I give 1 star to this Branch because I cannot give you 0 star to you regarding my experience. This is the nearest branch for me. That's why I have been to this Barclays everytime I had something to do with my account.(I do not wanna mention it because of privacy. There is a really unbelievably rude staff at the counter. I was so disappointed with this person. He was the worst employee of any companies who I ever seen. He ruined my day. I cannot believe how he got this job which should dealing with customers. Good location! Bad service.

In my experience, a hilariously inefficient and unreliable bank (self-described as "state-of-the-art flagship branch"). Last week I went there to deposit cash in the account of a friend whose London apartment I was using. The teller informed me that he could not deposit cash, but a colleague would help me use one of the pay-in machines. That involved filling out an envelope, by hand, with the amount deposited and the account information. By way of receipt I only had a strip torn off the envelope, with the amount deposited and a serial number for the envelope, but no information about me the depositor or the account being credited. (Do I need to point out that “state-of-the-art” involved information entered by hand with the assistance of an attendant?) When I pointed out that the receipt did not state my name nor the account for the deposit, the helpful attendant assured me that the serial number was sufficient receipt, and my friend could verify the deposit on-line or come in personally. As it happens, my friend is in New York for the next two months, and she does not have on-line banking with Barclays. When I went back to this "flagship" branch and asked to have the deposit verified, the teller informed me that I could not be given information about another person’s account. When I pointed out that the information I had written on the envelope was effectively my possession, he relented and provided me with a photocopy of the envelope as processed. The photocopy showed a deposit of twenty pounds fewer than I had counted out beforehand. Maybe the counting error was mine, but banks aren’t infallible: the point is that I could not challenge the counting because I was not there when it took place. So I went back a third time to make up the difference, using an old-fashioned deposit slip with the account holder’s name and number printed on it. To reach a teller I had to pass through a gauntlet of three attendants who wanted to divert me to the pay-in machines, but of course I refused. Once I was in line for a teller one of these attendants came up and asked my business. When I replied that I was depositing twenty pounds cash in a friend’s account, she said that I would have to use an envelope at one of the pay-in machines. When I described my recent unsatisfactory experience with that procedure, she said: when you reach the tellers they are going send you to me to use an envelope anyway, so why waste your time? In fact, the teller took the cash, used the deposit slip, and gave me a machine-printed receipt in five seconds. I fear that if she keeps on showing the resourcefulness, efficiency, and reliability of tellers she may well lose her job.

I am surprised to see so many people rating 1 star so I m going to share my experience with Barclays Piccadilly Circus. I've been trying to open a bank account for months with Natwest but something was always missing. I had an appointment with Mohammed (Tanvir) Khan on monday and again, a document was missing. Tanvir was very helpful and and did his best to help me to get what's missing. I went back to him few days later and my bank account was open in 30 min. I highly recommend Tanvir and Barclays Piccadilly Circus Branch.

Really bad customer service. The only reason I go there just because my work banks with them. They’re too relax, especially the staff on the counters. When I got seen, the guy that was dealing with me went over to his colleague and said you can have the next customer (while laughing) because he looks like he has an hearing aid. This was one of experiences I’ve had But there were other more. Like the time I was just waiting while two staff were talking to themselves and I just walked away and had to come back another time. Guys you need some customer refresh training.

Queued up to withdraw money one day and the lady on the counter was very slow, rude and disinterested. She took an extended period of time to do some basic baking as she was leaning on her elbow for the time as if I was boring her to death. Went the next day at 5:05 to withdraw more cash while I wait on my new bank card and was informed that the counter shuts at 5 however this is not mentioned on the opening times on site or on google. Rubbish service all round for a central London bank.

Worst customer service ever. Went there three times to open an account and was told to bring different stuff every time I went there just to find out on my 4th visit that Barclays does not accept reference letters from the company I'm working at. So thank you very much and I hope to never have to deal with this bank again in my life.

