I have been going here for many years to the Uveitis clinic and I have had to use the A&E. The staff are unbelievable and so amazing! You cannot get better eye care anywhere else. The hospital as well has so much art on the walls which is really nice. The A&E was amazing and every quick I may say! If you liked my review please give it a ???? and feel free to follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!

Today I have entered A&E department at Moorfield eye hospital. My eyes was checked by 4 or 5 different doctors on 5 or 6 different equipment(machinery). Just wanted to say that I have experienced highest level professional service. I'm so pleased and thankful. Highly highly highly recommended hospital! Thanks again!

Very long wait. Advise not to be at the hospital more than 15 minutes before your appointment or you have to queue outside. Didn't seem to be very busy once inside but had to wait over an hour to be seen.

Came here today for electrophysiology, I am really impressed and happy how the staff especially Antonio on the first floor, helped me and got a porter with a wheelchair. The porter took me out to the taxi rank, as after I had the tests done I had severe vertigo, which meant I couldn't walk in a straight line, let alone walk out the hospital and get two underground trains to Waterloo and then the train to Farnborough. Very happy. Very thankful and appreciated the support and help. Would highly recommend this hospital.

The Strabismus Clinic "I visited the clinic today for an injection and wanted to say what a fantastic job you have all done in making the clinic Covid secure. From the reception staff, security on arrival and of course the amazing clinical team. The experience was one of complete efficiency , professionalism and respect. I have been coming to the clinic for some years and have always been impressed but never more than today. Thank you for all your hard work i have worked for the NHS all my professional life and as a recipient of its care in your hands today i felt so proud of to have been treated by it. "

I have been to Moorfield hospital 3 times. The first time in A&E and the second times at a follow up appointment. I was very pleased with the care received and I felt that the staff were very thorough. However, last Saturday I wasn't impressed at all. The appointment I waited for months was disappointing and a waste of time. The nurse only checked the eye pressure and then she dismissed me. My optician could have done that. Thoroughly upset about the whole experience.

After hours of waiting and doing a marathon up and down the stairs like a headless chicken, you might just be able to attend the appointment you intended to. They waste your time by taking measurements of your face for your glasses and then when they post them home they are so big they couldn’t fit on an elephants face!

My daughter has an eye infection and was referred by our GP to see a specialist. I was horrified by the receptionist who handled the situation unprofessional and without any consideration. Had a call back after had consulted the doctor regarding my daughters eye condition. The outcome was to get a lubricant from the chemistry. When I asked what kind or brand was told just ask for a lubricant.

Very safe. Waiting areas small but big comfy chairs. They lost my covid results. However very professional surgeons and theatre staff. A lot of patients coming with another adult, not very helpful. Currently some appointments are online or phone. That's okay as they are also doing covid vaccinations. Well done.

You might agree with me or you might not agree me with me, Moorfield eyes hospital is probably the BEST eye hospital in London. Very efficient and fast pace not to mention as well, very CONVENIENT, Very professional and well trained. So many patients with eyes issues walking in every minute, I don't know how do they deal with its capacity. its absolutely a treasure to have this hospital in London.

I went to A&E department with severe pain in my eye plus blurry vision after waiting for a few hours. I was seen by DR JOHN BROOKES consultant Ophthalmic surgeon, whose service was absolutely horrific. He was busy chatting with his colleague sitting next to him and he didn’t check me properly ,I am not satisfied at all with him and after a few days I had to go back again with even more pain and worse vision and this time another doctors checked me properly and did a few more test waiting for the reports. I would like to give zero stars to DR JOHN BROOKES but Google doesn’t allow me to do that.

Thank you Moorfields Eye Hospital. I presented to the children’s ward with my 2.5 year old son after becoming increasingly concerned with the movement of one of his eyes. The staff were amazing. Over three hours, 5 different professionals assessed him, and we walked out with a full diagnosis and a pair of prescription glasses in the mail - which arrived two days later. The care and efficiency of the staff, during a pandemic, with a young child is like no other. It is truly world class care.

