Was disappointed today to see one of your staff on a cigarette break (just round the corner on Theberton Street around 11.30 this morning) chuck his cigarette on the ground while standing right next to a bin and walk back inside. Just left it smoldering on the ground! Would be great if those renting premises on our high street showed some respect for the local residents.

As tenants, we dealt with Sarah Sarpong of Hamptons International as the property manager for our Islington, London rental property. Sarah was extremely responsive and thorough - exactly what you need when you're renting a property. She helped us out with any issues we faced to ensure a smooth tenancy in the property. When the time came to leave the property Sarah as extremely clear and helpful and acted as a great intermediary with the landlord to ensure the exit process was successful for all parties involved.

Sarah Sarpong was my property manager while letting through Hamptons International. Throughout the period she was diligent, honest, and willing to go the extra mile to help us work through a tricky situation with our landlord. I thought she handled the matter extremely professionally and given the public health issues offered options to help, unfortunately not all we could proceed with, but putting forward the options was greatly appreciated. I had just relocated from Australia when I was first introduced to their team and the help and support I got made my transition a lot easier. I've always been able to pick up the phone at any point and the response time hasn't always been great. Highly recommend these guys.

Daryl Smith in particular was very helpful and very clear on the process from the offer stage through to our move in day and was very responsive throughout. The whole experience was stress free... Hamptons have been excellent agents to manage our property. We are living abroad and wanted to take all the hassle out of renting out our property while making an income and Hamptons have done exactly this. In particular the manager of our property went above and beyond when we were having very complex plumbing/hot water difficulties with our property, for example negotiating us a refund from plumbers who had done a poor job and doing a great job communicating with our tenants. This gave us great peace of mind. We feel confident we are up to date and that the care of our property is in good hands.

Drove 45 mins to view a letting on a Saturday. When I arrived I had forgotten the door number and so called the office to request the number. The individual I spoke to said that they worked in Sales so might not be able to help but would look anyway. She confirmed that the negotiator was on the way to the property to show me around. When the negotiator didn't arrive, 20 mins beyond the agreed time I called the office again. I spoke to a different person this time who apologised and said they would make a phone call. I was called back 2 minutes later to inform me that the property had gone under offer the day before and the agent had sent me an email. I was shocked that something so basic as a follow up phone call wasn't completed by the agent to double check that I had understood the viewing was cancelled. The complete lack of care for prospective clients is shocking. The lack of interest from the agents in the office and lack of knowledge displayed was at an amateur level. I hope not to have to deal with Hamptons again.

Excellent friendly service from the Islington lettings department, Sophie, George and Jimmy in particular. They efficiently found good tenants from a sensible number of prospective clients. They did not engage in the practice (which one large agency does) of over-showing. I liked their enthusiastic and straightforward approach. I shall definitely use them again.

Just moved into a flat managed by Hamptons International. The experience has been very smooth, initial repairs have been handled quickly, and communication has been clear and reasonable. Only issues with this process were with the background check company for the flat, though I don't think this is Hamptons fault, so definitely not docking any stars for Hamptons.

Absolute legends - we just bought & sold through Hamptons and were utterly impressed from start to finish. We tried to sell through a different agent at first, but after 4 months of no interest we switched to Hamptons and they found our buyer within a week. Amazing. Having both the sale and purchase going through Hamptons made life so much easier and we're convinced the process was far quicker as a result. We were working with Grant, Tara and Max and all three were very professional and efficient. Never thought I'd recommend an estate agent... but these guys really deserve it.

Shockingly poor and disinterested service for a letting. I had to point out the place I wanted on their website, having being told they had nothing suitable. I was then left with no information regarding the move in for weeks. When I chased for it no return call was given. I had to chase again. Then there were issues on the day of the move and despite being promised a call I was left for hours with no information. I had to go to their office and even then it took some to time for the correct individual to take ownership of the situation. As a result I was unable to move in on the correct day. Dismissive handling throughout. They are either understaffed or just don't care. Either way, it's not a good customer experience.

Their valuations are not exaggerated and they constantly work on them with reactions from potential buyers in the market so footfall is always maintained. My experience with Hamptons recently has been top rate. It has improved dramatically since being assigned a new property manager. In the past I had to really be on top of things myself, constantly chasing everything up which wasn't easy when living abroad. However now that has all changed as my property manager is so professional and does an excellent job on my behalf . She is focused, productive and super efficient going way above and beyond the call of duty. Her help and advice have been invaluable throughout a redecoration and change of tenant, liaising with all the different departments in Hamptons as well as the decorators to bring everything together. I really feel that she has my best interests at heart where the running of my property is concerned and I can now relax knowing it is in great hands. Thank you Sarah! Based on my recent experience with the level of service Hamptons provided me this summer I would highly recommend them.

Our lettings manager told us we had to accept the landlord's deposit deductions or all of the deposit would be sent to a third party and we wouldn't get our money for 6-8 weeks, having re-read Hamptons deposit documentation this wasn't actually correct or true. I believe their intention was to push us to pay the landlord when we actually didn't have to!

After being in touch with several other not-so-impressive letting agencies when looking for a flat to rent in the area, we eventually came across the Hamptons International Islington branch which is indeed a very professional and reliable agency. They did a great job guiding us through the letting process, taking our budget and preferences into account, with no unexpected twists or turns. Our appointed property manager Sarah Sarpong is both diligent and efficient, any maintenance and other matters have been dealt with swiftly and without delay, truly exceeding expectations! It’s basically what you want, and need, to make your everyday life a little bit less complicated! I would happily recommend Sarah and the Islington branch team!

The agent who came round and did the initial valuation was thoughtful, helpful and inspired confidence, which is why we chose Hamptons to handle our sale. However that seemed to be pretty much the last time he was involved in the process, and after that we heard from a series of other agents of varying confidence. We had to constantly chase them for feedback, were frequently pressured to cut the price for a quick sale, and were also heavily pressured to meet up with the purchaser despite me expressing my extreme reluctance to do so. In the end we sold for £100,000 less than the initial asking price, which either demonstrates a substantial over valuation at the start, or a less than stellar sales team. There are many other agencies on Upper Street, and I would suggest considering one of those when thinking of selling in the Islington area.

I've been waiting in front of a property on Saturday for a viewing and just no one showed up. I checked my booking confirmation (that was agreed by phone and the agent sent me an email confirmation!), tried to call the agent but no response. This was just a big waste of my time especially as I live on the other side of London. Very rude and unprofessional.

These idiots refunded my friends deposit and extra rent he paid to the landlord and not him. They deny any wrong doing and are if no help at all. I am now using my solicitor to help my friend get his money back. Stay clear of this agency. You have been warned.