Dodgy staff called ( Oshaye Sterling )be aware of him . He takes your bank statement in case you trying to open bank account & copy it . And tells you he is going to show it to the manager . He comes to me saying that as he took ages to come back & he left me waiting & I called manager whom denied what he said & admits he didn’t show him nothing . Bad service I was kept for over 2 and 1/2 hours to resolve this problem . And OSHAYE ran away after doing what he did . Manager brought the copy and gave it to me as I refused to leave without it . Manager admits Oshaye always gets complains and he will try get rid of him . Bad service , don’t waste your time going there!! I changed my mind about opening account there as few friends later on told me they had bad experiences there too . Don’t ignore the bad reviews people .. be careful !!

loads of staff chatting - and one serving. Why bother having a branch with so many service counters in a nice little arc, while you let your customers queue in the oddest looking cue 'guide' aisle things. HEY STAFF IN THIS BRANCH - LOOK TO SERVE CUSTOMERS AND LESS OF THE CHATTING AND AVOIDING EYE CONTACT. Get head office directors to go into that branch as normal customers and see if they think the service is up to scratch. If they do, sack them as well !!

Google should have definitely an option to had a ZERO or a MINUS 5 stars for example. This branch went from having professional, mature and helpful staff, to a secondary school lookalike members of staff. I went to deposit money into my account but the member of staff what done actually was , took money OUT of my account...twice! After arguing that it is definitely a mistake , the member of staff checked and checked and afterwards told me to check my app. The money was back into my account and I questioned what it had actually happened and the reason was..."the system is slow today", and...while checking his WhatsApp at the same time, there was not a single apology and at the end the staff member says to me..."Cool bro". BRO?! Perhaps I will start my research into changing to a different bank...

This branch does not even deserve 0 stars, que que que, 10 counter stations but very rarely more than 2 open. Premier/business sign to go to the right but never manned so you have to que with everyone else. Twice this week have qued for in excess of 30 minutes, shocking!

I was depositing cash in the atm machine and...it just turned off and it didn’t give me the money back. Now that money just disappeared. I don’t have it anymore. The Manager told me I would have it in my account in 24h. Now the police is investigating and checking the cctv. And...of course...the staff...so rude! They think they are in the high-school. And if you want to discuss something with them, one by one will be rude with u and make you feel like you are an intruder, a person who don’t deserve to be there.

Went a long way to get here just to use their coin paying in machine. As I'd half-expected it was broken. The conversation with one of the people standing around went like this: "That coin machine looks like it's broken at the moment." (silence) "Is it often broken?" "Yeah." "When do you think it will be fixed?" "Don't know." I'm not aware of how much they are paid to do what they (don't) do, but if you calculate that amount based on how many words they speak to customers (they managed a grand total of three with me) or on how many helpful things they actually do then I would say they're doing quite well for themselves! Best to leave them to have their conversations about what they got up to last night and go elsewhere. Don't want to get in their way when they're having so much fun.

Absolutely the worst customer service ever! Every time I go there I am proven it can get worse than the previous time. Today I got upset with them again and rolled my eyes. Girl at the counter told in my face "I don't understand why you are rude. I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT HERE!". She kept going on and on about it making sure I understand that she can do whatever she wants. After this lecture I was told to come back because they could not help with my request at the time. Clearly they do whatever they want there but what customers expect them to.

I bank with my business account regularly here and every time I use the counter service for basic tasks the staff give the impression they are doing you a massive favour. Ask to deposit cash and get told "Errrr I've never seen it done that way before, can't you just use the machines?", ask to change some cash and get told "Can't you at least separate the notes?", ask for paying-in slips to be told they don't have any, bearing in mind this is a large branch. Once asked to change notes for pound coins to be told "No because I get shouted at". In the nicest possible way, some customer service training is needed because I'm regularly made to feel embarrased for making pretty straightforward requests.

Awful service, not enough staff to deal with the number of clients means you are waiting for hours for simple services. Someone higher up needs to take a good look at how this branch is managed. Its a shame on the Barclays name!

I went to Barclays at Picadilly Circus this Saturday morning and I must say that my experience was fantastic. I preferred going there because even though I had to queue for few minutes (no more than 5min) they always offer an efficient and fast service. I admit I was a bit annoyed when I entered in the building but the lady that greeted me looked after me and made sure a member of the staff helped me to sort everything out. Well done to Picadilly Circus' branch's team!

By fair one of the best branches they have , like most people when.you finance go into melt do so do you ! Its great to go into a branch that is actually open later than 9-5 because lord knows you can't get out of the office during those hours and on top of that they can issues you a new card on the day if you have lost yours and let's face it that is priceless. The staff are friendly and polite.