Mr Battiwalla’s eye She enters right into the ward and ends the slumber of the night. Sister is robust in voice, and broad in bust and shoulder. Regrets the man who told her, once, how best he might recover. Ten timid men still further slip below the blanket beds, and fingers grip night-loosened sheets to pull higher over heads. When on the floor is now revealed, which through the night had been concealed - a pillow. ‘Who dis pillow on de flaar!?” Not a question, more like a roar. Silence, not a squeak. Not a man with courage there to speak. Then spying in the farthest corner her eye alights on Battiwalla. “Mr Battiwalla!” Her cry cuts like a knife. “You in de wrong position!” “Can’t breathe sister,” his faint reply, More like a plaintive whisper. “Mr. Battiwalla, we tryin' to save your eye. Not tryin' to save your life!”

this hospital and it's dedicated eye specialists render us a lucky nation to have their first class expertise and care and aftercare. However we have encountered arrogant abrupt rudeness regarding appointments , my husband also waiting for eye op for November he had not asked for cancellation as he is still weighing up options for his procedure. Received call from someone almost bullying him to accept cancellation to suit there appointment/cancellation system!!!! and said they are reporting him to consultant what ever happened to patient/person centred care and their choices if my husband is prepared to wait surely that's his choice.

A wonderful service in general, from receptionists to nurses and doctors. I have been a patient for over 4 years now and I feel the service has improved and I am quite happy with its current standards. Good job, thank you!

Doggedly refused to provide clinic letters that should have been sent to me as standard after my appointments despite FIVE reasonable requests so I had to make a Subject Access Request. How do you justify such unreasonable and spiteful behaviour?

Moorfields is demanding NHS patients provide “evidence” of a medical condition/disability if unable to wear a mask. They have not published this policy – which is in conflict with govt guidelines- so patients have no prior warning. The hospital has not specified what kind of evidence it wants, but since the NHS announced publicly it will not issue exemption letters, this would have to be a letter from a private doctor at the NHS patient’s own cost. Govt guidelines state it is NOT necessary to provide evidence of a disability (gov.uk website). But I had to pay £120 for a letter from a private doctor to enable me to enter an NHS hospital that is treating me for a tumor behind my eye which causes seizures so my breathing must be unobstructed at all times. The hospital itself therefore holds evidence of my disability but apparently that is not sufficient proof. Clown world. Hopefully Moorfield’s will review its position and comply with the government guidelines, as well as reconcile its statutory obligations under the Equality Act 2010 with the government’s guidelines.

Went to the A&E Department early in the morning due to not sleeping last night because I felt some pressure in both eyes, severe pain and severe headache plus blurry vision. Been refused to be seen due to the fact that I have been a month ago to a different hospital which is open only partially during the day and doesn't have a 24 hours emergency service. Been told to go to the other hospital where I've been seen first time when they will open which was not fair as I do see my situation pretty bad. I will go there but don't recommend this hospital for A&E emergencies. They are not very professional and the patients treatment is poor. If something will happen to me I hope someone will be accountable for not admitting me as an emergency meanwhile I clearly was one. As a tax payer the service received was somewhere under very poor. Hope not to arrive there again.

My mother has gone private here today and also 2 weeks ago. They are so slow. Wrong times given on her appointment sheet and just waiting for hours afterwards for the eye drops. I know others who haven't come back for their follow up check ups because of the hours waiting. You can't ask questions as staff just ignore you. Best eye hospital in the world apparently.

Everyone in the hospital was most welcoming and kind. Was seen super fast and was reassured by the nicest doctor and nurse. I've never had eye problems before and was somewhat panicked - thank you Morfields for helping me!????

Staff were lovely and thoroughly checked my eyes. Not had any proper check ups for quite sometime even though I'm a complex high myopia patient. My local hospital more or less dismissed me due to 3 previous eye surgeries. As a kerataconus patient who has undergone previous corneal collagen cross linking privately 9 years ago it's reassuring to be under the care of expert doctors. Previous notes unavailable as consultant went into administration and my local hospital have lost my corneal mapping images and told me I'm too complex for them. Today it was nice to be reassured and have follow up having kerataconus, congential cataracts and very high myopia has always caused confidence problems. I don't look as though I have a disability due to intraoccular lense implants but they're minus 16.5 lenses. It's frightening having eye surgery but the difference it has made to my life is surreal.

Very friendly staff, did not say anything even though I had a minor but unpleasant and long term eye issue that had not been diagnosed until today, got my meds and my eyes feel better straightaway. My pharmacist had told me to go there as over the counter meds would not help, so happy i listened to him.

General advice: Arrive early in the morning because by 9am is super busy and packed!Overall spotless reception area and waiting room! Went to A&E ground floor at 7am, arrived first no one else waiting. A nice nurse did an initial assessment and told me to wait to be seen by the doctor at 7:30. The doctor saw me at 9am and prescribed more drops. Excellent doctor and pharmacy staff.

