this, but it definitely is not for every other solicitors I (or anyone I know) have ever dealt with.

Housing case.If you have much money they are good with you or Legal Aid ! Poor communication and care to the clients, asked initially a professional cost and then changed in an estimated 5 times more. I have to drop the case.Emails and phone calls cost as much a professional consultation, careful ! Don't talk over.This group give work to different solicitors and you have no choice if you don't know them. B. A. Was thinking about her life event instead of my case. Shame.

I have recently instructed Hodge Jones Allen in a case where I was wrongly accused of a crime. Before I had even entered Stratford Magistrates Court, my lovely solicitor, Bianca had organized for the case to be thrown out of court.
I also recommend the housing department.
I nearly lost my flat a couple of years back but with the help of my solicitor and barrister, we practically threw the opposition actually out of the court room.
The good Judge, my barrister and I were in stitches!!

I have been trying to get a hold of them for 2 weeks. I have a text message from them 3 days ago asking for availability which I replied right away. I called on the number of the person that messaged me and it prompts to the voice mail of a different person. Sounds like a very dodgy company, lots of aggressive PR on social media but that is it. I wonder how they treat their clients. I would not recommend this law firm by no means and give them zero stars if I could.