The worst in absolute. They TAKE JOKE OF YOU. They do not care you already have a work contract. I need to open a bank account. First they tell me they want the original of my NIN number. I got it. Then they tell me to come back again with the original of my NIN number with my updated address. I got it in two weeks. The bank tells me the rules have changed and they cannot accept it. They ask me to get a reference letter from my employee. I got it in a week. The bank tells me they won't accept it because the paper is too thin to be an original and, although it states I've got a permanent contract and my address, I shall ask HR to change the position of this information on the letter. Ridiculous and absurd!!

Disgraceful!! Lost the cheque I lodged with them and even though I have a receipt they are as helpful as a chocolate teapot! Also - no way of contacting the branch directly unless you can call in and as most customers in London are visiting its a pretty rubbish set-up. DO NOT LODGE ANYTHING AT THIS BRANCH - WITHDRAW MONEY ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!

Customer service, not existence! AVOID. I arrived at this branch 12:45 pm today to finalise an ISA account. There were two members of staff chatting when I approached them to explain what I was there for, the attentive gentleman I spoke to then asked the other gentleman whether he could assist me, and without hearing exactly what I was there for, he stated that he was waiting for an appointment and walked away. The attentive gentleman said that he would try and get someone to see me but the wait could be half an hour or so to which I responded: no worries, I just want to get this completed today, so off he went upstairs to establish who could see me and when. The gentleman that was allegedly waiting for an appointment then spent the next five minutes by the door looking out and roaming around the branch. The helpful man returns from upstairs with bad news: very sorry, but we won't be able to see you today, you will have to schedule an appointment; I proceed to say that I would make a complaint and also thanked him for trying to help, though sadly none of his colleagues were willing to. I only needed to provide my NI number to complete the account which would have taken less than 10min, this annoyingly, was the time the other guy spent doing absolutely nothing - very disappointing and abysmal customer experience.

Terrible in pretty much every way. Machines are often broken, in response to which staff are completely unapologetic and apparently clueless as to when (if ever) they will be fixed. In fact the staff there - particularly those floating around attempting to 'help' customers - are clueless about pretty much everything. Cashiers don't seem to know any of the bank's policies and procedures, and when they think they do, it's often completely contradictory to those exhibited by their client service team (I use this branch in a business capacity). I've been in to this branch at least 10 times and have never had an experience there which couldn't be described as completely frustrating. The majority of the staff, even the apparently senior ones, are quite young, so I don't know if some culture has developed there whereby customer service is simply not an issue - or maybe it's not part of the Barclays training? Anyway, I've never used Barclays for personal banking and my experiences at this branch have ensured that I never will. I can only hope that the plethora of negative reviews can encourage them to make some changes!

The stuff ask me to wait for 20 minutes. There is 2more people before me. After one hour waiting time. They told me there is 3 peoples before me. Ask me to wait little bit longer. I was wasting my time for nothing and got late for my job.

As a flagship branch this is awful for everyday banking. I only ever use it to pay in cheques or cash. The machines are more often out of order than working. Most of the counter staff are sullen. Not a pleasant experience.

There is so much wrong with this bank. The queues are very long. This branch is busy most of the time, because of its location, in central London. There are plenty of ATM's but not enough staff. Don't even attempt to waste your time trying to speak to a human.

Apparently the branch close at 6 pm, however if you arrive at 5:01 pm you are no able to make a deposite because the cashiers close at 5:00 pm. You have a second option which is to use the self deposite machines, there are three ....two of them out of order and a long long qweu to have acces to it. There is just one coin counter machine which is obsolete and is working once in a while.

Disappointing for a 'flagship branch'. 5 out of 6 ATMs weren't working and so was the inpayment machine. The only staff member around was serving a couple and asked me to wait for 'a second', which then turned out to be 5 minutes. I nevertheless happily waited as for one staff member serving numberous clients at a time can be stressful. When he finished with the couple he just skipped me and went to a person that came in way later (good looking girl). I guess he never heard 'bros before hoes' before.

Worst service ever. Yesterday I went to deposit some money in a deposit cash machine on barclays piccadilly london (70 pounds). The machine didn't give me the reciepts and they credit me just 60 pounds. I asked help and one member if staff with a rude tone of voice supposed I was lying. I asked to check the cameras as I can prove I put money in they send me away saying they will check. I wish to move from this bank very soon.