I come here running a long way after 8 month of COVID. My eyes had been uncomfortable for a while but not dare to go to hospital until my sight has been severely blocked by something. However, the madam doctor said it’s not emergency and let me come backing during working hours after 2 weeks. I think I would be blind then.

Fantastic service, they have saved my partner's sight in his right eye and even though he's still having treatment the service is the highest I've ever experienced. Waiting times are high but it is a very busy hospital and we are quite happy to wait our turn for the service we receive. Marcia in clinic 3 glaucoma is brilliant, very helpful. Can't rate the hospital and staff high enough.

Moorfields is a wonderful hospital with an incredibly dedicated team of medical professionals. I was seen today by Andrew and Sammy in Medical Imaging who were excellent and also charming and helpful and also by the fantastic team in the Retinal Therapy Unit who are always warm, efficient and absolutely professional. Londoners are blessed to have such an excellent hospital that is at the cutting edge of research and treatment. Thanks to all the team.

I’ve been referred to this hospital by an optician as she suspected some problems, which were confirmed on the day of my visit by a consultant who examined my eyes including some tests. He diagnosed me with a serious condition and even explained what to expect next. However, I was called back in a couple of days and further tests were performed. Later, I got a phone call from another doctor, who I never saw, but who made a final conclusion, that everything fine and there is no need in treatment, leaving me to deal with unexplained problems by myself. I still do not know, who was wrong, everyone who examined my eyes in person, or another doctor, who relied on one-day tests without further monitoring, but in my opinion, it’s absolutely unprofessional to mislead people with the wrong diagnosis. I will never come back even if the diagnose will be confirmed later in my life by someone else and will never recommend Moorfields services to anyone. Unfortunately, I lost my trust due to this bad experience.

All the eye surgery s are back on. They are pushing to do between 50- 100 surgerys a day .Unfortunately for me my operation was not done properly. Was told 6 months ago that Mr Hamilton was doing the operation. He was nowhere to be seen. 3 different doctors came and spoke to me saying they were doing the operation. ? It was rushed and a complete nightmare with the nurses waiting in the makelar ward. I had been tested for covid 19 before coming into moorfields. I seemed to be the only person who had a test done. What is going on with moorfields ? To my disgust after talking to the clients waiting like me I found out that NOt one person had been tested . They should not be in the building. MAKING A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO THE NEWSPAPERS AND TO THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE THIS IS NOT LIKE MOORFIELDS OF OLD. BEEN TELEPHONING THE DIRECT HELPLINE ON 2345 X FOR 3 WEEKS . SOME DAYS THERE IS NO ONE WORKING ON THAT DEPARTMENT. THIS IS A DISGRACE

Have been calling them for 3 days in a row, hanging on the phone for 2-3 hours at a time and nobody picks up, this is all to arrange ge an appointment they cancelled due to corona which is fine but let's sort another out. I've heard them answering shortly and then putting me on hold again, have this all documented if I go blind which is the risk....

I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful hospital. After being diagnosed with a sudden-onset macular hole five months ago I've received nothing but the best care from the medical staff, right across the board. I'm now lucky enough to have two fully-functioning eyes again, thanks to the great skills of our NHS professionals. Real-life heroes!

Overall my experience at Moorfield eye hospital was not good, I know staff are working under pressure due to COVID19. On my arrival today at the first floor reception the person behind the receptions desks was on the internet looking at cars. When the nurse arrived her behaviour was rude and aggressive. After 4 hours waiting in the waiting room she came back with the same attitude and I had to kindly tell her that she does not have to be aggressive and rude. After telling her about her behaviour then she offered my father a sandwich and a cup of coffee as he is type 2 diabetes after 4 hours wait. During the waiting time, I found out ear dropping that there were medications out of date since May. The information of how long we had to wait for the operation was not clear either as we arrived at 2pm waited for nearly 4 hours before one of the junior doctor came to look at my dad eye. In total we had to wait over 5 hours before my diabetics dad have his surgery. I believe the staff approach to patient should have a review as the patient would be going through stress and anxiety. In the recovery area the staff were fine. I don't wish anyone going through this.

Simply frustrating to go and be seen by a receptionist on the door of the hospital which prescribed eye drops from the supermarket from the other side of the road after answering about the symptoms. Call the doctor and he simply advise me to check an optician and simply refused to examinate as they were busy ( hospital completely empty )
